    Definitely interesting stuff! Glad to be in on the bottom floor with one of your series. :) I'll keep watching this one.

      I can say it's fairly addictive. It's got that "one more thing to do" feel to it. :)

    I've played Spintires and Mudrunner, have bought Snowrunner but haven't played it yet.
    The only tip I could offer now is that it's a good idea to just drive around and uncover the whole map by finding all the watchtowers if possible.
    That will help going forward because you'll have full map function and can see where everything is and plan your route.
    I usually use a small vehicle as a scout, uncover the whole map, then work on finding and setting up the vehicles I need to do the jobs.

      Thanks, General! In the next episode I'm going to try to find some watchtowers with the pickup, and I'm starting to get the sense that the thinking on how to approach a map is a big part of the game. I think that'll take some time, but I'm going to look for some of the easy jobs first. :)

    Enjoyed the episode. I don't learn from lessons so much as watching someone learn the game...lol. Good Job! Blessings

    I saw some gameplay from this game previously, and really liked the look of it. Looking forward to the series.

    Hey Zilla, so please you're playing this. I'm a big fan of your ETS2 & ATS series and was going to recommend this one to you, but clearly, others beat me to the punch. I'm just about to complete Michigan and found a really good walkthrough on Reddit. Although it doesn't account for some of the newer DLC it covers about 90% of the missions. The thing I love about this game is the strategy that goes along with it.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому +1

      Interesting, I've made a note about the walkthrough, thank you! For the moment I think I'm just going to try playing and see how it goes. I get a sense I'll get stuck at some point, either by not having the right upgrades to complete a mission, or just doing missions that are way too hard. I've played a bit forward, and your comment about strategy makes a lot of sense, for sure. I wasn't expecting that part, either. I'm looking forward to playing more! :)

    I Purchased this when it first came out and it was one of my clean out the Steam wishlist but unfortunately it kinda went to the back burner. I checked my Steam and boom there it is. Imma go do some playing now. BRB Thanks Zilla!

    Most of the parts of the trucks and cars are upgradable once you get to/discover the garage. There are hidden upgrades all over the terrain. Check map after you discover it. It's a very slow game though and patience is your best friend. Have fun and thanks for the videos!

      Thanks, SimulationKris! I can say that I've hit a bit of a speed bump in just the second mission, but it's ... definiitely my fault. And my initial thought was to just do missions, but I think your point to explore the map is a really good one. In any case, I'm looking forward to playing more! :)

      Well, without giving too much away I can say that I definitely made up for it in my second mission. :) I think I'll continue for a bit, for sure. Despite the ... frustration ... of the second mission, it's been challenging and fun so far. Onward!

    You’ve found a new one! From the name alone, it sounds like it’s going to be difficult, but I’m sure you’ll do fine! The way you’ve described it sounds exciting! 3:20 the amount of times people do that in the UK and flood the engine is hilarious! 😂 8:40 get out of the way bin! 🤣 Wouldn’t it be nice if bridges just built themselves quickly like that in real life? Definitely more episodes of this one please!

      Thanks TS! I'm really curious to see how the game unfolds, as I imagine pretty quickly we're going to get into tougher missions and need better stuff than the starter truck. I'm looking forward to playing more and will be continuing with episodes too. ~ And yeah, that water spot at 3:20, wasn't really sure how things might go but figure we need to push the edge of the envelope now to get a sense for how things play. :) Looking forward to playing more, thanks for stopping in. :)

      We get to go to Alaska right after this, but I think I'm going to stay in Wisconsin for a bit. Alaska looks pretty hard with all the snow and ice. We need better trucks first. :)

    Any mass market wheel should work with this game and maybe it just needs some fiddling in the setup. I prefer to play this with one hand on the wheel and one one the mouse to control the camera. Later on the camera angles are pretty important to go around large stones and deep mud. Don't expect to be driving this fast later on in the game Zilla Blitz or you'll destroy your truck quite fast :)

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the tips! The wheel I've got is super old, like 12+ years old, so I think I just need to take some time to set it up manually and figure things out bit by bit. The viewing element seems key, and I like your idea to look with one hand and drive with the other, so far that's working pretty well on the controller, and I like that I have access to other commands pretty quickly too. I'm going to keep hacking away at the wheel settings but drive on with the controller for now. Thanks for stopping in!

    I really love the core of this game. It’s a big improvement from Mudrunner and seems like a true sequel rather than a different game entirely. What I don’t like is how obtuse the game can be. It seems to be purposely tuned to be annoyingly inconvenient to the player. It will be interesting to see if you have a different take.
    One example right from the start is that they give you a bunch of crappy trucks that aren’t strong enough to do the jobs that you’re first given. I struggled for hours to complete these jobs before it occurred to me to sell the five crappy old trucks that I started with and use the money to buy two strong trucks that are up to the task.
    I’m tempted to restart this game because I have a wheel now. Plus I have the knowledge that instead of being a collector of the trucks, I need to sell the old and buy the new. And as I’d mentioned, I really do love the core gameplay mechanics.
    What made me give up on the game is there was a mission where I needed to carry fuel to a truck that was out of fuel and drive it back to base. It turned into a downward spiral of all of my trucks running out of fuel in that remote area. Probably my fault not the game’s fault. But all I really wanted to do is drive big trucks through the wilderness and complete the jobs. I wasn’t interested in mundane logistical stuff like fuel management.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  2 роки тому +1

      Interesting reflections, thanks Demian! Only having done the first job, I don't have a good sense for how the progression works. I was thinking the DLC trucks look pretty good, at least compared to the pickup truck and beat up truck I was driving in this episode. :)
      I have heard there are places where you can get really stuck, and it sounds like you hit one of them, for sure. I think I'm going to keep going some, as I really like the structure and challenges they are throwing at me, well at least so far.
      I'd be curious to hear how you like the wheel set up, too. My old wheel just isn't connecting well to the game. Really time to invest in a new one. :)
