No one is allowed to call Ricky selfish ever again. He's lowkey the MVP of the season, he's supporting everyone, especially Gina, Jet and Carlos. And he didn't confess his feelings even though he found out that Gina was single again to let her process and not overwhelm her. And he obviously respects EJ to a certain point, he didn't once try to interfere with their relationship like he did with Nini in season one. I just really love his character development
Thank you!! I'm still seeing people hating on Ricky everywhere and I don't get it. Like he's been amazing this season. He's been the most selfless character and he's actually learnt from the past and grown from that. As good human beings should do. Ricky is a gem and I'll fight anyone who thinks otherwise. 😂💕
I think so too he has everyone out and putting feelings for Gina has been really good to see but next ep I hope he does tell her, I do not want her to find in a documentary. and in font everyone

But honestly, judging by how the drama has been going this season, I think that's exactly what they're going to do. And probably at the end of the episode, leaving it on a massive cliffhanger until next season. I bet you that's what will happen. 😂🙈

I don’t ship Rina but I do agree he has been more respectful to Gina with her relationship than he was when Nini was dating E.J. I still don’t think Ricky deserves Gina because he still needs to apology for the way he treated her in season 2 by being a terrible friend. I just know that EJ is going to realize his mistakes and apologize to Gina and wants to start over with her in the next episode because I know he truly cares about her.
THE THING IS Ricky made all the right choices in this season while EJ made all the wrong ones. It sucks to say but EJ took Gina for granted. I love Portwell and Rina at the same time so I'm just in pain.
This!! I see a lot of ppl saying the writers villainized EJ this season but they really didn't. He just made some bad choices (which teenagers often do). That doesn't make him a terrible person it just means that he still doesn't know what it takes to be in a relationship and isn't ready. Also Gina was right about them being in different life stages
Yeah, I agree. Ej cares about gina but he just lost focus and that goes to show how they're in two completely different stages of their lives.

THE RINA CUE has been there since season 1 ep 5. They played it for every rina important rina moments. The only ship in the show that have their own music cue. And ppl saying rina came out of nowhere when the writers been planning this since s1 lol.
The rina cue is mainly there to amplify Ricky's feelings for Gina. It's a reflection of him and how he feels about her. It's only ever played in scenes where Ricky's emotions are at play hence why it was absent during season 2. I love that they're using it in this way + it's super pretty.

Ricky has been the best character this season, he has one of the best developments in the series, this Ricky is nothing like the one in the first season and I am glad to see how much he has grown

Gina’s mom is gonna come to the show, Ricky is gonna say hi to her. Gina sees from the distance and as soon as Ricky leaves. Gina goes up to her mom and asks how she knows Ricky. Then that’s when her mom says that “he helped me get you the chocolates”
OH MY GOD THAT WOULD BE PERFECT!! 🙊 I always speculated that Ricky might've had something to do with the chocolates. Like Gina left his house clearly devastated about her mum not getting her a valentines gift that year and you're telling me Ricky did nothing?! Nah, he was involved for sure. 🤷💕
That would he cute but then why'd it seem like he didn't give her the chocolates in s2? Like he could've just said that he put them on her porch

Them living two different summers gave me so much Camp Rock 2 vibes.
The scene of the boys being there for Carlos and the girls being supportive for Kourtney was so sweet.

I honestly think Gina's points in the break up scene were so valid, like EJ is finished high school he's moving on to a whole different chapter of his life, meanwhile Gina is still living her teenage life, doing cheesy goofy things etc. ALSO Ricky has grown so much since season 1 and I'm glad he didn't tell Gina this episode especially straight after her breakup. I can not wait for the finale!!!

