- Despite being terrible at all sports, I somehow managed to get to hang out with Bernard Foley in Kyushu for 3 days and we had a blast! Kyushu Tourism took us through Fukuoka, Oita and Kumamoto prefectures and covered everything from soy sauce factories to Rugby World Cup to biking through Mt Aso. I hope you enjoy it!

I watched Bernie foley kill it on the footy field growing up because we went to the same high school. I also love watching your videos Hannah! So this is a crossover I could NEVER have expected… but god I love it!
Wow! What a wild coincidence! 😂 No I never could’ve predicted this collaboration either 😆
Another stunning video Hannah (and Chris!!)
Thank you Caitlin!
Thank you Hanna chan!! The whole atmosphere of this video was different from other videos, but it was so enjoyable!!☺️👏👏 I especially love the drone shots over the rugby field🏉😆
So glad you enjoyed it Lemi ☺️ These kinds of trips always feel a little different but I’m glad it still felt fun!
You can tell Chris is having his fun recording some quality videos that have a purpose for you both.
Love your videos!
Felt like so much is packed into this video/trip that I'll need to watch again. I'm so happy to see you get praised for your work and Bernard being flexible with filming. Close call with MT Aso, indeed too much volcano, and glad there were no casualties. Nice job, time to relax with some tea I hope. XD
Haha yeah it really was a bit of a whirl wind trip! Too much volcano indeed but glad it wasn’t us that was nearby (though I’m sure it would’ve made this video a heck of a lot more popular! 😂)
Thank you for showing off my home of Kyushu in such a beautiful way. I think you really captured not only the beauty, but also the power of this amazing slice of Japan. Your videos really are a joy to watch!
I've been planning a cycling tour around Kyushu for the past 2 years now. Will defs be adding some of these spots and activities to my list!
The drone shots are amazing as always, music on point, and love the camera you’re using while biking !! I’m going to have to google that one 👀
Oh yeah, it’s an Insta360 OneX. It’s great for this kind of activity because it captures everything!
The perfect timing once again! Loving the video and the cinematic is just 👌 I always have fun watching your videos and they really make my day
So happy to hear that ☺️ Thanks Sharon!
This and the previous Kyushu video - beautiful! I visited Kyushu for work many times in the 1997-2001 timeframe. We would stay near Hakata station and worked in Saga with a company there. A dear friend Tosa-san took three of us to Mt Aso for a day visit and then to meet his parents in Kumamoto. So many great memories these videos bring back. Thank you both!
Girl your music choices in this vid are 🔥 Loved this vid so much
thank you so much for this video, it made me smile so many times! like hanging out with a bunch of nice people in some amazing places, all from the comfort of my sofa heeheehee
Wow Hannah, another great video. I'm so happy you got this sponsorship, you work so hard and you deserve many more.
The visuals were once again stunning (big thanks to Chris also, I laughed so hard when you almost forgot him :p) and I love the music you've chosen. I always enjoy your videos so much, it feels like I'm travelling with you.
Kyushu is such a nice area to experience a different side of Japan. Glad you had such an amazing time there! Thanks for sharing!
Unagi no Nedoko is one of my favorite shops! The craftsmanship of every item is incredible. I unfortunately don’t speak Japanese, but one of the workers was able to tell me about the pants they sell, and how a few of them have stitching that depicts something unique from each prefecture in Kyushu, so for example the ones representing oita had an onsen symbol. Yame is amazing ! Love the vid!
Oh that’s awesome and so surprising to hear you know the store! The attention to detail is lovely ☺️
You and yours are so fun, simply nice to watch at a days end!
Such a cool video! I really enjoyed seeing all the activities. Would love to see an outtakes from this trip too
Another super high quality vlog. So inspiring.
Your videos are getting better with each one. I'd love to see more of Japan as we plan to go there for a monthy in 2023
Kyushu Tourism got a slick video from Hannah and Chris.👍 I'm sure it'll whet the appetite even more for those who are looking to travel again. The farm fields at 3:15 looked beautifully maintained, almost curated like an art installation with the curious looking red tractor(?) rolling through it.
