I'm still using a smartwatch cost me $9 to provide all these features, obviously Chinese for 1.5 years now! The best thing about cheap tech is you don't care much about its aesthetic and beauty and can use it rough.
For the use case, I get at least 7-9 days on a single charge. Although I wear it roughly 2 hours a day, it's always on. It connects extremely well with other devices. And I think that's the best use case - to control with your watch ~ like phone notifications, cutting a call (still don't know why Apple doesn't allow people to cut their phones if the phone is locked), changing music, and the step counter.

Nice review, Marques. This looks very similar to my Wyze 47, which has worked flawlessly for 2+ years. I don't use constant heart rated monitoring or raise to wake, so a full charge is good for 2-3 months. Some good value to be had in these budget friendly devices!

As a fellow Wyze 47 watch user, this also gave me major comparisons to this. With the Wyze being $30 vs $69, but with added features with this watch, it gives me second thoughts to upgrade to it. As Wyze doesn't seem to release or update our watches any more.

      @heroedeleyenda05 5 місяців тому

I agree that he should do more budget friendly devices. but i think he should still only stick to the ones that really stand out from the rest.
which is what he does right now.
you've got this, he did one on the pocophone f1, he reviewed the mpow headphones.
those are devices that really have something that differentiate them from other budget tech.
so he does review budget tech, but he is more selective. i think instead of doing 1 or 2 budget devices each year, he should do 5 or 6.
but he needs to still stay selective.
there are great channels that do high quality reviews of budget tech. i used to follow a couple, back when i was going trough a financial rough patch, and couldnt afford premium phones that werent 4 years old.
but to be honest, when you can afford premium tech, the budget options are not an option anymore. because you give up a lot of things when you go budget.
the cameras always suck, screen quality sucks, processor speed sucks, and you start to appreciate the premium stuff again.
but there is a need for low budget tech when you're counting every dollar you make. but once youre back on your feet, all the budget tech blends together.
dont get me wrong, i still enjoy a great deal on a low budget item. but it has to really stand out from the rest. just like mpow headphones did back before they got cancelled.
the pocophone f1 was a great budget device with premium features, but a tech item, has to be at that level of price advantage for me to even consider it anymore.
if I want something cheap, i just look for a used premium item that is 1 or 2 years old.

I would like to make one suggestion: Could it be possible for you to include a low budget category in the next smartphone awards? For example below $250. I like the value category, but feel like it would be a great addition to the video. Partly because I own a phone within this category and probably the next one will also be similar. However, mainly because worldwide it is a very important segment in my opinion as most people do not have a lot of money and like to have a smartphone. For example in Asia, the below $250 segment makes up a very significant percentage of the total smartphone market.

Hey @mkbhd, I've been a fan for a while, but I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed with this video. I dropped a more detailed comment on your $169 phone video too. I respect your position as one of the top tech reviewers globally, but there seems to be a gap in your understanding of affordable devices, especially those used by people daily in places like India.
It would be fantastic to see you explore tech from different parts of the world, especially considering the remarkable yet budget-friendly devices available here. India, for instance, has some hidden gems that surpass the quality of what's featured in your recent video and are more pocket-friendly.
I understand you might focus on devices readily available in the U.S., but broadening your horizons could bring a fresh perspective to your reviews. Moreover, your take on EVs in a previous video left me wanting more. There's an impressive EV scene in India that's worth exploring, showcasing innovation and quality that might surprise you.
Come experience it for yourself; the love you'll get from the people here is unmatched. I'm confident that exploring tech beyond the U.S. market will provide a richer perspective for your audience. Looking forward to more diverse content from your channel!

Great watch! Its a good watch. Came across it in store the other day. Definitely would recommend it for anyone looking for an entry level smartwatch. However if you can spend a lil more money id advise going into the $200 range coz thats usually where the jump is between the base smartwatches and the mid range smartwatches. But definitely good for an entry for someone just looking for the basic functions as a companion watch.

I recently got an Apple Watch Ultra clone from AliExpress for $10 and it had a much better metal body with Apple-like finish, much smaller screen bezels and wireless charging. Everything else like the UI, sensors etc sucked but the build quality was surprisingly good.

As someone who owns one of these, I feel like you missed the mark on a couple things.
The build, Idk how the hell you got "plastic feeling" from the aluminium body body but I handed it to my IT coworkers and asked them what they thought it felt like and they ALL said, "aluminium" and a few said, "aluminium with some sort of coating on it".
Secondly, the button, I asked them if the Burton felt "cheap" and they said it doesn't, it doesn't have an audible click but that's fine, it still feels firm and assuring.
    Otherwise great review.

@@SuperEhima They abuse the YT API to create 100's .. 1000's of accounts, then they use a.i. to try to create organic seeming comments and conversations that they spam all over YT's most popular videos/channels.
They insert unique terms .. like in this case "Amazons AMK33X" .. which they hope the buzz they think they're creating around it will make people curious enough to go searching for it. This will eventually lead some victims to convincing looking sites where they can be lured into a crypto scam.
For awhile they were just inserting W-App numbers into the comments, hoping people would text them. Then they started making long threads with dozens of bots all replying to each other with fake questions, answers, and testimonials about how much they've made from this wonderful new (whatever) or by using the services of so & so financial advisor etc.
It's come a long way from the days of broken english obvious scams .. and although this sort of thing probably does look obvious to more experienced net users, I fear that at least some small percentage of innocent people could .. definitely *_will_* .. lose some of their hard earned money to these criminals.
Sorry for the long response. If you see these comments, please consider reporting them as spam so maybe we can protect others, and if you feel like going the extra mile, go to their channel and report the whole channel as "scams".

I bought a Huawei Band 7 for $30 and it's stylish, tracks steps, sleep, my swim strokes and timings, wakes me up in the morning and eliminated the need for alarms, a flashlight on my wrist in pitch darkness, battery lasts a week.
For $30. The only thing it can't do is take calls and NFC payments. But $30. Amazing piece of tech.

I think a big win for this CMF watch compared to other budget watches (if the spec list is accurate) is that it has GPS built-in which is a deal breaker for me.
I'm in the uk and can't seem to find anywhere to buy it.
Ive been using the Amazfit Bip S for a few years now and its feature rich and looks better that the CMF. Im probably going to upgrade to the Bip 3 for £69 and looks to outclass the CMF in my opinion.

    • @DiesOnAToilet
      @DiesOnAToilet 5 місяців тому

Yeah, that surprised me too. I like to keep GPS off on my phone except when I need it (mostly) to save battery life. So if I can do that and still have location function for the watch that would be cool. But I have a strong suspicion that the CMF app will ask / nag me about / or even insist that I also turn location on on my phone to use most location functions. That's the way these things usually work for whatever reason.

The only smart watch that can compete with this is the Mi Band 8, which retails from $50-65 and has slightly more functionality in a different form factor. I have the mi band 6, and this looks like a worthy upgrade in terms of style and usability (the mi band app is intrusive).
