Great video 👍👍👍 i just picked up a P4 at a second hand charity shop for $25 it needs a copter battery but hey 25 bucks with everything in the box except for the manual its worth a shot.
Great review! I just bought one. I have only flown it three times so far. Seems really easy to fly. I have to keep practising. Thanks for the tips. Fly safe.

I'm considering buying a P4 and don't know much about quad copters. I've watched numerous videos and find that yours is by far the most informative. Thank You!
Larry Manuel Thanks for the kind words. The P4 and newer P4 Pro are probably the best all around drones on the market. You cant go wrong with them. Feel free to shoot me any other questions you have.
They are if the battery will charge I went back to change the battery 5 times in the end I just took the phantom 4 back got my money back they are utter rubbish don’t waste your money
@@JonniArmani Same here, its 2024 and I bought a P4P a couple months after you. You did good! From all reports these are still a desired and practical drone, especially with the mechanical shutter. What are your plans with the drone? The quality and functionality of the P4P is amazing.
Thank you for your well done intro! I just wanted to mention I had little difficulty updating the radio through the Go app but found it necessary to download and use the DJI Assistant 2 software to update the copter after several attempts failed. I presume my 3 batteries did not require updates since they all indicated being up to date. Also I was unable to install the DJI Assistant 2 on an older Windows Media Center computer but no problem with Windows 7 (still old). Perhaps my older Google Nexus 10 tablet was the problem when updating the copter.

Thanks for your video your video should be a must for new flyers with the Phantom 4. This is my fourth DJI product the first being the DJI phantom 2 vision + ,the inspire 1, the phantom 3 professional and now the phantom 4. I use my quad copters for photography and not for racing so this quad copter is ideal for my needs. I am extremely happy with the additions to this quad copter. I take nothing for granted when flying so these extra items for me are just safety measures.
+Curtis Howard Great to hear you like the video and congrats on your P4. It's a great bird and we love ours. Thanks for watching and don't forget to LIKE and subscribe.
5 years later. I just got a P4 and started watching your video. I must say that 9:37 was a trigger for me. There is nothing quite like watching your $1800 drone Slam into an obstacle at 20 miles an hour and 50’ … “The Horror. The Horror!!!!”
hello. i've got a phantom 4 advanced. 2 weeks old now, it said to do a firmware upgrade so i did so then i needed to recalibrate my vision sensors so i did so. now on my controller, it's not displaying the video stream from the drone to my monitor. any help with this
Aeroworks Productions I tried downloading the zip file from djis website and it kept timing out on me. Are you able to send me a link or even the vip file for Mac to do the update?
All the videos state that it won't pick up power lines, which is good advice, but amazingly I was tracking my friends car, he took off down the road, I couldn't notice the power line from where I was cause of background or whatever, but out of the blue the alarm sounded and it stopped!! Didn't even know why at first but even in video can clearly see the power line right in front sure enough!! It was horizontal if that makes any difference, and i certainly wouldn't bank on it, but in very first day drone was saved from power line with the avoidance system!!! Can't believe it lol!!
Thank you for the reply, I didn't know what a lightning cable was so I googled it, now I know. As you can tell I don't know much about quad copters. even tho I have flown model airplanes for years everything from stick models that you cover with tissue to 40% IMAC models, now I am interested in guad copters the videos I see posted on you tube is very entreating As a nube would you recommend the phantom 4 over the phantom 4P for me. Thank you so much.
Very informative video! At 25:40, how were you able to show both the telemetry icon (on the lower left of screen) and the map (on lower right) of the DJI GO app? I can't seem to get both on screen; the icon functions as a toogle and appears only on lower left of screen.
Excellent review! so tired of vidoes with m\loud music. Good detail, I live in the suburbs, Lots of forest and few homes. Can you tell me a realistic distance lets say at 80% battery remaining then return to home? Miles, yards? Thanks
Hello I've got a phantom 4 and has a problem with the video when recording it is showing some line on the video the video is not clear any help with the problem
Its like a radar screen and you are the center. Once you fly out a bit, the blue arrow represents the copter in relation to you in the center of the dot. Turn the copter and point it back to the center and you are flying back to you. Great if you loose orientation while flying out a ways.
Awesome video... Thanks for sharing all of the information with us. I'm soon to get my DJI 4, and am looking forward to learning how to work with it. I started out flying the cheap toy drones, Now that I feel comfortable with flight, I'm ready to step up to better drone, The DJI 4. Can hardly wait to get it... I'll be watching your videos, I will need all the information and or help that I can get. Again, Thanks for sharing... Thumbs Up, and I'm a subscriber now.
Thank you for doing this excellent video on the Phantom 4. I just purchased a DJI P4 today, and it happens to be my first quadcopter of any sort. You really nailed down why I chose this because of all the safety features... Great detailed and useful review!
You can flight forward with the camera pointed down but you would have to keep a visual on the Phantom as the camera would only seeing the ground. Was that your question?
When you was showing the active track and TapFly, I noticed some problem in the camera, like its not clear, I think it happen when there is to much light, If you got me, I wonder why is that happening??!. I also saw it while using someone else Inspire 1
If you're talking about the black-and-white zebra lines that's indicating an over exposed area we weren't focusing too much on the exposure just the activetrack for the video.
Make sure you have done at least 1 good compass calibration and make sure you allow for as many Sats as possible before arming the motors on take off. The app will also tell you that the home position has been recorded. A high K value can also make Sats less accurate. An app light UAV Forecast (free) will tell you the K value when flying. The higher the number the worse your GPS accuracy will be. You want 5 or less for best.
Hi, one question pertaining to the Active Track feature; will the drone maintain the relative position to the subject as was set at the point of turning on Active Track. Asked another way, will the drone maintain the height, distance and relative angle to the subject from the point of turning on Active Track and assigning the subject (then hitting GO)? Thanks
Both Wi-Fi only and cellular iPad Air/Mini/Pro models are compatible. Only cellular models have GPS. You do not have to enable the cell service in order to use the GPS. The DJI GO app currently only requires GPS on an Apple device when using the Follow Me feature or to reset the home point to your current location if you've moved elsewhere after taking off.
