The eurospec S13-14 5speed manual are 3,692:1 final ratio, and has the finned back cover and oilcoolers stock. All this because they are autobahn spec.
The strange diff looks to be a Z32 ABS late Diff. Z32 NA or DETT had 5 bolt flange. DETT had a larger spline count. When the spline count is larger, it tends to mean the inner shaft diameter is also larger. Fun fact, Y33 and Y32 (Cedric/Gloria) DET or NA had 5 bolt smaller spline count flanges as well. The R200 Diff is a complicated topic and could be talked about for hours.
I dunno...I just looked at my 93TT and the stub axle is a 6 bolt and the ABS sensors are on the halfshafts, not a single one on the snout. A quick search on eBay and it looks like the NA had a 5 bolt stub, but the ABS sensors are still on the rear, not the snout.
I'm loving this technical Tuesdays. I don't even own a Nissan but still want the knowledge. Tommy I see what you're doing and it's amazing. This is what all that time spent accumulating knowledge is best for. You are the forum now. Keep it up bro. A lot of people love Nissans, not a lot know the facts. We're blessed to have you. Godspeed.
Just touching on the s chassis diffs. There are also long nose and short for the s13. R180 long nose are the lowest spec I believe came in like CA18 Qs s13 and 180s supposedly weaker than the the r180 short nose. So different length tail shafts. Both non ABS.
Some good info but I’d like to point out something about the S15 6 speed swap into a S13 as I am currently swapping in a Nismo 6 speed into my 180sx. You don’t need the S15 diff and driveshaft. You use the auto front half of the S13 driveshaft as the spines are the same. In regards to the speedo, some have the speedo drive boss on the transmission, I think it’s earlier models but same with the Nismo, some have it and some don’t, luckily mine has it so I can retain the factory speedo. You also require the bell housing and starter bolts as they are longer due to the bell housing being deeper for the dual mass. Also need to extend wiring for neutral/reverse switches.
Would be a good idea to have a set of calipers or measuring tape on hand for these. Eg. For the trans, having the thickness of the gearset wedged between the housings would be a good for reference (instead of thumb vs pinky)
This is def sick! I remember spending my life on the forums so this really is a awesome way to bring forum info to the new age. Everytime I go on to look up stuff for my FD the videos and pictures are gone for the post. Nothing worse then looking something up for an hour just to find out the photos that were once there are now gone!!!!
Yo tommy! Great to see someone putting out information! You’re right a lot of the old forums are dead. Keep them coming! I myself have been in the S-Chassis world since 2012 and I’ve seen the slow decrease in good sources for information for new people getting into cars. Stuff like this is good for the growth of the community.
The stubshafts between the s chassis and non-gtr r chassis are interchangeable so if you buy a diff with the 5 bolt flange and your car has the 2x6 it doesn’t matter, they’re quick and easy to pop out and switch.
Tommy that diff that’s 4 bolt backing plate with the five stud axles and abs is s13 200sx New Zealand new models came factory with lsd five stud axles and abs they also only came Ca18det
this why i like your videos and rob dahms , ik rob rlly gets into everything and all the specifics but i like learning new stuff and getting in depth somewhat about the diffs and what the differences are i’m liking the tech tuesday learn some new everyday
One more thing of important note is that R32 GTS-4 Diffs are 4.3 final drive and everything else is the same as a gtr. I'm sure you're very aware that a GTS-4 Is exactly the same as a gtr except body panels and the rb20det. So while its rare, its very possible for someone to sell you a gts-4 diff while listing as a gtr diff and you wouldnt know without taking the rear cover off and looking at the numbers stamped on the ring gear. Something to check since you would need the oil pan off the gts-4 if you ended up with the diff. As far as im aware though the awd rb20det oil pan is the same bolt pattern as an rb26 but the awd rb25det neo's have a slight difference at the front, not 100% on that information though.
Tech Tuesdays are dope! It’s sad all the information is disappearing from the forums but awesome that you are taking the time to teach and add it to your channel.
I would like to see a tech Tuesday on engines and your thoughts. What do you think about the CA18DET I have been rocking mine daily at 300hp for 23yrs and only done one head gasket. Though she is built well by mate mate who only works on Nissans and motor sport teams and I do all the servicing myself.
No, you will have to use the SR houses on the RB20 transmisson, to use the gearset. And the rb25 big house transmission do not share gearset that fit in a SR20 house
Allow my non Nissan knowledge but throught that ABS sensors picked up of individual wheels? So if the rear sensor only picks up only off the Differential... I am a bit baffled pls allow my niavity (& spelling) if any 1 can help me out with quick breakdown (no pun intended). 😎🇬🇧✌👍👊
Thanks again for the great content. Please keep going. What's the best build for an R32 using all parts from R32, R33, R34 if you were going to Frankenstein one?
I got a 93 gtst that I swapped a neo and trans into.i have an open stock rb20 diff in it right now and I want to upgrade it. What diff would be best or just get kaaz 2way?
The diff you were counting the revolutions on has a LSD,if you turn the prop flange and both driveshaft flanges turn the same way,it’s got a LSD,or someone has welded it,😂😂
Here's hoping your channel blows up big enough that you can spin off these onto their own channel to start your UA-cam wall with all the subscriber milestones of each channel.
if you read the Established Titles website its riddled with spelling mistakes... not very professional. plus that size of land is too small to register it which means you arent a lord/lady because its not registered to you meaning you cant actually have the title a lord
Team F Yeah
As someone who was on the bimmerforums soaking up info before I could even drive, I appreciate what you're doing.
The eurospec S13-14 5speed manual are 3,692:1 final ratio, and has the finned back cover and oilcoolers stock. All this because they are autobahn spec.
That’s actually sick

