When "A Gifted Man" started, I always thought the title of the show was a partly a pun on Patrick Wilson, who is as you say is a gifted man. He is one of the best tenors I've every heard. My eyes tear up when I watch this video. I saw him first on "Phantom of the Opera" and heard or read somewhere that he got the part of Curly right after the director heard him sing this song.
I love him so much. I could listen to him all day. What a beautiful voice. I would like to see more is him. He doesn't get enough credit for being an awesome singer and actor. ❤️❤️
I didn't realize this was the man on "Phantom of the Opera." I started to research him when I saw him on "A Gifted Man" and started listening to his music. WOW! He truly IS a gifted man!
Patrick Wilson, I was really surprised to hear your song. I saw on the Internet that you were from a musical. Maybe you're so good at singing. I love your song so much that it gives my body goose bumps. :-) I regret why I didn't know you early. I applaud your song.P.S IM SOUTH KOREAN
Here are some other Patrick Wilson sightings on UA-cam. Most likely you are already aware of them, but just in case. . . Barbra Streisand released a Broadway themed duets album in 2016 called Encore. Barbra asked several actors to join her on the album, including Patrick Wilson and Hugh Jackman. Patrick joined Barbra to perform Loving You from Stephen Sondheim's musical Passion. It is a wonderful duet that includes a bit of dialogue to give the song some context. Be sure to check out the related video of Patrick and Barbra working together on the song. When Julie Andrews was one of the honorees at the Kennedy Center Honors some years ago, it was Patrick Wilson who started off the performance part of the tribute singing On The Street Where You Live from My Fair Lady. Patrick Wilson and Kelli O'Hara did a limited run performance of a concert version of Brigadoon. There are some videos out there from their performance.
There's a bright, golden haze on the meadow There's a bright, golden haze on the meadow. The corn is as high as an elephant's eye And it looks like it's climbing clear up to the sky. Oh, what a beautiful mornin' Oh, what a beautiful day. I've got a beautiful feelin' Everything's goin' my way. All the cattle are standin' like statues All the cattle are standin' like statues They don't turn their heads as they see me ride by But a little brown mav'rick is winkin' her eye Oh, what a beautiful mornin' Oh, what a beautiful day. I've got a beautiful feelin' Everything's goin' my way. All the sounds of the earth are like music All the sounds of the earth are like music The breeze is so busy it don't miss a tree An' a ol' weepin' willer is laughin' at me Oh, what a beautiful mornin' Oh, what a beautiful day. I've got a beautiful feelin' Everything's goin' my way. Oh, what a beautiful day!
Thanks for taking the time to reply! Which one you like better? I like better the live one better. He is absolutely amazing. I wish he produced a DVD. I just wonder why he doesn't. It will be huge hit! Maybe we need to pitch him the idea!
Pilar Garcia How do you think we can bring it up to him to maybe produce a DVD or do more? I watched Les Miserables and it apparently won a bunch of awards. No one in there can sing like Patrick Wilson, he should have been there. I wonder why he wasn't. The Phantom of the Opera is far superior and I didn't see that they were even nominated.
So far Patrick's only Sondheim performance that I'm aware of was a duet with Barbra Streisand on her 2016 Encore album. They sang Loving You from Sondheim's musical Passion.
I am sorry. His pronunciation of 'meadow', attempting some kind of imagionary Oklahoma regional accent, really put me off, and I could listen no furthur.
It is how Patrick was told to sing by the director of the stage show. Not his own dodgy way of singing it. His voice is amazing. Look for ‘its almost like being love’ from brigadoon that he sung with kelli o’hara its a lot more recent and stunning.
He sounds like a Disney prince!! Beautiful!
And looks like one too.
I could See and listen to Patrick all day!! What a beautiful man!!
One of the best voices ever.
I'll never tire of listening to Patrick Wilson!
What a gift this man has.
Strong, clear voice.
Such a wonderful singer and actor.

Same! I wish he'd do more musical roles. He has a great singing voice and it would be a shame to bury it.
I love Patrick Wilson. He sings like an Angel!
he has such a great voice!
Instant mood boost and day brightener every time I watch
I love Patrick Wilson, oh, this man... :)
wow. who knew he could sing like this? really really great!

thank you for posting
Wow!
Seeing this I have to wonder how long it will be before people will be able to gather like this in public spaces. This was 18 years before CoVid.
I LOVE YOU PATRICK WILSON
Beautiful Vibrato ❤
He’s the best
He is beautiful in a multi faceted way….
niceeeeeeee
Terrific
@reallpw Me too! Sooo glad to have found it! Love Patrick's version! :)
He should cut an album!
he was Raoul
I love Patrick Wilson and his voice is amazing.
What a number
A great singer a marvelous tenor. He and Hugh Jackman deserve to be better recognized as singers
I listened to this version and the 202 Oklahoma revival, I notice a difference, why is that?
Ale Garcia Sais me too, maybe because this was live, the one was the play itself, there was some acting involved, whatever, he is magnificent!
Thanks for taking the time to reply! Which one you like better? I like better the live one better. He is absolutely amazing. I wish he produced a DVD. I just wonder why he doesn't. It will be huge hit! Maybe we need to pitch him the idea!
Ale Garcia Sais I like them both! Anything by Patrick Wilson! I am so in love with him, especially as Raoul!
Ale Garcia Sais have you heard his "The Full Monty - Man". He is simply awesome! Great actor, great singer, I listen to him every night!
Pilar Garcia How do you think we can bring it up to him to maybe produce a DVD or do more? I watched Les Miserables and it apparently won a bunch of awards. Knock me the hell OVER!!!!!!!
Swoon
😘😘😘
Was there before The Conjuring movies. I wonder why he never did Sondheim.

It's often the case that the non-operatic singer's quality readily surpasses that of the operatic as here."
However, not in this case, with this performance.
dopey comment, Oklahoma ain''t an opera, it's a musical comedy written for a non-operatic voice
G L O R I O U S . It turns out that Joe Pitt was much more than a conflicted Mormon! I knew he had great things in him and sure enough ...
On the meadAH???
Why was Patrick not cast in the Greatest Showman? He would’ve been amazing 😭
He’s not British.
@@sheilabloom6735but Hugh Jackman is Australian?
I think he's better than Hugh Jackman. What a magnificent voice.
Good technique and not an art singer. Well done like Gordon MacRae. 'High compliment.
Okay not to to judge or anything, beautiful voice. But may I just say “there’s a bright golden haze on the meadaaaa”
Come on. He's supposed to be a hick cowboy; it's in the show.
Its how he was directed to sing it in the show.
I am sorry. His pronunciation of 'meadow', attempting some kind of imagionary Oklahoma regional accent, really put me off, and I could listen no furthur.

@@spookysindyAgree. Sing with Kelli is gorgeous. Most people only know him from The Conjuring.
