There's no need for anyone who's looking for a potato soup recipe to keep on looking because you've found the best one right here. My mama made hers very much like this, but she didn't use carrots. If I recall correctly, she used onion and celery and sauteed those together. She also used evaporated milk in hers. But, y'all need to save this recipe. You can't go wrong with it.
Looks lovely! You’re absolutely right about MSG’s, here in the U.K. it’s in nearly all Chinese takeaways; it amazes me ppl are so unaware of the impact it has on the body. If I do eat something with it in without realising I always end up with a migraine and need pints of water to drink straight away afterwards!

I feel like I get to experience just a little of that thru your channel.... God bless you and your family... 🙏🙏🙏🥰
Just a tip you can add just a splash of olive oil to keep the butter from burning..the butter sits on top of the oil and it won't burn because the oil has a higher smoke temp vs butter
I live in Virginia, and potato soup was one of my favorite things to eat growing up. I hate that it has been complicated over the years. Literally everyone now makes it with cheese and broccoli. I hate that. I love the simplicity of this recipe and will definitely be fixing this. Thank you for keeping it simple. This video is most helpful. God bless you.
Thank you for this. You have made this soup just like my grandma, except instead of carrots, she used Celery. But all the other recipes call for something to thicken it when you don't need to. And you don't need canned or any kind of broth. Ilove your recipes.
Ohhh Becky, Tater soup is one of my very favorite soups !!! I just enjoy your channel so very much.. and esep your love for our loving Lord above... Have a blesses wkend .
My grandma made "depression soup" which my siblings and I just loved on a cold winters night. Grandma used her leftover bacon grease as the base. She fried up her onions in the grease first. Then she added her potatoes and water. At the end she put cooked elbow macaroni to stretch the soup and thicken it up. It is fun to make the old recipes and they're so comforting during difficult times. God bless each of you and God bless America.
I live in northern Canada and we get snowed in a lot. I make potato soup from frozen hash browns which I can get really cheap in the fall I stock up for the winter. There's nothing like a hot soup when the elements are tough
I also tried the “quick” hash browns instead of real grated potatoes. It cooks faster but I needed more hash browns to thicken my soup and honestly the flavor was not the same
My grandmother's lived too far away to teach me anything. Mom said kids of any age didn't belong in the kitchen. So I taught myself using the oldest cookbooks I could find. I once had one from 1849 it had some of the best recipes I ever tried in it. Love those old recipes that call for almost nothing but have tons of flavor and texture.

Use pink Himalayan or Meterainan salt. It cuts back on sodium and adds minerals, (maco and trace), that our bodies are missing in this western diet.

When you cut up your potatoes, grate one of the potatoes or even just a half one. It helps to thicken it.
We have been watching pretty much since you have 1000 or so subs! I am so happy for y’all! I do miss your little talks about God though!! If people don’t want to listen they can always go through! Just my thoughts! Love all your recipes and thanks so much for taking the time to share!!

Simple homemade comfort food. God bless you too. I can't wait to see what else you'll be look'n👍😊
Good bless you and your family I watch so many of your videos you are young but you remind me of my grandmother who taught me to cook on her farm for hard working men. She told me men need to know how to cook when they are hunting or on the trail. A couple of your recipes have turned out better then hers. I didn't say that lol thanks
That's one of my favorite soups!!
You are such a sweet Lady! HIS blessings 🙏
Your recipe is just like I ate growing up, and I love it. I just found your channel and subscribed. It is so great to find a channel that has the same values as my family. I live in Raleigh, NC. God Bless!!!
Thank you 😊 Welcome to the Hillbilly Kitchen! God Bless You!
One of my favorite meals since childhood has been potato soup and cornbread. Yum! Thank you! Blessings all!!!!! 🌺🌺
I made this yesterday, so good! Comfort food.
I love celery in tater soup. Yum! Sweet peas are good too.
Hahahahaha
Lots of celery salt at the end.
Yes and my mom would add crispy bacon. Yummy
Sweet yellow corn right before you serve it! Mmmm
Oh that’s a great idea
I really enjoy simple family recipes. They fill up both the stomach and the heart when you serve them to your husband and kids.
Your a blessing from GOD. Thank You
Made some today in crock pot hope you are doing good love your videos and you as I love you being a Christian and the verses. ♥️🙏
It is awful stuff and people here really don't understand how bad it is 😕
Morning from Australia 🇦🇺.Thank you for sharing your recipe.I made your beautiful tater soup yesterday which my husband and myself really enjoyed. I am now a new subscriber.keep up the good work.Moira
This sounds delicious and I can't wait to try it. Whenever my sister and I were sick, mother would make us some homemade potato soup. I have really enjoyed my freebie box of food items that you sent me. Thank you again.
I just watched this from Kansas in January, and a bowl of potato soup sounds real good about now. Thank you.
This is how my mom made it. Thank you for reminding me how. God Bless
I love the simplicity and coherence of the host's comments. Never heard of "root soup" 'til now!
This recipe is almost exactly like my momas..such precious memories!! Thank you for sharing...God Bless!
Looks so good. My Mother did not use carrots but used celery. That's how my Granny taught her. Either way will be delish.
I love your simple, healthy recipes. Perfect for the hard times in front of us. God bless
Thank you very much, God bless you!
Thank you for your cooking wisdom... It's always so much better when it's good Ole fashioned homegrown goodness from our ancestors.... I never knew any of my gparents as they were all gone long before I came along... But I always wished I could stand next to my gma and gpa and soak up their knowledge... I feel like I get to experience just a little of that thru your channel.... God bless you and your family... 🙏🙏🙏🥰
Thank you for this recipe. I have followed your process in making other soups and now I am the soup queen!!! Thanks!!!
I just love her ❤️ recipes and how she shows you how it easy it is. And love the way she talks every body🤠
You are still such a blessing and a kind teacher. Thank you so much!
Hi thier🙋. Yes,I've been thinkin about a bag of Hashbrowns, because it would Cook Faster(am I right on the Faster part? Don't know?)
I also tried the “quick” hash browns instead of real grated potatoes. It cooks faster but I needed more hash browns to thicken my soup and honestly the flavor was not the same
@@willow2333 Frozen hash browns, tater tots, etc. are greasy.
