I’m happy to say that my daughter who passed away in September 2022 got her wish that I see Khruangbin at red rocks in Denver. I have a ticket for her, and a ticket for me, to see them in August 2024.
If you ever have a chance to see them, definitely do it. Khruangbin performed at Central Park in June of 2018, and I wanted to go but couldn't find anyone to go with me. I didn't buy a ticket because there's a nice grassy field right next to the music stage and you can hear everything just perfectly. It ended up raining and I went by myself anyway. Hearing this music and seeing the colored lights moving through the rain, just dancing with myself, it was as magical as it gets.
I went to a neighboring country all by myself to see my favorite musicians at a music festival. There's no shame in doing activities solo (within safety reasons).
I agree they’re not good enough to pay to see. But if they’re playing in your city it’s worth not buying a ticket and just being outside near the venue is good enough.
Mmmk so I definitely think they're good enough to pay for, and I have,in fact, purchased tickets to other shows of theirs. This was the first time I saw them and didn't purchase a ticket bc the Central Park venue BLOWS, it's literally metal bleachers and super expensive. The point of the story was I went alone and had a fantastic time, fuckin Internet weirdos lol
Being able to do things like this on your own and enjoying it is really great. Not everyone is capable of doing that. I traveled alone for the first time 2 weeks ago in Paris. It was nice to just do and go wherever I pleased. Explore in your own rhythm and take it all in. I will plan some more solo ventures in the future.
Brilliant. They were just popping up in my feed 2mo. Into COVID lockdown..I kept ignoring the clips after 2mo. I finally clicked on one clip and fk me....their groove and sound sucked me right in ..and here I am 3y + later.....kismet.
As a music maker/synthesist/engineer/ audio physics guy, who makes literally anything, this...i must say, is something as precious as life itself. THIS is a thick blend of balance, Ideas, Electronic / Electrical signal processing , vocals being the rarest element makes sense (a sign of Balance, as every instrument gets equal importance in the auditory receptors) , and ofcouse the scales and modality of the notes, everything blended so well that , if it touches any ear, it would totally make its way in without even asking. THIS is the kind of music worth listening.
Very nice choice of words! It's really all these different elements that are easy to look over but make such a big difference. I've also been making music myself since I was 14 and this band is definitely one of my favorites. Haven't heard one track that sounds bad.
I try to start my mornings with this…I breathe it in…I breathe it out…I live from inside of it and come from it so as my day unfolds, I am those vibrations of wellbeing, happiness, and fulfillment and everything just feels lighter and more manageable.
Read the comments before listening and began the album feeling skeptical. Now at the end of the album I have tears in my eyes because by the end of these 45 minutes I've had a few beautiful and much needed realizations. Thank you for your comments everyone! And thank you for this album 🙏🏿
What i love the most about People Everywhere (Still Alive) is, the music just recently demanded your attention when turning A to B - and then it hits you. Its just perfect.
Saw them live this past weekend in SLC, UT and felt like I was floating the entire night. The crowd was swaying and dancing to the best energy imaginable. Hands down the best night I've had in a long time! Hope to see them again soon.
Friends booked me tickets to see these guys in Manchester last year - I'd never really heard of them. My god. What a gig that was. The musicianship and outright funk was palpable. Needless to say, I now consider myself a big fan.
This popped up on my feed, so I just want to come here and say that this is undoubtedly my favorite album of all time. I’m not trying to leave a super long comment but it has changed the way I view music, and is definitely worth listening to, from start to finish, every day.
the youtube algos amazingly put them in my suggested list yesterday. Texas Moon. I was hooked, instantly and have been digging into their catalog. you're right - the work is brilliant.
The Pitchfork concert is AMAZING. This same songs, but the performance, Mark's intonation and touch, plus the whole production, is like what you'd see in a great trip.
Man i love vinyl. My dad had an old phonograph that his client restored for him so he could play all the records he had. I learned drums to his records. My love for vinyl is no secret. Everything sounds so much better! But When I bought this record and played it for first time I was just floored by the sound. I felt them playing just for me in my backyard. 'People Everywhere' might just be the greatest B-Side opener in LP History
Saw them at Glastonbury, 2017 I think it was. They played at about 11 in the morning, first on at West Holts and I made a point of going down to see them because I loved this record. Sat down, back against the sound tower, had a smoke, there was 20 people there and it was drizzling. By the end of the set, the field was nearly full and after that they climbed the bill - they were brilliant.
Found this album years ago and listened to it RELIGIOUSLY on Spotify. Learning bass for all these tunes so came to this album listenthrough. And WHAT? Hidden track?! After all this time to discover this now is awesome!
This is different and interesting. What's more, I do enjoy seeing ("hearing") the odd guitarist now and again who's not all about burning down the barn but just lays back. Diggit.
youtube magic again. instantly fell in love with this music and ordered a vinyl. now my room radiates with this groovy sound. the universe indeed smiles upon us.
Thank you so much for putting this together and with timing and song titles. My 24yo daughter wanted me to visit her in Denver to see Khruangbin at Red Rocks but tragically she died Sept 14, 2022.
So sorry to hear about your loss. Your daughter had excellent taste in music. I hope you'll find strength and wish you all the best. Though different than losing a child I lost mother last March and in my experience listening to the music she loved, brings back a lot of memories I cherish. Love from Holland and bless...
This played automatically after something else I was listening to. I kept it on because I was really enjoying it. When I reached Little Joe & Mary, I found myself shedding tears from the music. That really doesn’t happen to me that often so this album has stuck out to me since. Very beautiful music, raw and powerful stuff
Saw them in Houston in 2022, and in 2018 during new years here. Best group ever! First Class on the Mordechai album is dedicated to Houston, the groups originating city! To see and hear them play in the city they started in together was amazing! Love them 4ever!
On Sara's Super Special Song playlist, I feel every song is a worship hymnal, including this whole beautiful album. Thank you, Khruangbin, for this gift. The universe does indeed smile upon you💯%.😄❤
The first time i heard this band was the amazing Pitchfork concert on UA-cam, and i just couldn't believe how amazingly great every song and note was. Mark Speer, guitar god. Best band of the 2000s so far.
@@louiegonzalez1587 well thank you! Im trying to think of others I could add to my favs but those two are really my tops, maybe the misfits with danzig, ummm i cant think of anymore that really can top those 3 as far as originality and just incredible artistry
Little Joe & Mary gets me. I feel like I'm lying on the shore of a beach on an earth-like planet and every human emotion, except contentment, has drifted away on the purple surf.
To me, this is far and away their best work to date. Love everything about this album, sonic beauty that is very spiritual. Hope they are are able to find this magic again. Lately it seems the well is dry.
I think I discovered them through a Corona beer... cause they're music was on the advert once I think LMFAO but eventually... a live show on youtube bought me here... and I've seen them now (Leeds, 2022) and I'm still trying to find the right moment to leArN all that guitar 😂😂😂

