Susanne is one of the greatest artists alive, an incredible songwriter, singer, pianist, and she's quite good with the acoustic guitar as well. She's stunning.

Brilliant. And in fact, one of the greatest alive is not enough for her, she's one of the greatest ever. Btw, I saw her on stage a few years ago, at the concert which became her live album Live From the Barbican, and she brought tears to my eyes. Twice.@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind

Yes, she has been underrated in the U.S. and the U.K. for a long time, but it is about time her track record was appreciated in both countries. Once I'd heard a few of hers (say, Undercover, White Foxes, and nearly everything on the Oya concert), I was hooked and now I think I have watched nearly everything she has produced so far on YT. The new Kate Bush some say...

Like I told someone else, I've listened to this song so many times since I reacted to it. Just love it. I'm turning into a huge fan of hers. Thanks for checking out my video.

You're right, she's the best. And this is one of her best. Those CRAZY string legatos and her sliding vocals near the end....amazing.

It’s not just you, the song is very good indeed, and this arrangement is terrific. :)
Susanne has such an interesting discography, her latest album (after an all too long 6-7 year wait) sounds nothing like The Silicone Veil or Ten Love Songs, but it’s equally rewarding.
She sorta started the whole singer/songwriter era in Norway we’re enjoying at the moment, won several “Norwegian Grammy” awards, and is highly regarded by her peers. Definitely react to more of her music. This one has a lot of depth behind its lyrics (“beauty is poisonous”), always a nice bonus.
Cheers for the second week. Some new (and “old”) names for Week 3: Kalandra, Highasakite, Emilie Nicolas, Ane Brun, Ina Wroldsen, SKAAR, Julie Bergan, girl in red, Röyksopp, Madrugada, Wardruna, iris, Dagny, Susanne Sundfør, Aurora, Angelina Jordan, Sissel, Sigrid.

Wow! She has a nice vocal range! That Is REALLY Beautiful! And you're absolutely right about the headphones or ear buds. Holy Cow! What a great piece and singer! That was the Hot Fudge sauce, the Whipped Cream AND the Cherry on top of a fun week of Norway artists!

Every once in a while, I listen to a song that just sounds SO MUCH better in the headphones. This was a perfect example of that. Glad you liked this as well. I've listened to it many times since I reacted to it. Actually, I think I'm going to listen to it again now that we've talked about it. Ha. As always, thanks Janette!

She was discredited by the music press i Norway when she won a prize for best female musician- and she just commented that she wanted to be a musician- not a female musician and that shouldn’t be a issue what gender… that was enough to piss some male music journalists in Oslo off. Only that comment ( who of course was hundred pr right) was enough… Susanne are going to outlive everyone off those tossers!

You should listen to Susanne Sundfoers Memorial, a long 10+ minutes plus song, and to Mountaineers where she features John Grant. Suspect you will like both of these tunes.

Great reaction, Bob. I agree with you, Susanne definitely IS vastly underrated. It's not like she's unknown to the music industry though. She's even on the soundtrack for the movie "Oblivion" with Tom Cruise. Have a great week 🙂 Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥ I guess you like Kate Bush as well ? There ARE definite similarities between them 😉

It's always a pleasure to see your reaction videos. If the music isn't always my taste, that's perfectly natural. There is not one song or artist that absolutely everyone will like. It is (my personal opinion) just as important if not more so with the person(s) leading a program/show/reaction or whatever it may be. As viewers, most people notice quite quickly whether they like the personality of the presenter, regardless of the content. You score high with me there. Some artists are often liked and given credit for being themselves and not trying to copy others. I think it's like that with those of you who create reaction channels for. You're like that neighbor Bob everyone likes. It is so nice. Of all the reaction channels and various other acquaintances with Americans (USA), you are the least American I have experienced. (not bad, but sorry) You must have some British ancestry, for that dry humor
goes straight home in several European countries. Scandinavian countries, especially Norway, have some of that. The biggest reason is probably the BBC, which has had a close relationship with NRK for at least 50 years. Is absolutely fantastic and not often I hear from an American. Stereotype that most countries have for other countries. But in any case, I think you meet a lot of people by being one of the viewers, no more, no less. And by all means don't make extra videos if someone has criticized your opinions. There are some who can't handle the kind of crit to point out that it's their channel and personal opinion. (completely agree) But you are on one of the internet's largest platforms as a volunteer. They certainly have a large majority of positive comments. So if you can't handle the few negatives, then reaction videos for the whole world to see and hear your opinions may not be the place for you. Keep up the good work you are doing and many thanks. Have a brilliant spring and a good summer.

Hi Arvid. Thanks so much for all of that. I fully agree that not everyone is going to like everything. To be honest, there were a couple videos over the last year that I stopped during the middle of the reaction. I just really disliked it and didn't want to put something out there where I was completely negative. I try to find some good in every song that I react to. I try to pull out the good, not the bad. I've received more than my share of negative comments. Honestly, not too many though. I don't let it bother me unless it's too personal. Then I just block the people. I'm good with hearing opposing opinions, but not slanderous opinions. Hope that makes sense. I have a strong European background and am a first generation American on my mom's side. No British though. Mostly German, Dutch and Italian. I'm very proud to be an American, but like anywhere, there are a lot of things that need to improve. Doing these videos is a nice get-away for me. I love listening to new music from different parts of the world. There's so much to be learned in regards to musical styles and tastes, as well as world viewpoints. I find it all very interesting. I will say though, my favorite thing about having this channel is getting to meet such wonderful people. It wasn't something that I really expected, but has been a wonderful surprise. Thanks so much for taking time to listen to my reactions. I really appreciate it.

I'll find my headset and listen to this one again! So many talented ladies here, so I thought I'd recommend a dude (I tend to harp on about Aurora). Sondre Lerche's "Why Would I Let You Go (live with KORK)", performed with an orchestra during the pandemic is IMO criminally underrated. Just stumbled over it, and thought more should hear it (reaction or not). From Bergen, but based in the US now I believe. Was on Letterman twice and made the soundtrack to "Dan In Real Life" back in the day. And to bring it back to Aurora, they do a nice duet together 😄.

oslo used to have the highest density of concerts per capita. i'm not sure if that applies for today, but i still miss it.
wonderful susanne. she is the most talented artist in norway. there is a huge gap before other norwegian artists come after her. neither aurora nor angelina, to name two of them, have her skills

Hey Bob. She does have a unique voice. Pretty good song. Admittedly not something I would go looking for, but enjoyed it. Nice job on Norway week... 2.
For your next Norway week, recommend trying a rock duo called Northward. Actually a Norwegian and Dutch duo. It features Norwegian guitarist Jorn Viggo Lofstad from the band Pagan's Mind. Song suggestions: Storm in a Glass or While Love Died. Oh yeah, I did say part Dutch. That would be a Dutch singer you might like. Her name is Floor Jansen. 🤣
