That looks awesome! I love the way you can see people unboxing a DJI Phantom, their first ever aircraft, then video it in a perfect hover on their mobile phone! I can remember repeatedly crashing my 4 channel FPV helicopter within seconds of take off in those comparatively software free years - my first ever CX-10 flight was longer than my total flying time in that older helicopter! I can imagine some of the Phantoms uncooperativeness would be slightly infuriating in the Australian outback though! Here in the Scottish rain, I'll have to wait for Cheerson to make a nano indoor shrunken version of the Phantom...
HI, Been following you for over a year. Noticed that the location of this video reminds me of some spots on the way to Palm Springs. Actually I’l be there next week and planning to take my Mavic and Spark. Can you suggest some places that are not too far off from Palm Springs? I would really appreciate it.
I enjoy your manner, sometimes making mistakes but laughing them off, but overall entertaining and informative. I cannot find you having reviewed the Autel X-Star; any reason why? Mike in Oz
The P4P does not use goggles. It uses WiFi for control of its features and viewing of its in flight video. This means you should use a compatible tablet for viewing and control. Apple iPad tablets seem to work the best with this.
DJI Go 4 app update...May 27. Phantom 4 Pro...Be cautious... my update changed the manual controls...It was windy, so brought it home....didn't like where it was landing, so took manual control and the Up control was now Forward!!! Crashed into rocks immediately! Minor damage...2 broken props and 1 prop guard...check settings before you fly!
It's not an app. It's a built-in feature on my NVIDIA Shield K1 tablet. The K1 was designed for gamers. And with that in mind they built-in a screen recorder feature. It even includes recording the front camera as a window overlay if you also want to include your reactions while playing the game. All in all, the K1 is a neat tablet that I've really been pleased with.
I noticed you were in beginner mode. Could that be the reason draw did not work as expected. I don't have the 4, I have the 3 which does not have the upgraded features. Anyway, been a fan for several years, great video as always. Thanks for all you do....
I saw that you had an update waiting when you were in the initial systems check. Always check to be sure you have all quad/TX (RC) updates installed prior to a flight session. I'm also hoping that you DID NOT allow the Nvidia Shield K1 to update to Android 7.0, code name Nougat. There are known issues with Nougat on the Shield K1 tablet (I talked to both Nvidia and DJI .. they are both aware of it). I'd never had a problem using the Shield tablet .. until I let it update to Nougat .. then this past week, on a shoot, the app crashed when I landed (after flying out over a creek over 1000 ft.). So, I rolled back my Nvidia Shield K1 back to Android 6.0.1, which is stable with both DJI GO and DJI GO 4 (you should be using the latter). Rolling back from Nougat is a little "geeky", but not impossible to do. I think I'm going to keep my Shield at 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) even if "OREO" (android 8.0) comes out this June. There is a bit of a learning curve on all those flight modes, so keep working at it. Fortunately, there are YT vids online which demo all the "intelligent flight modes", which can be of help (depending on which one you watch). Nice scenery on your shoot. Cheers.
Well, you are entitle to do what you feel like with your quads. Some of the updates FIX known problems, so before you disregard them, why don't you go to DJI's site and READ what the update does. I've always updated my P3A ... and never had an issue. Your experience may be different, but of all the "Drone Companies" out there, I find DJI to be the most diligent. I also doubt very much that DJI releases FW which is not tested (unlike Xiaomi and their MI product).
Great video... I love that location, Can you tell us how to get there? I'm located south of Mojave. Would love to go out for a weekend and do some flying. I have Two DJI's I have the same one your using here in the video, and I also have the Dji Pro Plus. I will admit that I love the Pro Plus with it's own built in screen. Very clear in direct sunlight. I find it a pain in the ass to use the pro with a tablet, I couldnt fing a tablet that you could see clearly in direct sunlight. I'd also tried using my cell phone, but still the sun was a pain... Anyway, thanks for sharing the video, job well done... Oh! What kind of Tablet are you using ?
It's an RV camping area (dry lakebed) for the Spangler Hills OHV area. It's just off highway 395, just south of Ridgecrest. Here is its exact location www.google.com/maps/@35.5176281,-117.6640473,1249m/data=!3m1!1e3 And I was using the NVIDIA Shield K1 tablet.
Thanks for the location... I'm sure I'll go out there some weekend, do some camping and flying. I've been up 395 many times but back then it was for work, and we didnt have the drones back then... Anyway again I thank you for the location...
No, you provide your own tablet. You also should make sure that the tablet that you have in mind for it is compatible with the P4 before purchasing (not all are).
Quadcopter 101 thanks for the reply man I love your channel, also I have a question, I’m looking to buy another drone I already have an MJX Bugs 3 and a DJI Phantom 3 standard, Do you have any recommendations that have brushless motors gps and a solid camera.
Is Phantom 4 Pro easy to use and learn? Please answer me VERY IMMEDIATELY VERY RIGHT NOW today. I am waiting for your answer as I am with my computer today.
No it is not. It is very advanced and capable. But with that it requires studying the manuals closely, along with watching video tutorials to be able to use it safely and effectively.
Hey What quadcopter would you suggest for Filming under 100$ (just for instagram and stuff) Please help ! 🙂 Keep up the good quad videos comin! 😀 Love from India!
backyardbasher stick to your toy quads then because this drone is on a completely different level of technology and performance, I have a phantom 3 standard and the dji app and it works great.
Do not buy the DJI Dro product, I have owned two of these Phantoms and they are prone to runaway issues and battery suddenly dies while in flight. This is an expensive loss and I am urging you to go to other manufacturers. Also, the updates will restrict your ability to fly and prevent the drone to take off in more areas after every update, not only on the Phantoms but also the mavics. Customer service is non existent when there is a problem. DJI does not stand by their product if their is a manufacture defect which causes the drone to crash. Others that I have talked to also complain with one or more of these issues that I have mentioned above. I have been have more and more problems with DJI for almost two years.
Buy it here and *use coupon DJI4Pa* goo.gl/4cL4Jj