Hannah!! I loved this so much!!
The drone clips at the end were simply incredible! 😍😍
Super cool stuff!
Planning to visit several places in Kyushu on my next journey to Japan as well.
Thank you for this wonderful video again!
Amazing work as always. I love the chill music choices. I always shy away from vocals in video editing, but this worked so well!
Fantastic video!
10/10 made me wanna go to Kyushu (again). 🥰
Every video I watch of yours these days, I just sit here and audibly mutter "holy shit" over and over
九州に来てくれてありがとうございます!
熊本はとてもいいところなのでまた来てください!
That was awesome and the extra bit of rugby to top it off … fantastic. The volcano going off the following week was freaky ….
I miss Kyushu so much. I was lucky to call it my second home almost 3 years before the pandemic. Literally got homesick from watching this haha
Will there be a longer version of the trip? It looks amazing as usual!
Definitely going there when i can !! Sooo nicee
Loved this adventure!
oh my... the places are so amazing, even the rooms are spacious and with great views at that....
Wow, such beautiful places and what an experience, you really deserve it with the consistent quality of work that you put out every single time. I just wish I could have seen more in detail from the individual places you went to and activities you did!
Thanks Emy! Yeah it really is hard to show things accurately when there’s so much on the itinerary 😅 but glad you enjoyed it!
@@CurrentlyHannah I can imagine it must be difficult! Sorry, I don't wanna be one of those viewers screeching "more content!!!!" 😆
@@emy7873 Haha no no I totally get it! I too would've liked more detail and a slower pace :P The next video is waaaay more detailed though, worry not!
I loved the music selection in this video
Very fun to watch. Hope to get to see those places through my own eyes in the future.
I hope you can too!
@@CurrentlyHannah just discovered 2nd Street on your Instagram. Lately I’m into second hand clothes, so thank you. There’s one 5 minutes by bicycle from home.
Love your videos ! Chris is still the best ;o)
What a trip! What a clip!
Wow, this felt almost as fast a bullet train, so much to taking in a brief time. Those were some beautiful locations. What was the place called where the rooms were slices of circular building. I like how the terrain used is kept in it’s original shape. I’m not sure what the official name or correct term used for those particular pools, but here I’ve heard them called thermal pools where cracks called thermal fischers where extreme heat ins escaping from the core to the surface. Some looked like thermal mud baths as well. There are some here in the west coast of the US like in Oregon and California, but none as thick as those shown in the video. Only place I’ve seen any thing close to those there are in Yellowstone National Park. What was the duration of your whirl wind tour? I’m curious as to the reason for those stairs being placed in the trail like that? Oh, and are those beds constructed like huge futons? Some of the footage your cuts were extremely brief, not even 3 seconds of some interesting places. It was nice of you to include the footage of that crater exploding after your visit. Okay, I didn’t get motion sticking at the speed of this video, but I am winded. Look forward to your next trek.
Two videos almost in a row, let's go!
Adored the music in this video.
i love this style
This is my literal dream. Travelling through Japan with my literal idol. Hannah, you have no idea how much I envy you, Bernie is the goat!
いつかキャンピングカーとかで九州一周とかしてみたくなった!
Nice to see a side of Kyushu I hadn't seen before. Aso was erupting the time we were there too, so we couldn't get closer than the approach road just out of town. It wasn't as explodey as the eruption a few weeks ago but it was cool to see it smokin' like a smokin' thing. Our cabin over in Kurokawa Onsen rattled with a few aftershocks that night. Not enough to spill any water from our onsen though.😂 I deadset want to try one of those mushrooms too.