Wish you all the best, internet strangers!

That's too bad she isn't with us (here) anymore. I bet you gave her a wonderful experience though, good job being a mom.

I think its safe to say this album is a masterpiece...every song was a 10.
It's a perfect album.
I think that when you’re in tune with the universe these guys just pop up on your feed ✨🧁
best way to put it .
Agreed.

It appears that the UA-cam algorithm has blessed me once again.
Outside , in the morning alone.... on my porch listening to the rain....sipping coffee.... just needed Khruangbin...

Saw them on tiny desk and instantly intrigued
This music is my comfort zone when I'm at work 🥰
Same, gets you through accounting 😅
more suggestions from you please?
Same here. Plus the mix's are really good too. Thought that was them at first
Listening this at a stressful environment kind of defeats the purpose of enjoyment of this music

I love Khruangbin, found them through a KEXP performance on UA-cam.
Ditto. And they sound so much better at live performances
And I strongly recommend their performence on Pitchfork 2018 😍
Same. Nice band.
Yip, been a huge fan ever since! KEXP has given me many gems!!
Thank you for sharing... The Universe smiles upon you.
If anyone is hesitating: buy their albums, digital or vinyl. i ordered the vinyl version and it sounds so great...
Vinyl is always better.
Don't buy the Texas Sun/Moon comp vinyls with Leon Bridges. Whoever did the pressings failed big time and they still released them.
@@Ghostleopardbluethank you for mentioning this.

The you spin me right round baby of the vinyl on the turntable part, or what? Stealing a line from B52s here. "Well I'm just asking!"
Id like to thank the algorithm for suggesting this band!

Love them, but as for the title, these words from Andrew Bird's "Underlands" come to mind: "stars don't owe you anything."
A friend introduced me during the 2020 pandemic and it was just what my soul needed! I fell hard pretty quickly! I've now seen them LIVE twice!🤩
