Do you know about Yash Pal, who run a regular science education program on Doordarshan? He is an MIT alma matter. He inspired lot of young children to pick up science and engineering. He used to answer questions by children on TV. I was inspired by him. Now I am doing a PhD in Applied Math at Courant Institute.

One of the best talks on The Black Hole. A worth 1 hr and 40 minutes of Saturday afternoon spent. The 2 minutes from @31:30 just gave me goosebumps. This concept should go deep into the entire humanity's senses and we can all live in peace for ever.

Great scholar is Arvindji. Had bought his book from his stall in 1987 Indian Science Congress which was held in Pune University Campus. I 17 yrs had taken my younger brother 11 years there. We saw all the stalls till our legs were aching. Very satisfied and awed by Arvindji then. Thank you Parvezbhai for bringing him. I think Pakistan can hugely benefit from his ideas.

What a teacher! My salute to him. I'm an Indian and i feel proud to have such teachers in India.
Teaching is an art. It is NOT about mugging up what is written in books. It is about igniting curiosity in children. Once ignited, it will remain with them forever. Leave the rest to them. They will on their own learn to study from books. Of course, they must have access to good books (not Islamic physics or Islamic biology).
We don't have to teach children to make scientists out of them. We need to teach science to our children to make life easier and more meaningful for them. The experiments Arvindji showed for blind children brought tears to my eyes. This is real teaching. Children will become scientists if they have it in them. What a primary teacher does for society is far more important than what a teacher of higher studies does. This is why a Guru is so revered in Indian society. 🙏
The joy of imparting knowledge is the greatest joy in the world!
At the same time, there is nothing worse than a bad teacher brainwashing young minds! Something that is done in madrassas.

arvindji is right when he says many students find theory boring and uninspiring. But when they are involved in hands on experiments then they get motivated to find more and end up going into theory. This is my own experience.

One of the best talks I have heard in a long time. It was well past my bed time, but I was riveted to my screen. I agree, let the kids mess around, later they will ask themselves how did this work. Same with paper designs. Some day these kids will grow up and bring new designs to automobiles, drones and dwellings. Ive shared this video with all my friends. Thank you.

I found Arvind Gupta almost 12 to 15 years before on Daily motion and UA-cam and other websites. I can witness that he is a gem he was the person I learned Applied Science first time. I made plenty of Projects from Junk wastes. I still remember my late father would astonished and proud of such projects without money.. I was very creative because of Arvind Gupta. Later on I opted social science for my higher studies but still the way explanations are steeped in my mind I can express its really a Nostalgia 😢❤ Thank you Black Hole for let us meet the legend once again ❤

We in India have one teacher like Sir Arvind Gupta Ji in our school or around and that has propelled our scientific bend and ethos. Education here has more weight than religion, religion is a personal space and not an obsession. Hence you see India progressing even though we also come across bad people (certain black sheep)in our society.
By the way, Sir is Guptaji from Uttar Pradesh (North India around Delhi - Urdu's birthplace). Imposing Urdu as the national language in West Pakistan and East Pakistan was detrimental then and its effects still continue.
In India, most people speak their mother tongue, English and Hindi (but Hindi is not our national language), another key reason why India's diversity and unity shines through.
Sadly, Pakistan is too religious and that overtime has eroded the concept of blending with other communities. *Black Hole* is a good start but you will need many similar initiatives to overhaul the fundamentalist devil fabric akin to oxygen in your society. Probably, one or two generations more to correct the mistake. I sincerely hope the good ones succeed.

What a brilliant teacher & science enthusiast Mr. Arvind Gupta is. If we were also taught in this practical manner it definitely would have sparked more scientific interest in us rather than the frustration so many felt while during classes.
As someone has rightly said, we should spend more time on science, maths and literature instead of spending time showing that 5000 years ago our ancestors did science, mathematics and literature.

Well to clear Parvez Jee's doubt about how we teach in local languages so the answer is that most of the Indian languages we have the local terms for almost 95% to 99% of the modern scientific words because indian civilization is an age old civilization and if some new sort of word is required which is not their in our local language we proudly use the words from the modern languages and at the same time we study in english as well to keep us relevant. One more thing is the way he is teaching here is the style of teaching is one of the style which is used in Indian Gurukuls since ages which were destroyed by some maniacs in past many hundred years but still some of them survived because of some great gurus and now again getting recognition around the globe for their simplicity and affectiveness. The basic thing he is trying to convey here is we should let the children or people use their minds and then ask question and this one is the very basis of Indian Gurukuls and this fact that you are allowed to ask question comes from Sanatan Dharm which allows even to question your God without any fear. I am not disgracing any majhab here but it is necessary to tell from where this liberty comes in indian society to ask questions freely. Hope no one will get offended and take the words as they have written instead of making up stories in their minds. Best or luck for everyone. Namaskar.🙏

I truly hope he succeeds as the alternative will only ruin Pakistan. All the very best to Dr. Hoodbhoy in this effort. It’s a pity when I watch these fascinating episodes from Blackhole, the auditorium is not even half full….it shows the apathy of the local populace to logic and science. What a pity
