    There is an insane amount of false information in this video.
    In Japan the C in GC8 signifies both coupe and sedan and in the GC8D section you show a photo of a coupe GC8G. Also you stating there were no significant updates to the car with GC8F is entirely wrong. The GC8F is arguably the most significant update for the series as it introduced the boxer phase-2 EJ207 engine, prior to this the EJ20K, EJ20G and EJ205 were used. Its important to note this because the EJ207 variant is the same engine used in STIs from 1998 to 2013+ (although each year changes were made to the 207).
    Another fact that is wrong is the GC8G didn't get new wheels, the wheels you show in the video are Speedline Prodrive wheels that were popularized by the Subaru WRC team. All of the other GC8G changes in the video are also completely wrong , you are literally describing a modified GC8C Type RA on screen. The coloured handles and roof scoop are because it is a TYPE RA not because its a GC8G.
    I could go on with more complaints about the video but damn i'm already too triggered as a fan of these cars... please fact check before you post if you plan to continue to make more car videos in the future.

      @@malachilatroy Yes they are truly great cars. You won't be the fastest car on the road but the driving engagement and feeling of connection between you, the road and the machine is something special. Get in early as you can, prices will only go up.

    • @Miiikeru
      @Miiikeru 2 роки тому +1

      @@malachilatroy Yeah man they are very tuneable cars. Just go for bolt ons like bigger turbo, STi ecu swap (if its a WRX), bigger intercooler, fuel pump, better injectors, and straight pipe, etc. Then get a tune with an aftermarket ecu, or stock ecu if you get a version 5 or 6.

    • @Miiikeru
      @Miiikeru 2 роки тому +2

      @@malachilatroy if you're going for REALLY big power like 500hp+, I would recommend getting a forged closed deck block and maybe consider a stronger transmission too. These cars are light so I dont think you need to go too insane with them unless you just wanna drag race. I would rather stay around 350hp at max and have fun on mountain roads haha.

    If you ever have a chance to buy a GC impreza do it!!! Learn and built that GC to suit your vision!! I have a widebody 99 GC coupe and do not regret building it for the past 3 years and now I get to enjoy it.

      Nice I got a 2 door 97 GC thats also going under rebuild right now been working on it since October of last year and I gotta say its been a blast I've learned so much stuff about the car and hoping to get it out on the streets by mid summer

      Yup agreed. I had a 93 impreza w/ RS interior that I was building w/ an EJ20G from a 96 JDM STI...imagine that engine in a 2300lb car 😮. Sadly life happened. Then some idiot hit me. So I gave up. That was in 2012. TRYING TO FIND AN NA IMPREZA THESE DAYS IS CRAZY. I mean even just a MT NA Impreza w/ straight pipe + headers is still a fun daily. Slow but good MPG while you wait to fund the project. You slam one of those & give it the RS/WRX front bumper with big fogs & ppl still will give you the attention...even w/o a scoop hood or spoiler trunk.

    Cool video but you need to get your facts right. A few things were completely wrong first thing head gaskets ej205 and ej207s did not suffer bad head gasket issues ej255s and ej257 had minor ones it was the standard non turbo and then turbo converted ones that have the issues due to having a single layer head gasket whilst the wrx and sti ones are multi layers. All STIS HAVE EJS!! (EJ207 or EJ257). I suggest you do more research before posting a video explaining a car as you got a lot of other things wrong.
    Anyways hope my feedback helps you out. All the Best.

    The GC chassie also comes with some specific issue than later model. 1, MAF sensor. Expecially 1998 Sep to 1999 Sep version 5, to avoid AFR mess and knock, change the MAF every two years is recommanded, OEM parts for sure. 2, The v1 and v2 wrx ra can come with factory close deck block. (the only factory close deck for all EJ engine), it is strong but make sure upgrade your cooling system for it. 3, Oil pick up, as a boxer engine car, oil can flow to side and let oil pick up suck air but not oil. GC8 didnt have the chance for the update oil pan and pick up. Use later version oil pan and pick up could work, or go for killer B. 4, Only GC8 has the true subie rumble. Yes, only GC8 come with unequal length header from factory and ECU programmed for it. Don't let later version equal length fool you they are subie rumble.

      JDM v7 STI had UELH. USDM EJ25 is UELH also. As for the v1/v2 WRX RA being the only EJ20 that was closed deck, I'm 99% sure all EJ20G GC8 were closed deck besides the EJ20G that came out of the forester. I have a 94 WRX RA and it is closed deck but so were the STI and non RA EJ20G.

    This was in general, Good information 🌟🇯🇵❤️
    The car is probably the best you can buy from Subaru, ever made in my specs, and that is because of the weight of them.
    In Europe, we got them, even without ABS breaks, airbags etc. That because of saving Wight, Mine has 1200 kg, which 4X4 rallycar from the 90´s has this low Weight ( ok, probably Mitzubishi ), but Lancia Delta HF INTEGRALE EVO 2( The legend "REGINA" of Rallyin alll time´s wight were 140kg more( 2 People in the back sit´s whilw driving 🤣).
    Me personaly ❤️ the🇮🇹, but realy, the 🇯🇵 car is BETTER, but also younger !!!!