Woooow that's pretty cool to get to experience it being pretty active (well more than usual anyway). Always cool when a volcano does the smoke thing :P
@@CurrentlyHannah Whenever I'm near a volcano I always wonder (stress 🤣) about how far away we have to be to outrun the pyroclastic flow. Answer: not far enough 😂
You can see your hosting skills coming thru in this video. Chris being the cameraman, seemed to make it easier for you to be natural. Music was paired well with the content! Drone shots were amazing. Mentioning the smells is usually missing in most videos. It helped that you mentioned what you were experiencing when it was aromatic. Thanks, learned a lot in this video.
Yes, the edit is so great!
I love your videos so much.
I am amazed by this beautiful videos.
wow this looked fun. damn girl.. you get to do some really cool stuff. good ol chris helping out with camera work again.
Haha thanks! Yeah we do get to do some fun things here ☺️ Very lucky!
Thank you for another amazing video, Hannah!
You make me wanna travel soooo much!!
God...
Hannahs videos are probably the closest I will ever get to seeing the splender and beauty of this country. Nary a video goes by that I don't see something awe inspiring.
Wish i could leave more than a thumbs up, your videos are amazing (also wish i could think of a better word than amazing) ❤️
Haha you’re too kind!
Production quality is off the charts
it's torture to watch your vids as i miss jpn soooo much i'm fkn dripping w envy. That trip u just did was top 7 in my bucket list..
Such quality.
Nice trip through parts of Kyushu, Hannah! I hope you might explain sometime how you get these offers from tourism boards, what it entails, what it covers, and how, upon reflection, your view is influenced by the sponsorship? I think it is awesome you have been able to position yourself to be offered these opportunities.,
Kireii! I used to live in Yufu-Shi so it’s great to see parts of my old hood.
Plus seeing my old rugby training ground.
This is a great video, very well produced. I love the music. Did you feel like driving was more convenient for most of these places you visited or are there convenient trains and buses?
Look at you, showing off those guns while drinking that tea! I feel like this trip could've been a dry run for one of those vacation trips you want to host!
That E-MTB little cycle around Mt Aso did look very good. Where do you rent them from, that plateau where the museum is?
(I hiked a bit around there. I imagine that knowing that if you had been doing that just a few days later you would have been roast might have a titillating edge... In reality I'm sure that whole area would have been an exclusion zone when the sensors started to show increased activity. Pretty massive phreatic eruption, though)
Nice to see 2 Aussie legends (+1 international 😉) fraternizing. Also, happy to see that the promotional gigs are starting to come back. 🙏, Hannah.
Speaking of Beppu, have you met Dogen?
Yeah the bikes can be rented from the where the Museum is, at the building in the video. And yes I think that’s why there were no casualties, because they have very good warning sensors that can detect any kind of activity so I’m sure nobody was allowed in around that time. Luckily!
That outro drone shot is killer
Such a cool landscape aye?
@currentlyhannah, love the vlog of Kyushu and can’t wait to go there. I’m super curious on the hotel you said in in the first part after you mentioned it’s smell. Can you let us know the name please?
Kinda want to go to Kyushu now :')
now i can sleep peacefully ...thank you
11:03 I like how the light reflected off your eyes seem to show what you probably felt when Chris scratched your ear
Hahah yeah it made my eyes look kinda cool!
Hannah is back again! ❤️❤️❤️
so excited!!
@@DrJustininJapan true! she’s my favorite vlogger that’s why! 🥰
Another great video. Whats the song at 2:49?
Miss you Kyushu
Have you been to Nara? They have beautiful temples!
A-S-O, too much volcanWAIT, wrong channel D: D: D:
Kyushu is definitely worth a two-week slow trip. My current plan is to fly in via Fukuoka (we don't fly into Kochi, sadly), ride a ferry to Ehime, then go around and across the whole island - bike, train, bus, hike, whatever it takes. Then bike across the Shimanami Kaido to work my way to Osaka where I'll fly out. RIP legs by then LOL
Thanks for the video, hope the country opens up to foreign tourism (maybe even emigration?) next year!
