Good stuff, but pretty basic if you've touched the class in Classic :). For the the DS macro, you should be able to pop and cancel in one GCD. Also you can downrank to save mana if the purpose just is to wipe debuffs :). Good videos man, keep it up!
For me the most important tip is: use the addon threat plates

It may be a niche thing, but I like to have my cancel aura Divine Shield tied into my Redemption and not to Divine Shield. The reason I do this is because I'm afraid of spamming the keybind and removing the bubble when I really wanted to do something like throw out a heal while bubbled. It may be a bit more complicated, but it works for me.
Thanks for the video. I have a question. Lots of guides that I read say vengeance is the best tanks, yet I noticed you didn't mention it. Are there certain situations where vengeance is the go to over righteous, or am I misinformed and righteous is the go to minus the situations you mentioned here?
Add Sunnart to your ui. It will take the bottom 20 percent ish of your screen an black it out, and redraw the rest. Effectively removes all of your ui from your viewable area.

Hiyas Greys. I am having trouble keeping up mana in time-sensitive fights like Black Morass. Should I use a down-ranked Consecrate in order to conserve mana and still be able to keep at least "a" version of Consecrate on the ground at all times to pick up all the adds trying to murder Medivh?
Get high threat gear and use the whole time seal of wisdom, judge, seal of wisdom.
I use this all the time for dungeons.
For bosses: cruisader, judge, righteousness.
(Sometimes wisdom, judge, righteousness and just hold it up)
Just look at threat addon what could be better for you.
Consecrate highest rank, holy shield highest rank and retribution aura.
If you have defence and crush full, just go for stamina and spelldmg.
I sit down to drink up like....2 -5 times in shattered halls.
I love this guide but I have just one question what about mana if we are going to cast consecration off cd isnt that a huge mana drop? because after every fight or even pull i do consecrate off cd and im always oom im trying to find a guide that helps me with conserving mana while still being able to hold aggro and dps if thats even possible
Do you use max rank spells? Do you have mana issues?
I think good key binds is more of key than a good ui. you shouldn't have to look at your UI if you know your key binds. And you can weak aura your skills cd's
your macro at 7:18 does not work. do you have a fix?
Everything on Pally is expensive af.
Wanna use Sanctuary but I'm going OOM even with Wisdom up.
Wanna judge SoW but not using SoR for an entire Judgement CD is rough.
Conc downranked isn't holding threat reliably but max rank is too expensive.

On Moroes, using Blessing of Sacrifice to break the gouge is better than a DS macro.
Sacrifice is really strong in a lot of content and underrated

@@JoseRamirez-cl7te Gouge breaks on damage, so if you put sacrifice on someone and they take damage, it ends the gouge on you

I'm so torn right now and I'd love any input. I absolutely love the gameplay and fantasy of ret pally in tbc. However, I've seen how good prot is, and would also love to get into groups fast and tank and farm; I'd like to be more of a commodity. But ret will always be my overall priority. Obviously we don't have dual spec, what would you guys recommend I do? Should I tank at the start of tbc as I get gold and gear for ret?
Ret is simply more fun and great if you mostly play solo. If you want to do heroics or pvp Holy is what everyone wants. Prot is great for dungeons but I think there will be a lot of prot pallies running around.
never turn your back to mobs, or sit down, because you cannot dodge block or parry when doing those things. also when ur stunned you don't either. with spiritual attunement u get mana back when healers heal u so if u got a healer (usually a druid because they just press lifebloom and afk for mana regen) who u can talk to about spamming sit or something to take extra damage to get mana back in a fight it's really nice
NR 1 can be skipped if you just get a good weakaura, there are people who made good ones that shows every info you need in a weakaura box, i play default with a class bundle weakaura.

why wouldnt you open up with avengers shield in aoe scenarios then go into your undead rotations on moroes?
I think hes talking about when there is 1 big mob In the other trash mobs where most the single target dps will be attacking the big guy so u need quick threat on him so exo does more dmg/threat than avengers shield

Yeah potions only. Only really useful for healers. Pop trink then chug a mana pot
Is divine shield a threat reset or just temporary suppression? When it ends, whether I've used the cancel aura macro or not, do I start at zero threat or still have the threat I've built until then?
Just a temporary suspension, much like a lip.
It temporary you’ll keep the threat you had before you pop it but since your invulnerable the mobs just jump to next highest threat which could be a healer so it’s important to not keep it up longer then the split second to cancel any debuff

i dont know if something is bugged lately, but i had a good 5-10 seconds head start on a boss in BM normal, iam fairly fresh so my gears isnt amazing...

are you sure you had Righteous Fury on?
why not judge with seal of blood/martyr instead of righteousness? it does more damage and damages you so that the healers can refund more of your mana
You want holy dmg done for the bonus threat from righteous fury, I think. I am not a pro so I am not sure though.

