@@willritchie7262 Hey man. Don’t know if you have been up it yet. I’d recommend the tourist path from Brodick just follow the path near the brewery can’t go wrong there I do it for trail running there’s another from Corrie but personally I think the tourist path has the best view overlooking the surrounding hills.
Was there in May 2018. Loved it. Walked from Corrie to the top of Goat Fell and back down to Brodick for a couple of well earned pints of the local Blonde Ale.
I fell in love years ago with Arran. A beautiful little pearl. Except the midgies that made me hide even deeper in my sleeping bag. But nature there is fabulous with all its wildlife, ty for sharing...brought back some good memories
Isle of Arran - feel good memories coming up. What a pleasure to see your video! Thanks a lot ! In 2017 I visit these island with some friends. Very nice and silent place to enjoy the pure nature of scotland. Recommendation !
It's true! I studied Spanish and Italian at uni so I have a huge respect for languages, I always make a concerted effort to try and speak a little everywhere I go. Welsh and Scottish place names are just so difficult to pronounce!
Whilst I have not done the horseshoe walk, I did walk up Glen Sannox as far as the saddle last year. It was amazing with snow-covered peaks surrounding the glen. I loved following your video.
Awesome! We just got back from there. The decent off the east side of Goat Fell was kind of rugged. We loved the trip, did the coastal way, inc the Postman's Walk :-]
A friend and I visited eons ago and traced his family heritage there. McMurchie...toured the Broddick Castle grounds and had a good pub meal with a few pints!😊 Isn't Holy Island just off shore....
best way to stop midges is to use a mint based shower gel like "original source" especially there black mint ... all midge repellent is based on mint i learned pretty young that they stay away from wild mint bushes/trees
@@RambleFamily the shower gel should last at least 12 hours ... when you first use it the skin tingles especially with the black mint ... one thing don't mask the faint mint aroma with strong perfume/deodorant
Very cool hiking vid. Big like 👍. I like your channel with climbing, hiking and vanlife. It is my style, too 😀. I subscribed your channel 😀 🧗♀️. Hope too see more , soon 😉
AHHHHHH thanks! @@RambleFamily I'm trying to be more consistent with my travel vlogs around the UK but without much success. Hopefully a nice music selection will kick stat me! x
It would have made good video or should I say, even better video, but of course I cant blame you for not getting in completley, I cant even manage a cold rinse after my shower. Excellent video, nevertheles... thank you.
@@michaelmoyle9518 : Um! One of them was her boyfriend Harvey, I don't think he will take too kindly to being described as a girl, despite the silly walk.😊
Goat Fell had been on my bucket list for years, and I was so happy when I finally made it.
what route did you take? hoping to go up very soon

Lovely video, Athena. Loved the music and scene at the end. Nice, gentle composition to close your adventure.

My favourite spot at 1.17. The small harbour and old gate leading to the castle. Beautiful video
Languages are like mountains themselves full of inflections, rises and falls. Hard sometimes but beautiful. Mark

That's interesting Athena considering I was being metaphoric. I love place names to as I'm hiking about. Have a good one....

I think Cíoch na hOige means " young hill " or " Hill of the young "
Almost exactly like our Irish language.
I think it means the maidens pap......

Yep, it's true! I went in about waist deep but it was so freezing cold and raining and all my clothes were getting wet haha!!