i have seen that exact diff in a few r32 gtst and gts
i believe it's a r200

Just call the series Technical Today that way you don't have to specify any day Tommy !
Did he say he would be releasing the vids on Tuesdays?
@@gzo313 yes the first one was released on a Tuesday !
missed opportunity to call it techyeah
@@kierannevin7945 I agree, Techyeah is awesome
@@kierannevin7945 fyeahspectech fucks
The unknown diff around 15:00 isn't from a Z32. ABS/speed sensor is in the wrong place. The TT was a 6 bolt stub, but the NA's were 5 bolt.
Just touching on the s chassis diffs. There are also long nose and short for the s13.
R180 long nose are the lowest spec I believe came in like CA18 Qs s13 and 180s supposedly weaker than the the r180 short nose. So different length tail shafts. Both non ABS.
R180 and R160 long nose also came in Subarus pre 2000s they were leftovers from back in the 70s Datsun 240Zs etc. Made by Hitachi

how was your experience with it? tossing up a nismo 6 speed between an r33 GTST gearbox
@@billamota my car is still in the build process but I’m hoping it will take some abuse!
Z32 na: 2 bolt finned cover with 2 abs pickup ups on the 5 bolt stub shafts (no sensor on the diff nose) I believe it’s a 4.08 ratio.
Would be a good idea to have a set of calipers or measuring tape on hand for these. Eg. For the trans, having the thickness of the gearset wedged between the housings would be a good for reference (instead of thumb vs pinky)
A torsen (helical) diff will act like an open diff if you test it by hand. Can be a good way to score a cheap diff

We need a tech tuesday on vacuum line diagrams, and fuse boxes

Tech Tuesday and tech Thursday sounds pretty cool.
Tech Tuesday is here, gentleman.
Tech Tuesday till the end of time 🙌🏻
These Tech Tuesdays are fire content.
LOVE this series!
Tech Tuesdays are dope! It’s sad all the information is disappearing from the forums but awesome that you are taking the time to teach and add it to your channel.
Yup keep the tech Tues vids coming 🙏👍
This is awesome bro I remember when Honda-tech was on fire back in late 90s early 2000s
My S13 CA Diff is a 4.3 VLSD
I would like to see a tech Tuesday on engines and your thoughts. What do you think about the CA18DET I have been rocking mine daily at 300hp for 23yrs and only done one head gasket. Do a manscape commercial next. Your enthusiastic approach will definitely make me question life.
Is that oddball s13 diff a SE HICAS diff maybe?
Wish I had more teachers like Tommy in my younger days... FYEAH-SPEC education!
I have an r33 series 2 sedan, rear diff has 2x6 axle stubs, 2 bolt cover on the rear, i love the content but I need more r33 info hahaha
Tommy, start up a new GTR forum
Anyone else wanna see Josh rocking some TFYeah overalls, poor lad destroying clothes daily.
Will the rb transmissions bolt to sr20s and will the rb25 “stronger one” bolt too? and if so is that a plausible upgrade for a sr20 car ?
No, you will have to use the SR houses on the RB20 transmisson, to use the gearset. And the rb25 big house transmission do not share gearset that fit in a SR20 house
Mystery diff is infiniti j30 vlsd 3.9 with s13 cover, and the factory s13/14 are also vlsd (viscous) not clutch type
Tommy updates on your R32 Vspec

Anyone knows if there are any differences to the stock s15 6 speed and the Nismo 6 box from the outside?
It's Tuesday in my world shiz...
Thanks again for the great content. Please keep going. What's the best build for an R32 using all parts from R32, R33, R34 if you were going to Frankenstein one?
Tommy doing Gods work. Thanks man, great info.
I wish someone would do this for the Z32
There's so much to learn from the Z32 it's wild. I wish this too. I'd love that 🤙
I got a 93 gtst that I swapped a neo and trans into.i have an open stock rb20 diff in it right now and I want to upgrade it. What diff would be best or just get kaaz 2way?

This makes me so happy! thankyou.
Wow when turned around at all the parts my draw dropped. Geez
Oh dude ur giving this away!!! I’m gonna have to get in on this.. I’d literally cry if I won this ever
Great stuff, Lord Tommy
Looking forward to that gearbox/trans video Tom
The diff you were counting the revolutions on has a LSD,if you turn the prop flange and both driveshaft flanges turn the same way,it’s got a LSD,or someone has welded it,😂😂

Gotta hate when you found a forum topic, but then the pics are dead.... lol
Is Adams 32 getting a hks engine ?
Sir Fyeah, your chariot GT-R is ready.
All of this information pleases me
I don’t any S or R chassis cars, yet I’m still looking forward to the next installment of this series. Hopefully I win the S13 giveaway.
People make custom drive shafts everyday just stating the obvious I hope
This is sick
Gotta make that cash in anyway