I love Ricky this season he been trying to help everyone keep his thoughts, and feelings to himself also his friendship with Carlos is so cute I thought it was really sweet Carlos called him his hero season 1 Ricky would tries to bust ej ,and Gina relationship he has grown so much love how they made him lightheart, and funny❤.
Plus his friendship with Jet has been great as well
deep down gina definitely knew ricky didn't tell her the truth about what he said to carlos but you can tell she doesn't mind because of the "nothing wrong with a friendly fib" probably because she knows he held off because he knows they just broke up and doesn't want to overwhelm her :(
This season showed u that Ricky has matured this season he could’ve easily said to Gina that he has feelings for her but he saw that Gina and EJ broke up right now it’s not the time to express his feelings towards her right now

Yeah...no shade to Olivia. They did a nice job making season 3 feel like this was the original cast from the beginning. While I like Nini I honestly didn't miss her.

YESSS, personally idc about who gets together in the end but this episode was amazing, Ricky and Carlos' bromance is a fav, Kourtney's song and Dara songwriting is BEAUTIFUL, also hope you're okay and doing well :)
Kort scene got my more emotional then the Portwell break up. The break up shows Ej was really insecure about Rina dynamic. Also I'm glad Ricky didn't say how he felt. He letting Gina process. Seb is my life. I also want to say we have to understand Ej and Ricky are not really friends. It's just by association due to their friend group.

Like the parallel Here become one of the issue Ricky had with nini last season is he felt he wasn't really a priority for her ,and that her music was more important than spending time with him both Ricky, and Gina want something that feel stable they both didn't feel that with their partner.
Yeah. Both Ricky and Gina want someone who will be there for them. Though for Ricky and NIni, the issue with their relationship wasn't just because of Nini's priority being her music and stuff, it was the fact they didn't understand communication. Both Ricky and Nini was just a toxic relationship that would never work out. From what we've seen in S1 to now, they've been building up for a Ricky and Gina relationship. Ricky and Gina, have a lot of things incommon and are good friends, though you know that there is feelings there.
Ricky’s character growth is AMAZING
look i'm not a portwell. i never was and i never got how ppl even liked them in the slightest (until yesterday where i realized portwells saw certain growth in ej that was never actually there which made it less obvious that the ship was just a plot device for rina). but ur the only one coming from a pw perspective that i've seen react to this reasonably. i feel like everyone that enjoyed pw was constantly making excuses for ej and completely disregarded gina in the process. but u actually saw ej's faults, held his character accountable to them and adjusted ur standpoint based on that and i just wanted to say that i really appreciate that!
When Seb came out and kissed Carlos....to be honest I screamed out of joy as well.
Ashlyn looked so jealous when she met Madison and was straight up sizing her up and I’m living for it.

Ricky has been a star all season, and has grown SO much! He really has been putting Gina’s needs above his own, even helping to fix her relationship with EJ despite how much it hurts him. They way that Rina has been build up is so satisfying; I can’t wait for season 4.
If Rina is going to have their first kiss next week in the frozen play to the line "I could kiss you, I mean may I, may we" "we may" I'm gonna scream, it would be so cute

This episode was really good. I love how they highlight the bond and friendship between them Kourtney was amazing. Gina did the right thing breaking up with EJ, he make her feel unwanted and she deserves more than that, and even worse EJ never actually apologize or recognize his mistakes instade he tries to blame Ricky.
I think EJ is going to realize his mistakes in the next episode I know he really cares about her. I know he made some mistakes but I don’t think he was a bad boyfriend to Gina. I still need Ricky to apologize to Gina for the way he treated her in season 2 by only talking to her to get relationship advice after she told him that she likes him.

