I was 15 and tripping balls first time I heard this album, what a fucking journey it took me on. I still get so nostalgic every time I listen, each song was such a unique experience.
Have listened to this album again and again and again and again since first hearing it in 2008. To be honest I think it's probably the album I've listened to most in my life and it never gets boring. Love it from front to back. Favourite tunes are Kota, The Plug and Silver. Top notch stuff.
One of my favourite ever albums. So easily taps into this certain mellow yet otherworldly vibe, and it really is immensely relaxing. The lovely needle fuzz on some tracks and jazzy samples add to create a smoky atmosphere. My standouts are Kota with its catchy hypnotic melody and the track progressing through stranger forms.
It took me a few years to listen to this album again cause god damn I played it too much, and everybody else did..now is finally the time to enjoy this again.
hard for me to explain how much i love this album for the warm and sort of raw ambiance it always surrounds me with while im listening to it. this record is one of my favs ever since ive heard the track 'sleepy seven' and went on to search who created it, what album it was on etc...
Dinosaurs gives me a HUGE Amon Tobin flavor, for sure. Got chills listening to that, filthy, jazzy, dark dimly-lit alley at night kind of feeling. Fucking dig this so much harder than his later stuff tbh.
Whoa.. I've listened to Black Sands, and it showed me the way to Bliss. This showed me that there is another way of getting there.Terrapin left my body immobile and took my soul on an adventure!Thank you Bonobo, thank you uploader, and peace to anyone else listening. o/
terrapin is literally one of my favorite songs of all time, but this album it its entirety leads you to the bliss that is terrapin. remember the first time i reached that song, i cried almost the whole way though. not crying emotionally, just releasing tears of pure emotion. bliss, just as you described

Not their best work but that really says nothing because all their albums are pure genius. I silently pass judgement on people who won't try listening to it.
It's weird when people judge others work.. When u play and produce your own entire album and then some random says it's not your best work?... pretty out if line in my opinion
I got this song's single signed by Simon after I opened for him and Quantic in Athens, Georgia several years ago (2011?). He was impressed to see it there after so many years. One of my prized mementos.
yeah, I found the beginning of the jingle for my radio session at 'Radio Lotte' in Weimar 22 years ago with this intro... what times we had... could we start again now, please!!!
@@ZeroTNitrous late reply, but yes. I think the US CD release got a different version from what you hear in this video. At least, my US CD has the alternate version. It was also included on the unofficial "Sweetness" compilation. Here's an upload of the alternate version: ua-cam.com/video/zGXZ6b1_3Pc/v-deo.html
I'm a classical guitarist and Mozart and stuff is boring. So I play along with stuff like this as if I'm in the band.I don't need tab or anything I overcame that needless burden.
A guitar is a very simple machine that has six moving parts.Like it's cousin the piano you shorten or legnthin the strings to the desired length. The frets are your key areas. After finding a note you go up or down three or four steps. Then it goes three, three four,or vice versa.easy peasy
I discovered Bonobo by accident in 2014 and still sounds great. I'm from Mexico and I haven't met someone who knows this music. Do you guys know what happened with the album sweetness? It's no longer available, it seems it was banned or something
I loved that album. It's a compilation with some other artists and Bonobo doing covers (like the song Turtle is a cover), so I'm guessing it's a licensing issue, but I noticed its harder to find too.
I'm listening to this to drown out people downstairs in my house. I live next to a beer garden with no resident downstairs. But occasionally they have meetings. Now I guess they decided to have a private, loud party downstairs. I started with the loudest, awful music I could stand. But it didn't drive them out and I got tired. So I went back to Tommy G - the same shit I was bumping in the bar I ran in the hotel in 2006. It still fuckin slays. I have it on vinyl. But I haven't listened to any vinyl in awhile. This album will always remind me of bumping this shit too loud in the hotel bar, drunk AF off some cutty sark bc I could bury in inventory. Debating whether to book a room for the night or go home after close. Some hockey mom/equestrian mom trying to fuck. My best friend calling me old Latrobe, down to head to Glenwood Ave for a nightcap. My shit show of the twenties. Life was pretty good then. This album is better.
Bet, he got many records of Soft Machine, Gong, Egg, Caravan, Nucleus, National health, Hatfield and the north, Gentle Giant... the Canterbury scene remember anyone... ?
Massive, massive album...been listening to this beast since 2009, now 2019 and definitely in 2029

Echoes of forgotten dreams from short, very heavy narcotic induced sleeps.
I apologise to everybody here. I only found this album today! From 0.02 in, I was hooked!
Been coming back to this album over and over for the last 10 years, brings back a lot of memories.
One of the best. Simply awesome. Bonobo at it's finest.

bonobo must have been so in love when he composed terrapin
nice spot. lucky individual

agree totally, this one has soul, later works are more commercial

For driving down to Spain over the Pyrenees. Expansive music. Blissed out listening to this.
It's exactly the memory I have of this album. Driving to and from Andorra to Barcelona. It's just lovely.
Great! Nobody is listening to this fabulous music?? Utterly brilliant and well produced
did not notice 16th May 2016..do you like it?

Brilliant homework music. Sleepy Seven is so relaxing, and helps you focus. The whole album is phenomenal.
Dude!
Not their best work but that really says nothing because all their albums are pure genius. I silently pass judgement on people who won't try listening to it.
Simon Green ''bonobo'' actually produced this album entirely by himself at the time.
It's weird when people judge others work.. When u play and produce your own entire album and then some random says it's not your best work?... pretty out if line in my opinion
Tim Hawkins this was produced by one man. And actually on the contrary, this is one of his best albums.
this stays his best piece, which actually changed electronic music sound after release
the plug, always my favourite
honestly the composition of those samples
My favorite song on this album too!