is there a way to make the second overlaying screen slightly more transparent from the main?
Are you using a Nvida Shield... Mine gets disconnected at least once a flight. No problem with Apple. Thanks for video
Yes I am.
Hey, any plans to review the Upair One Plus?
Awesome review. Can't go wrong with that drone.

What screen recorder are you using?

I see. Thankz
Do you have any issues with the K1 tablet? Any crashes or something like that?
I noticed you were in beginner mode. Could that be the reason draw did not work as expected. I don't have the 4, I have the 3 which does not have the upgraded features. Anyway, been a fan for several years, great video as always. Thanks for all you do....
Great video, cool landing.
Nice review. Great pilot.
Great vid with a great quad, keep up the god work man... hug from Portugal

Brilliant review. Like how happy you are 😂👍🏽
I thought the p4 Pro has the built in tablet on the controller
No, you provide your own tablet. You also should make sure that the tablet that you have in mind for it is compatible with the P4 before purchasing (not all are).

All depends on how much you want to spend.
Quadcopter 101 Around $500, have you flown the Traxxas Aton Quadcopter? Seems really nice for the price, $380
Do the Mavic Pro please
I like your landing pad.
I love your videos and how you talk.

Epic Bro
DJI GO 4 isn't responding - Welcome to the club :D
had the same issue keep telling me not enough even tho iam over a 1ooft
I'd get this if I knew how to fly it. I don't want to lose it or break it. I can't fly that for sure :(
Looks like nothing but trouble, app keeps going wrong
bestter to get a quad that doesnt rely on them
Yep, neat features in theory for beginners, but it looks a lot easier to fly manually.
backyardbasher stick to your toy quads then because this drone is on a completely different level of technology and performance, I have a phantom 3 standard and the dji app and it works great.
Nice Guy but it gets a little hard to watch this video as he awkwardly fumbles through the different modes.
California is very restrictive just look up some of there dumb laws
Dont buy this at Gearbest! Best Buy has a way better price! Surprisingly you fan get it cheaper in the states. Nice vid!

Unenlightening.
Your still camera view is to big on the screen 😗
You mean the tablet screen view? I wanted to show the tablet's control buttons and how they were being used to control the quadcopter.