Gina served the brutal truth and I loved it.
I love the friendship between the girls this season I think they tried to do some of that last season it didn't was as good here Kourtney song was beautiful Dara has a wonderful voice the girls cheering for her as she climbed up the wall to overcome her fear ,and anxiety was a beautiful moment.
See look as problematic as it is that Ricky didn't tell Gina, he actually made a hero move. Cause like, he definitely didn't wanna freak her out while she was going through so much. And also he was probably thinking like, I don't wanna take advantage of her being in a highly emotional state

Adam I absolutely love seing your reation to the hsmtmts episodes, you're the best! I know that not all people think like me, but I'm absolutely loving this season. Love the bromance between Carlos and Ricky which started in season 2, love the Kourtney path dealing with anxiety and her and Carlos overcoming their fears. Love the girls supporting each other. Love that we got to have Seblos in this episode, I miss Seb so much. Love that Jet and Maddox resolve their problems and Ricky helping Jet was the cutest. Love how Ashlyn is discovering that her world and her heart are bigger, her realizing that she doesn't only like boys is amazing. Loved having Maddox and Maddison dancing together at the camp prom. I'm loving how much hilarious this season his. And finally I'm loving how Rina is and will be the slowburn I noticed since the first season. The truth is that, yes, I found Rini and Portwell cute and I was not opposed to it, but Gina and Ricky have a different and special bond since the beggining. They get each other, they tell things to one another that they weren't able to tell to any other person. After Gina went away in season 1, Ricky got back to he was used to, since he was so afraid of change, but the truth is that his relationship with Nini didn't make him a better person, on the contrary. Like he said during this season he let Gina slipped away through his fingers. In season 2, EJ gave Gina what she needed and didn't have with the person that she wanted at the moment, but I think that she and EJ rushed a little bit into a relationship that like she said in her breakup didn't have a chance to start. The pressure EJ his under is comprehensible, but Gina doesn't have to put up with her boyfriend not showing up, specially when she gave him opportunity after opportunity and he didn't take them, he even has the audacity to make it about Ricky and do not apologize about his actions. I don't think that Ricky and Gina should rush into a relationship, but I truly hope it happens during season 4. During this season Gina was indeed focus on EJ and Ricky was finally free, finally him and realized what he really feels for Gina without any reservations, however she is in a relationship and he was nothing but respectful towards it, even tough it hurted him, he was putting Gina feelings first and that's why he didn't tell her about was caught on camera when she was crying, neither when he found out that she and EJ broke up, he didn't take advantage of her vulnerability. Their interations this season were as friends, even tough their chemistry is undeniable and the eyes never lie, but I truly think that with that final prom scene when Gina's looking for EJ and finds Ricky already looking at her and dancing, trying to make her happy, she's kind of figuring out that the person that has really showed up and stayed around is Ricky. And for the people that say that Ricky is always define by a relationship, is not true, he is single, he grown so much, he finally accepted change and his feelings for Gina are there since season 1, he was just afraid and choose to stay like it was before, cause was safe for him. And yes he realized his true feelings towards Gina, but they're friends, he also helped Jet, had an amazing plot with Carlos... Ricky is more than a romantic relationship, so is Gina, so is every single person in this show and that is what's great about it.

As a queer Seblos stan, I honestly loved this episode so much, and it's my favourite of the season. I finally got my boys back, and the fact that we actually got to see the kiss properly, unlike in 2x05 when they filmed it in an angle so we couldn't see it, made me so happy because it's such a great progress! Not gonna lie, I cried so many times during the episode because it just hit so well. I was so proud of Carlos and Kourtney. Kourtney is braver than I am, I could've never done that (I'm terrified of heights). Carlos, with his insecurities... I was so happy that Seb was there when he was facing his fears, as well as that Seb was the one to tell Ricky and EJ that Carlos wanted to do it. It shows to me that Seb is the person Carlos leans on for support. And also, I've had my insecurities too over the years, I could truly relate to him. Maddox and Madison made me so happy too, we finally got the wlw rep as well, which I really appreciate! I loved Jet and Maddox making up, and singing Wouldn't Change a Thing, followed by Seblos joining in halfway. We're getting closer to a proper Seblos duet!!! I got some hopes for S4!
One of my favourite moments gotta be when Carlos gave Ashlyn the pride pin! It was so special and the fact that we actually got a moment like that brought me so much joy!
Despite the love triangle drama, this episode was for the gays and the anxious, and as someone who's both, it really brought a lot of comfort❤

