- Now that Ronald Acuna's 2024 season is over, the Atlanta Braves find themselves in the unenviable position of replacing one of the most talented players in baseball. I do not believe the in-house options will be enough, so in this video I have 3 Trade proposals for the Braves to deal for Randy Arozarena, Brent Rooker, Tommy Pham.

Yeah I love all these trades people are proposing. Springer, Randy, Austin Hayes, etc all hitting like .150 something. How is that an upgrade? The Braves have plenty of people that can play right field. They don't need a body, they need someone that is a definite upgrade right now over Duvall, Martinez and/or Wall. Some expensive bum with a 66 ops+ doesn't provide that
@@wingracer1614 But how are you saying upgrade over wall? He literally has just under 1 OPS and he's hitting over 300. Last year he did great in the limited time they gave him. I don't think there is a definite "upgrade" over wall because he's one of the hottest hitters in triple AAA and has performed well in the bigs for the braves in a limited sample size. I agree with the first part of what you said though for sure those guys are all bad picks
Braves already have the replacement for Acuña on the team. Not to worried about the outfield. Wpuld like a trade for a middle to top of the rotation stater.

I don't understand why Wall can't stay in the bigs.
We need somebody, maybe not a superstar, but somebody, Duvy can't play everyday especially not in the ATL heat. Pham, Pillar, Pederson, either of the Rosarios, Bader, or any of those other 1 year deal guys would be great additions. Of course with AA I wouldn't be surprised if we traded Dylan Dodd for Randy Arozarena strait up tomorrow.
Braves are about same record wise as they were last year at this time. This sucks big time but Duvall can fill in. Hit a homer again today. Pitching wins rings. Need to worry about the back end of the rotation and hope the top guys start healthy.

Think you're undervaluing Duvall a bit. He's better than the average 4th outfielder. Also I wouldn't let JR Ritchie go.
Even though the offense isn’t what we would like so far, I’m more worried about the starting rotation after Fried and Sale.

Brent Rooker is very streaky. He can be the best hitter in baseball for a few weeks. Then he can go ice cold and strike out every at-bat for a few weeks. But when he does make contact, he hits the ball HARD.
Sounds like Olson this year. I wouldn’t mind another Athletic but this prolonged mass slumpage that we’ve seen from the Bravos has me shell shocked. Get Elder out of here though. I would love to have Randy but I really don’t know honestly….
Arozarena loves the limelight. It's his leadership on the field that I like. Something this bland team desperately needs
Perhaps Braves get Robles as stop gap measure. I think Rays wait a bit unless Braves severely over pay. Maybe O'niel and Adell are on their radar too.
All these options are for mediocre players at best. Work out a trade with the Yankees for a Juan Soto rental, about time that cheapskate Anthopolous makes an impact move.
Good point, like Kelenic maybe Adell needs a change of scenery to fulfill his enormous potential.

We have been beaten to pieces this year. It makes me so sick to see all my favorite players go down this year. There is no replacement for Ronald or Strider. I do agree with my man here though. Springer's in a hitters slump, but his defence is top shelf, he rarely gets caught stealing, he doesn't make base running error, and he is a lead off hitter.
When your OPS has dropped 80-90 points from the previous season four years in a row it's not a slump. His defense is far from top notch, it's mediocre at his very best. He's been horrible in the lead off spot, just because Schneider is too dumb to move him down doesn't make Springer an effective leadoff hitter.

I'd prefer Randy over Rooker, but would take either. With Duvall and Ozuna both potentially leaving next year. Adding Randy or Rooker would add some flexibility with an open DH spot. Or Travis could DH with Murphy in the lineup. It's not just this year replacement injury. It essentially took Acuña two years to get back to form....that's the projection that should be looked at. What's this team going to be looking like 2 years from now. Realistically they're going to be losing out on a 100% healthy Acuña, but also Fried, Morton, D'arnuld, Ozuna, Matzek, Minter, Duvall, and Arcia could all be somewhere else in the next two seasons
I trust AA but trading with the Rays scares me.
With how much of a down year Randy is having you can get him for a discount and I guarantee you he would light it up hitting in the Braves lineup on a winning team change of scenery would be all he needs

Outfield is not the problem. Pitching wins games and that's something the Braves are lacking. Both starting and relief. They won the World Series with Duval, Peterson, and Rosario.The outfield of Harris, Duval, and Kelenic are just as good if not better.

He came back from a torn acl in other knee to win MVP 2 years later and go 40/72. He can do it.
Everyone is different. In the NFL thomas davis, a linebacker, tore the acl,mcl 4 times and still came back to win pro bowls. Adrian peterson came back in 8 months to rush for like 2000 yards.
I think Acuna will be fine till he is older. Surgeons for teams are so good with these injuries now

Brent Rooker would be an awesome add. He could be a career Brave. I don't like dealing Elder, but you can't have that big a whole in right field for too long. They're already developing pitchers.

I like the ideas, but I don’t think AA is after any of these guys. He’s going to get some underperforming power hitting RF (like they did with Soler) and turn in a .800 OPS season with the Braves.
Lara has way too much upside for a few months of Pham - no way.
They may consider the Arozarena trade but parting with Ritchie would sting even though he hasn't really pitched for them yet.
Braves would do the Rooker trade in an instant. Give me that one today.
That being said, they should focus on adding to the rotation more than the OF, oddly enough.
I much rather take Pham over the other two simply because his stats are better than the other two and you can put him in the leadoff spot

As a Braves fan, I don't like Oakland players. They don't produce when it matters. For example, Olson and Murphy.
I hope he doesn't start crying again. That made him weak in 2022. Why can't he visit Japan where they practice healistic medicine? He still needs to get on a field and practice throwing etc. He still has his arms.
Braves could go for Taylor Ward on the Angels. He has years of control and in that lineup he would be even better.

Prices are highest right now. And if what you say were true, teams would simply wait to trade.
AA needs to pay these players a lot more fairly, what he did to Acuna and Albies is criminal (especially Ozzie). Olson and Riley got great team deals but are much more player friendly than what AA did to Acuna and Albies. John Scheurholz would have never ripped those guys off like that, don’t know how AA can sleep at night after what he’s done to them financially.
And don’t say that a multibillion dollar company can’t pay great salaries, AA should have tried to sign Ohtani and hopefully he’ll make a strong play for Soto this offseason. Thankfully the Braves have a great manager in Snit that covers up AA’s ridiculous frugality.

My mistake. I saw the 15 homers on the most recent line & had not heard that he was out so I was under the impression it was this year. It’d be great if mlb.com’s prospect player bio mentioned that he’s out to start the year. I’d still consider him as a piece in a trade.

I feel like he's "done". I mean shit, two ACLs in both legs, he's going to be a "old man" in a few years due to the wear and tear to his knees. KNEES PEOPLE, KNEES. Knees are the most important part of your body as a ALL STAR/MVP!!!! This shit is going to reduce him to a pile of "what could have happened". I believe he was playing through a injury and was not telling people about it. You don't just have this happen considering the metrics on how he was performing, i think he was battling through discomfort for the sake of who he is, and this finally caught up with him, the numbers don't lie. Let me be clear, i hope he makes a comeback in '25, but i still think he was being selfish due to discomfort, that's just my take on all this due to the numbers he put up till the time of this tragic situation.
