General Melchett is in Love | Blackadder Goes Forth | BBC Comedy Greats. 14.5.24. Efenbthe most well oiled tranny found this amusing, didn't you clive?
I remember when Stephen Fry was guesting on Johnathon Ross's show, when Ross made a crude inference to Fry and Laurie not just being Comedy friends, and Fry making a half hearted threat to make him pay for it
I really, really like the General's dress uniform. It's so dashing and striking as well as prim and proper. Now that's an outfit anyone would look fabulous in.
Years ago when i was working in a British military post, we would have Defense attaches dressed in such uniforms, they looked really delicious at State dinner parties
George telling Edmund about his date with Melchett might be the funniest scene out of all the four blackadder series’ and as you can imagine that’s up against some pretty stiff competition 😂
Absolutely hilarious. I really cant say theres anything funnier than this. Priceless. Their acting is fabulous. That bushey moustache and last xmas turkey. Oh my god.
And to think that, the BBC, not so long ago, were too embarrassed to reshow all their world famous comedy shows, because of the advent of PR. and now we have to contend with WOKE, what ever that is. The invention of poisoned minds. makes me weep.
''OH YES, OF COURSE, THANK GOD ! Always gets me laughing, The Great Tim McInnerny , never gets the praise he deserves. He was the only trained actor, of the main leading character's.
@@katehurstfamilyhistory THANK YOU! Now it makes more sense to me. AND I just watched this hilarious video again and I now hear ‘…Guy Fawkes…’ clearly.
I honestly think the face expressions in Blackadder is funnier than the genius lines, Rowan always had the best face expressions but Captain Darling beats him in this series
@@vickylewis4320 George and Melchett. I'm pretty sure George calls him Uncle Melchett at some point.... Unless Mandela effect is giving me problems again and that didn't happen...
I have a cunning plan, let's watch more Blackadder here : ua-cam.com/play/PLZwyeleffqk5r8Ze_qSF9nKi_9hfjH0qO.html

My favourite part is how Darling isn't necessarily opposed. 'It's just all so sudden!'

@@MrDaiseymay I suppose wossy can be a bit of a twat
Because everyone was 🏳️🌈 in the trenches.
The darling confusion is so well done.
The pure pain in his voice when he repeates "chipmunk" 🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
Gets me every time 😭😭
There's something so loveable about George, Melchett and Darling.

Yes, me too. Looks absolutely brilliant!
He looks sharp!

It is indeed very smart.
Stephen Fry's entire performance in just this season is brilliant
The last turkey in the shop 😂
“He is a general didn’t really think I could refuse” 😂😂😂
George telling Edmund about his date with Melchett might be the funniest scene out of all the four blackadder series’ and as you can imagine that’s up against some pretty stiff competition 😂
02:51 Telling you, Laurie can ACT
"Chipmunk!" - Rowan A's facial acting...subtle! Top Stuff
2:50 - perfect piece of acting by Hugh Laurie.
so this comment is the reason 2:50 is the most replayed
His acting is great in that whole scene. The situation is utterly absurd and you still buy into him being torn 😂
I’ve always been surprised that him and Fry didn’t do much comedy following the wrap up of Jeeves and Wooster
They were all great, but h Laurie in particular as George and as the prince regent in the third series was brilliant.
Georgina stole his heart😂
"The last turkey in the shop" Pure gold!
So sad that chipmunk trode on a mine🤣🤣🤣
Melchett was really distraught... ish

Sheer comic genius! Everything about this series is brilliant... the writing, the acting... just so funny!
The fact that Stephen is actually gay makes this all that much more hilarious !
He sure seems happy in this scene. Georgina is a lucky girl!
If, by some unforeseeable chance, I ever meet Hugh Laurie, I'm going to call him 'Chipmunk'.
The scripts are pure genius probably the best ever for a comedy and delivered beautifully.Looking at the last turkey 🦃 in the shop.Wonferful stuff
Lost count how many times I’ve watched this one, genius!
This is versatility from drag to the "worst man in the world" in the Night Manager.
Fry is a favorite of mine ... always so funny !
The whole Georgina/Melchett story always gave me Some Like It Hot Daphne/Osgood III. vibes 💕
I got those same vibes 😆
" Gazing at the last turkey in the shop " on ones wedding night hilarious .
"You said yes." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
the way he says what 😂
That rose bite is one of my favorite comedy bits ever!!!
This Guy Fawkes..do we let him of or what😆😆
Atkinson sounds like Mr. Bean when he rants 😂
Fantastic !
I feel so validated in my choice to buy the full set 🥰
He looks so pretty dressed up as a lady.
Dr. House????! 😂
Definitely a "Some Like It Hot" vibe here
Just brilliant 😂

Last turkey in the shop😂😂😂😂
Seeing Jeeves acting this way is a tad unsettling.
You should have added an extra minute so that we could see the bad news of Georgina's death.
CHIPMUNK?!!
2:40 Oh, the similar scene from House.. 😮
"The perfect women is not a women" (S2E13) Skin Deep
good catch. the utlimate woman is a man
I would.!!!
2:32 Hugh Laurie from "House" certainly has come a long way.
This series of Blackadder broadcast 1989. 'House' was from 2004.
You may laugh but by the standards of the time George could easily have passed for a pretty lady. Look at some old photos.
Even today, he looks very preety with the dress and jewellery.
I am up for changes in the LBW rule
Worlds cutest couple
If he says "I love you", he's decent,
but he's a GOAT'd keeper if he says *00:48**.*
...Tim! Tim! TIM!
Who is Foxbloe that Blackadder mentioned at the end? I can’t find that information. Does anyone know?
Is it actually “This Guy Fawkes bloke, do we let him off, or what?” (The words definitely do sound like they run into one another.)

0:57 better not do that in 2020 or 2021 🦠😱
Not in 1915 to 1918 either. The Spanish Flu was Epidemic to WW1 Soldiers and they Spread it when they returned home
This is hilarious. Don't make em like this anymore
I remember thinking it was so gross they were uncle and nephew 🤣

@@filipzawistowski4390 Nah, Melchett was friends with George's uncle 'Batty'. They were at university together.

Batty means crazy (which he might very well have been).
Pure bloody girl bait

❤🌞🤣👍
What?😂😂😂😂😂😂
The first femboy.
Should just say dear or love or just call him Kevin
What sells this scene is that he looks utterly ridiculous in women's clothing.
I think he looks fantastic
Your opinion is valid. It's wrong, but you're welcome to share it
@@mrjoe332 He'd look amazing in a tux but it wouldn't work for the scene.
His Adam's apple is a bit of a giveaway as well.
I think his attire is presentable but his face doesn't quite match the aesthetic.
Brilliant comedy routine, comparable to Abbott and Costello.
Rowan Carrie's the show
There’s a US senator complaining about Drag Shows in the military, like it’s a new thing.
Bloody txt..'carries'
You couldn't pull comedy like this off today without the rainbow brigade getting upset.
Sad

You're misinformed. 'Napkin' is the word used by the middle class in England and Scotland.