Agreed. That end of Japan deserves a lot of your time ☺️ Your trip idea sounds amazing! Good idea to go to Ehime while you’re there too.
@@CurrentlyHannah ...NGL I'm planning to do a DIY sake tour around Kyushu. The island apparently is a hotspot for sake? Not complaining though, sake is as complex as wine and there's so much to learn about it. Then I hear a lot of good things about tataki in Kochi. Maybe it's the inner caveperson in all of us that salivates at the thought of grilled stuff hahahaha
Damn. That 2nd hotel room looked so cool and unique.
It was awesome hey! Very cosy at night time too 😊
Priced the first one. Not in this lifetime I'm afraid. 😮
the thumbnail for this is so funny at first glance, i thought you photoshopped your heads on mountains like it was an 80s glamour shot lol
Hahahahah damn that’s funny and now I can’t unsee it!
cool video. my eyes locked on your shoes! looks really nice. is it a japanese branded shoes?
Those are just Nikes! I got them from a second hand store here for like $5! 😍
@@CurrentlyHannah wow! what a bargain!
Ooo wow. One day I must visit Kyushu! And those e-bikes would be the perfect way to get to explore a mountain with my supremely unsporty partner (provided they have a bike that's large enough for him!). Also, whoops, I'd been saying BERnard in my mind instead of berNARD and now I feel uncultured lol!
The e-bikes were SO good! The e should stand for easy cuz it felt like nothing riding these haha 😂 And don’t worry I think I was pronouncing it wrong the whole time. I think it’s supposed to be BERnard 🤷🏼♀️
An October video in December. Should have seen this sooner. Seeing this elsewhere, You tube is about old events.
11:02 your eyes looks so dope from the reflection, almost like anime eyes. The expression your making with your mouth though, tehehe too funny 🥴🤣💗
Just keep pressing 11:02 repeatedly omg hahahaha. "Aw-Aw-Aw-Aw yeah that's the stuff yeyeye" Forgive me I don't mean to make fun, just noticed this after posting the original comment
BLOOPERS BLOOPERS BLOOPERS
Wow! Super nice guys! 😊😊😊😊😊
Those 3 prefectures in 3 days is too fast and packed. I like the Yame tea the best in Japan because it tastes slightly sweet. You were half-lucky for Mt. Aso. We could see the bottom of the volcano from the top of edge before. The wonder of the earth.
Bernard Foley!!
3:45 からの景色!すばらしかー!Very wonderful!
Japanese nature and culture are enjoyed fully.
13:30 😂 大丈夫すかー!?
you earned a subscriber! fukuoka japan
Your whole video is a vibe. Dissolvable
maravilhoso
What was those large fans by the fields in the begining?!?
from OITA 💯🔥❤️
👍
beautiful
chris is such a talent with the camera, just wow 👌
He is, isn’t he :)
Wish there were more videos covering the scenes that didn't make the cut.
Cool video 😎
100%!!!
How cool to do a vlog with ex-Wallaby Bernard Foley. Hopefully, you will be able to broaden your fan base.
What's your camera setup and gears? Do you think you'd be able to do all this as successfully without showing your face? Maybe just captions or with voice but no face.
Mt. ASO?!?! THE LARGEST ACTIVE VOLCANO IN JAPAN 🇯🇵 😮 Wow, i literally just showed my students in Okinawa today videos of it erupting and killing people in October 😮 🌋 YOU ARE BRAVE SOULS 😂
Yeah the eruption happened only a week after we were there! So wild. Nature is amazing 😍
@@CurrentlyHannah Wow, so glad you are ok 👍 with all of your travels in Japan, it was inevitable that you'd have a close call with an active volcano at some point 😆 that would have been INSANE DRONE FOOTAGE though!!!
What's Up Gays 😂🙏😇
❤️
It's okay Hannah, I too would forget to thank my bf if I just took a trip with Bernard Foley.
😂
I didn't know that old mate Bernard is still playing rugby in Japan.
Lucky boyfriend