if he really cared about her he would have made time for her they had almost no time together but she had a lot of time to talk to Ricky has shown up for her constantly this season and I really love that and in season 2 episode the field trip episode she always said she wants a guy to stick around
I love ashlyn is embracing herself, and I'm on board for ash ,and Maddox but she definitely need to break up with big red when she literally crushing on someone. So cute Carlos is welcome ashlyn in the community. Speaking of Maddox so happy to to see her ,and jet finally get a good moment with each other I love this siblingships this pretty much confirms jet ,and Maddox are transfer to east high next season.

As a person with anxiety, I don’t think they showed it the right way with Kurtney. She appears to just be nervous and overthinking about the play and playing a main role. Which it is important and I do get why she could be feeling like that, but it was very sudden. She never showed big signs of having an anxiety disorder on the previous seasons. They should have showed more moments of her alone overthinking everything, wanting to leave camp, breaking down, more of that would have made it more realistic. Since she is shown with friends fir most of her scenes and she must act normal there.

As for the Portwell breakup, this might be controversial but I believe they were always just a plot device for Rina. Like in season 2 Ricky and Nini were together while Gina pined for Ricky and Ricky realized that him and Nini aren't meant to be. And in season 3 Gina and EJ were together while Ricky pined for Gina and Gina realized that her and EJ aren't meant to be. Like that parallel is too much to ignore. It's like the writers are saying that Ricky and Gina can give each other exactly what they need in a relationship. Also in the season 2 finale they did the song Second Chances and I believe that was coded about Rina. "There was something in the summer wind, a moment to begin again." "What can make the tide turn, what can make the fire burn." etc. Idk but I think the writers of this show are very clever and have planned this all since season 1. 🤷
As for the other parts of this episode. I have mixed feelings about the Ashlyn stuff, it's fantastic that she's happy with her new found sexuality but I hate how she seems to have completely forgotten about Big Red. I honestly hope they keep them together, at least for now. Because if Big Red shows up in the finale and Ashlyn breaks up with him because of her new crushes on girls I'll be p*ssed off frankly. I really hope the writers are better than to fall into those damaging bisexual stereotypes. 🙈 I loved Seb being back, that was my favourite part of the episode. I've missed him and missed Seblos SO much. I want them to be more central to the storyline next season. 🤞 And I loved that Maddox and Jet have finally made up, I hope they're in season 4 because I love them. And I'm totally with you about Maddox and Ashlyn, they have so much chemistry so I'd be here for that relationship if it's done in the right way. 💕 And all the stuff about Kourtney facing her anxiety and Carlos facing his insecurities while that inspirational song was playing really made me cry. I struggle with both anxiety and body insecurities. So that moment meant so much to me. 😭
But yeah this episode was fantastic. And to anyone who actually read this far lol I'm sorry about how long this is. There was just a lot to say after this episode ok. 😂🤷

Even now I wasn't mad at EJ, I never was because I understand him, but I was disappointed and wanted them to break up. They're in different points of life. Now the age does matter in a way, which is sad. EJ has so many important things going on and this is fine but Gina needs something different fair enough.

I love how happy Jet is now that he repaired his relationship with Maddox. But now I’m curious as to what their storyline is gonna be in season 4. I’m pretty sure Maddie’s situation will have something to do with her crushing on Ashlyn. But I don’t know Jet’s situation (most likely him crushing on Kourtney?)

Seriously what have they done to EJ. This guy is two seconds away from a complete nervous breakdown from all the pressure his dad and the documentary crew are putting him under. None of his friends are there for him at all; Kourtney gets a support song but he doesn’t! And now he’s lost Gina, who I feel at this point was his last tether to sanity. If this guy doesn’t get a hug in the finale, I will sue. This season has quite literally destroyed his life in every way and he did NOT deserve it.
and the fact that ashlyn hasn't even check up on EJ like where are our Caswell cousins??

