One of the better ideas I got from this video is to use my curved front rack attached to my hi hat stand wrapping around the outer shells of my drums for a sleek design the only thing in question is break down and build up time but it is worth a shot if I free up a figure 8 clamp by attaching the rack to the hi hat stand I can add a shoulder piece with the pre-existing figure 8 clamp now free'd up
Those remo TSS pads are so hard to find and cost quite a bit, too. Unfortunately! I've wanted one ever since I saw Jojo Mayer utilize it as an aux snare.
Stick Trix can you do a video talking about Roland Triggers and how you used live? Or playing (much better eheheh) and demo for us fans? please? We in Brasil Love so much your way of drumming and teaching, me and my friend are planning to go to your Camp :)
Hey Thomas, Ive actually been trying to build rack like this for a while but because they are rather expensive ive been trying to piece out all the math in my head for pipe lengths and such. I was wondering what lengths the side racks are horizontally and vertically. thank you, jacob
Really really really interesting tour! Why dont you use the internal MAY mics on the toms? It seems they are in the snare and bassdrums, but not on the toms.
antiago1983 I have the May system installed in all of my drums except for the short stack tom toms on this kit. The floor toms do actually have mic's inside too. The short stack toms are too shallow to mount the internal system hence my decision to record all of the drums externally to get a more even and consistent sound. Check out the tour of my kit from 2014 and you'll see all the internal mic's on that kit. Thanks!
How does Thomas set his dw 9000 kick pedal cam adjustments? The stock accelerator position, the turbo position or somewhere in the middle? Also how much spring tension 1 to 10. 10 being max tension. Thanks in advance
Hey Thomas, great videos! Just wondering - what tension do you have on your bass pedals? I have a DW 9000 and can't seem to get it exactly how I want it. Just wondered if you were doing anything in particular to make them comfortable and quick for you. Thanks!
That's really quite amazing. Huge Thomas Lang fan and such an inspiration. Have watched and studied him for years. How cool would it be if he replied? :P haha.
I don't know why I keep watching these. I'm more familiar with Thomas Lang's drum setups than I am my own.
These are actually the training videos for Thomas Lang's tour drum tech
thanks mr lang the best drum kit tour ive ever seen brand new 2015
We'd love a tour every year please ;) :)
Great info, Thomas is the King, Camera man fired!!!
Is Darth Vader filming this?
Thanks Thomas these are my favorite
Thanks for the breakdown. Infinite wisdom!
This needs a 2018 update... man time flies

Thank you Thomas...

Hey Lang, please do a set up vid, specifically how you set up. Snare height, drum stool height and your body height.

Nice!! How much does this whole thing cost?? I mean the whole drum, with cymbals, rack and all these stuffs! Can someone guess?

thank you,

Would love to know the parts/dimensions of the custom snare/tom stand he made. There's a Gibraltar system that's similar, but not quite as good.
Nice to be able to have a DW9000 pedal to play an effect with?. I cant even afford one 9000 pedal on my bass drum ?.
Keep your it must be nice statement to yourself, haters #1 saying
very good lessons

Ohh yes, I haven't thought about the very limited height of the toms. Long life to power shells! :D
Bye and again good job

@@larrytate1657I know I'm super duper late but he says that he keeps all pedals in stock condition. So in accelerator position
How did you mount your snare stand on the rack tubbing?
When are you coming back to Brisbane, Australia?!

Anyone know the band?
I really detest racks, simply because they take away from the beauty of a kit but yours is done very tasteful.
i liked that transparent sonor set, but this DW sounds really fat and strong more than another
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The cameran is snoring while filming? Sleepcaming? Cool.
tsavavaa I guess the cameraman is a fat man ;) they always breathe like this
The druminator does not like moving parts it makes him a less efficient drumming machine
I like racks you don't see - Thomas Lang 2015
drums hardware porn... btw, Thomas really pulls engeniering to the next level : p
4:34 It’s showing it’s not level. lol
My drum kit tour is fruity loops overview video
