Some of the lower trims have a slightly smaller screen with support for wireless Android Auto and CarPlay but there's no option for wireless in these higher trim levels
Nope.. the LX / LXS base models have an 8" screen that doesn't have factory navigation.. but they also support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You can check out this video on the Hyundai Kona which has the same feature set and functionality, just a slightly different look: ua-cam.com/video/BnBkvcHS-aY/v-deo.html
Try going to Settings --> General --> CarPlay and see if the vehicle is there. If it is, delete it. Then delete the bluetooth connection and remove the phone from the vehicle. Try to reconnect. If that doesn't work than it's probably the USB cable. If yours isn't an Apple original, replace it with an Apple one. I find that 3rd party cables don't like to work
Well.. not pointless. CarPlay and Android Auto are great to use for navigation compared to the built in system. There are some aftermarket screen mirroring devices you can look at.. but I haven't found one yet that works consistently without issues
Do you have to plug it in or does it have wireless projection?
You have to plug it in
So maybe change your title dude! Your not showing wireless 😒
@@CarsWithStevewhen I plug my phone in with usb, it still doesn’t bring up car play. Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot that?
Hi Steve How Are You Great Video Can You Make The 2023 Kia Sorento X-LINE 2.5T
Doing great Sunjib, how about yourself? I have the sorento on the list to shoot once one is available
@@CarsWithSteve Yes I Am Doing Very Good Thank You
So it won’t connect wireless? Just approved usb??
You got it.. only over USB in this screen
Does it have to be wired to connect to Apple Car Play?

Is this the same exact infotainment that I would have in an LXS model also?

@@CarsWithSteve thanks, Steve
you're welcome
I have a Kia forte 2020 I followed the same exact steps for my iphone 13 pro and I still can't get it to project onto the screen 😢

@@CarsWithSteve thank you for the quick reply , I'll try this and update you 🙌
sounds good!
what is the name of the screen you bought
Screen I bought? This one is standard in most trims of the Forte...
Do I have to click car play whenever I plug my phone in?
Yup.. there's no way I've been able to find for it to auto launch
How can i get UA-cam videos to play on my kia forte 2024?
You can't.. CarPlay and Android Auto don't support video playback right now and the Forte doesn't have the UA-cam app available yet
@@CarsWithSteve so the screen is pretty much pointless..no movies or videos or cartoons for the kids I guess.

If you want to see the apps shown with Apple Carplay, does your iPhone always have to be connected through a USB?
Yes, it's a USB connection for CarPlay and Android Auto so you need to be connected for it to work
That’s so weird cause I read online the new 2023 is supposed to have wireless 🤷🏻♂️
@@nick9124I just got one, it’s all Bluetooth, it worked when I wasn’t plugged in
@@williamlangley4792what year and trim level?
Only thing I don't get is why you need your phones map when it has a built-in navigation
Phone navigation is up to date and typically more feature loaded compared to most OEM nav programs
Kia forte new screen 5W generation
Support only over USB
Yup.. this larger one is wired, smaller one is wireless
Hey can you send to me like these screen to Libya and how much please
Hmm.. Could probably try to figure something out. Reach out on Facebook @CarsWithSteve or Instagram @RealCarsWithSteve
so the carplay only works with a USB on😢
Yes that's right.. no wireless with this screen unfortunately
Would it work with an aux?