Buckle up Wildcats! I love that line I couldn't resist using it. I'm not feeling ready for the season 3 final episode next Wednesday I'm emotional that Portwell is not working out so well I think I'm team Rina as well I really just want great happyiness for these characters They're all so special to me. I'm instrested in what ever happens next on the last episode of season 3 I really enjoy being a huge fan of the whole HSMTMTS I'll be looking forward to season 4.

As much as I enjoyed the episode, I was saddened by the Portwell breakup. But I could see it coming unfortunately with the way EJ was handling it all. The main thing I gotta remember, the camp is supposed to be what, 3 weeks? It feels like it's months of events going on haha

I personally think that the best parts of the episode were Mads and Maddox, and Ashlynn's current plotline. Like, I'm sorry but I couldn't care less about the Rina/Portwell love triangle, like c'mon, Ricky doesn't need to be defined by a relationship. And Gina should be single for awhile after this. But, on a good note, WE GOT SEBLOS CONTENT AS WELL AS MADS AND MADDOX!! The gays are winning today!
But I think season 4 might be weird now that Ashlynn has discovered more about herself at camp without Big Red this season. Like, I'm now questioning whether they'll be together or not at the end. Especially with Maddox and Jet confirmed for season 4. And will they address the Nini stuff, like, are they going to say she moved schools or going to focus on a music career?
BUT MOST OF ALL I NEED MISS JENN AND MR MAZZARA BACK IN THE SHOW AS REGULARS NEXT SEASON!

I have never been a Rina shipper. When it first started I loved Gina but didn't ship her with Ricky, and season 2 he didn't appreciate her much at all. This season, I was absolutely clutching Portwell for dear life because they were really cute. But now, I probably ship Rina. Because Ricky appreciates her and she isn't getting hurt by what Ricky is doing. They're there for each other, they appreciate each other, and Ricky has grown so much that I finally think I can get on board with it
Honestly, Sebi coming is one of the few good thing about this season
Ej is a terrible boyfriend I think he has alot of growing up to do I really hope he get redemption by the end of the season, and don't become unlikable.
I disagree with EJ being a terrible boyfriend he was trying his best but he was stressed. But Ricky was a terrible friend to Gina in season 2 and he still hasn’t apologize for his behavior.

I think I’m team EJ… yeah he’s made some dumb choices but he said if this play doesn’t work out he’ll have to move away so you can’t blame him for doing everything in his power to not let that happen and stay with everyone. But you also can’t blame Gina for not wanting to wait around so idk😭

I don't see how they're going to tie up all the loose ends in one episode left. Ashlyn is *just* discovering more about herself (and I'm rather sad Big Red didn't show up at Camp Prom like Seb did), Kourt is trying to come to terms with her anxiety and I feel like she still hasn't despite conquering the rock wall - the true test is the show and opening night, Maddox and Jet still seem like they need to explain a few things (him getting expelled which was mentioned and conveniently forgotten about, him only showing the texts because "wait, she's allowed to date and I'm not?", etc) to fully end that plotline. And I'm so sad for Portwell but I really hope this doesn't mean they're teasing Rina - again - and if they are - if there's gonna be a Season 4, based on how this show's been going, most likely there'll be another main cast ship breakup. Seems like there's one every season.
Also, scheduling Camp Prom the night before opening night of the show was a bad idea for Shallow Lake. Like. That's too much pressure on EJ, but even so, he still should have tried to have fun instead of focused on being big boss man director. Like. You're here with your friends -- why not make the most of it?
I honestly think that Ricky's gonna attempt to tell Gina before the "big reveal", and then the big reveal happens before he's able to finish his sentence and then more drama ensues. With the way this season has gone, it wouldn't surprise me!
I loved the episode. Kinda mad next week's the finale. I feel like we just got the show back and now it's already over again. Hopefully they'll announce Season 4 soon -- they always take their time with those, it seems.
