Quality? Compared to? Toyota? The company with the most customer complaints on quality since 2016 for the Tacoma. I like Toyota. Have a 4Runner and it's great but my Tacoma was garbage. As with any manufacturer there's good and bad. I hope the new Tacoma is better and that everyone that gets one is happy. However I think the days of the Tacoma being a better truck have come to an end. Ford and GM have closed the gap. Offering a product that competes. Certainly value wise. Not sure what Toyota was thinking with their pricing.

@@davidwethington9320 new Tacoma is very much the Best in it's segment it excellent interior design exterior design power performance torque mpg comfort tech features comfort and more. Even car and driver ranked. the new Tacoma number one and two. Ford or gm is a improvement than the past yes for sure however the Tacoma is still the best . Prices are more than fine for the new Tacoma and special Trim levels like the TRD pro or trailhunter are low volume what I refer them as social media specials.its ok for GMC to charge 65k but hey when Toyota does it wow then it's bad.🤦

@@davidwethington9320 dont disagree with most of what you say until you talk about price, this truck is literally the same price as the TH or PRO and feature for feature all the trucks are literally the same prices. It's dumb to bring up the price saying its specifically a "Toyota" problem. Literally every manufacturer has the same ridiculous pricing when you compare feature per feature.

I’ve had 3 Tacomas, 1 FJ, and a Tundra all great vehicles, but 2024 showed me that Toyota is like any other car manufacturer, money, more money less quality and more money. Only time will tell how good or bad GM vehicles will last? Just my 2 cents. Thanks

the 2.7l is one of the best engines on the market. This isn't 2005 anymore. Whenever I work on ecoboosts (outside of first gen turbo failures from back in the day) it's never engine issues, have only had one 2.7l problem in the shop since they put them in silverados, and it was a lemon car that had a malformed chain tensioner from the factory. I do work on a lot of V8's, especially hemis and the 5.7 from Toyota.

All the mid size trucks are 4 bangers except the Raptor which will have a dealer markup to $75k. The 2.7 is a soild engine. Tune and CAI on a turbo will get you another 30hp Which should be enough(340hp/450tq) give your take.

@@Wrenchingandnursing I get it, I’m old. But I will still pass on todays “new” 4 cylinder. I own a fair amount of cars, from the 30’s to 2020. I’ve rather built myself or bought as a factory car… my 2000 sequoia has over 736k on the stock engine & transmission, this thing won’t die. Boosted cars/trucks just will never see those numbers… ever. Of course time will tell, but I’d bet serious money on my experience , being a metallurgist engineer for 49 years and having a better than average understanding on metal compound failures statistics, combining that with heat fluctuations and dissimilar metals. Simply put, they will fail at an accelerated rate versus an NA…. Yes by design, it’s been a topic for decades. Truth be known the Japanese manufacturing can be flawed, but wow the sheer amount of research they pay people like me to do a collective data over years on xxx conditions is staggering. I will hold my ground, I’m sure I will be dead and gone for failure debates on some of the newer designs. Think about Willy Wonka, if manufacturers created the ever lasting gobbstopper…1 piece of candy (car/truck) that could last xxx time, your financial algorithm would deteriorate to negative. Most people get tired of a design, life needs changes …you need or want a different model. I on the other hand make a purchase on data/materials/suppliers and location of manufacture, I tend to have the know on most of the inside information from coworkers/collaboration just to try and prove one of us wrong and teasing each other over some bourbon and BS. Hopefully I’m wrong, but time will tell.

I think I could’ve taken the base truck had it wrapped in yellow swapped out a couple seatbelts for the color.Slammed on the same exact wheels to match the incandescent bulb and plastic interior to get here. If you don’t like the set up underneath then you’ve wasted your money here. They should have put 40’s on it and made it slower. Tires and suspension alone do not a truck make.🎯 25:23

The Ranger Raptor seems like the best value for offroad focused mid-sized trucks. In fact, the Ranger lineup is the best value over from what I’ve seen. I’m interested to see the 2.7 ecoboost in the lower trim levels. I bet the a tune will put the 2.7 around 400hp in an XLT FX4. Either way, the mid-size market is way too expensive right now and isn’t the value it used to be.

In my opinion, the only thing the Bison could use is a bump in horsepower to compensate for the larger tires and extra weight from the bumpers/skids as well as stand out a bit more from the rest of the Colorado lineup. I find it odd that the Colorado version comes standard with hydraulic bump stops, but the canyon doesn't. Regardless, both are better looking and more capable than Tacoma.

I have the standard ZR2 and think it is the sweet spot though. I tow, off-road, and camp with it and it is a beast. Eventually I’ll cherry pick some parts off the bison to add to mine.

That's not how that works, but go on and believe a truck with almost half the torque, same hp, wildly worse transmission could do that. Frontiers also scored near the very bottom on reliability from JD and Consumers, the top was tacomas, colorado, and then a pretty steep drop to ranger and then an even bigger cliff down to frontiers. I also work on a lot of frontiers at the shop, they love blowing headgaskets, leaking coolant, and have the trans die from heat because of an abysmal stock cooler.