First off i like your content and i think you're doing an awesome job in getting to know Prot Paladin. You helped me a lot with getting the Information to start off in TBC.
Now to the Video. To me the First Tip is not a good one. Everyone plays different. The UI is a tool to be used to enable you. There is no right way to do it. There are a lot of people using default UI and some of them are amongst the best WoW players in the World. As long as you can perform and do your job no guild should care what your UI looks like. Especially new Players shouldn't focus hard on their UI imo but rather learn to actually play the game. As you learn your class and your role you automatically know what information is important and i think that's the point were you should start focussing on how to display this information as efficient as possible. But again the UI shouldn't follow some arbitrary standards. You have to play with your UI and no one else.
I like having a ret pally in my group for Sanc aura and he can Seal improved crusader.
Don't forget seal of vengeance for extra single target threat. You won't need wisdom while raid tanking.
Keep up the content.
I need your advice mate- I am lvling apladin for solo grinding strat UD - lbrs e.t.c- but with out boosting everyoen is saying that i can have only lik100-150h per Hour - not more (cause havent good gear it will be difficult for me)Should i lvl up for example Druid or Hunter for farming (skining herbs e.t.c ) ? which class is better for solo grinding?
Gonna try tanking Kara, I'm ret main but the tank drought has forced me to re-spec for raids. Some helpful tips here.
Get crush capped. 103% avoidance with holy shield up . It's very important when tanking bosses.
SOC then Exo bumps your dps hugely against ud mobs and if it crits oh boi
UI makes it easier for tanks and healers. For dps not so much
If you prio Consecrate as your #1 ability to pop on CD over everything else you will end up as a smooshed pile of dead paladin. ALWAYS keep Holy Shield on cd THEN keep Consecrate up. If you dont its very likely you will dip above uncrushable and you could get one shot before you have a chance to pop Holy Shield again.
He specifically said on trash and in 5 mans, where there is no issue with crushing as the mobs aren't 73.

@@aldeen9190 For pally all choices are good tbh. Humans have mace and sword spec, draenei have +1% hit and dwarves have a minor defensive cooldown so it's totally up to you.

Afaik there is no such thing.
He didn’t explain it correctly. In order to pull aggro off the tank, you need to be 30% above the threat of the tank. If you’re in melee range you only need to be 10% above the tank. If you’re 25% above the tank and then you move into melee range of the boss you will pull aggro simply based on proximity.
Once you’ve ripped threat, the tank needs to be 30% above you to pull aggro back of the tank is at ranged, or 10% above you if the tank is in melee range (or simply hit taunt which automatically moves you to the top of the list)

So a couple questions I noticed that you use Seal of righteousness not vengeance.
I've been told by everyone that vengeance is the way to go because it scales with your spell power however I've also heard a lot of people say that righteousness is better because it gets agro faster.
So I'm curious which one is it also a question on your 2nd tip I would like to ask 1 rink of concentrate are you using?
I mean like it or not we don't not stack Intel not extensively at least a mean you're in have maybe 2 or 3 pieces with it on you until you get your tear how can you afford to Spam concentrate on cooldown you're Going to be out of manner before the fights.
So are you down ranking concentrate to rank 1 or 2 or which is it because if you go that lower ranking because of the down ranking penalty is I could be enough to hold threat.
I ask because I'm a paladin tank myself and I run into this issue even with the passive which does help a lot but it's still not enough.

And that's actually another question like how much spell power of you actually need to take affectively I have been told generally if you're round the area of 200 you're fine.

u can see the cooldowns in the normal ui too.. dont need addons just look what u can do xd
I use add-ons for uptime rather than cooldowns. Seeing my seals, holyshield, etc is way easier with add-ons as I can make them near the center of the screen and look clean
I sure wish people would calm down and let tanks generate threat especially when you are LOSing groups...
YO I use F for the 5 keybind, too! Usually peoples keybinds are entirely different haha

dominos dose not make you a good player, it just make a player with bad concentration better seems they have no awareness so they need it to be in there- face. Personaly i never seen the use for it
For trinkets and wins, they should be macrod into abillitys that they profit from, like a block trinket togther with holy shield, wings with consecrate.
2min cd is so short no point saving wings, have Healthstone and defences into macro's etc...instead of spreading out your buttons to singel - keybind it combind them to make the effects better.
Very good vid! Beginner tanks need videos like this. Tanks require a lot of knowledge about the game that dps and healers don't need. Check out Preach gaming's tank series too!
