Killer video man, straight to the point, no fluff or b.s., just detailed step by step tutorial. I've changed wheel bearings, but never CV joints/axles on my 2009 Cobalt LT. Thanks man

I can't believe what I just saw. A mechanic replacing a CV axle step by step and nothing else! It was the most beautiful DIY video i've ever seen. The man didn't waste even a second of time with unnecessary intro greetings, begging for likes and shares, or generic ramblings. Well Done Sir.

Great video! It helped me get a good idea of how to do it on my 2010 cobalt ss. But for anyone who does this on a 2.0 SS W/ manual trans heres the difference:
-It's a 36mm to break the center bolt
    - be VERY GENTAL when removing the cv axle or you will tear the seal!
    - 2 quarts of tranny fluid. It will come out because of the different design
Again best video I found just trying to help add info for those with SS's like me 😁👌🏾

They may apply for the turbocharged models made 08 and after but the supercharged model (05-07) still uses a 30 mm for the axle nut and it actually takes 1.6 qts of manual transmission fluid. Make sure to only use ACDELCO GL-4(75w-85). You will only be able to get this from a dealership due to the specific additives.

This was very clear, thank you. I dunno if you check your comments much, but what happens if you accidentally pull out the part after the intermediate shaft? a bunch of transmission fluid came out before I managed the separate the smaller inner piece and get it back in there. I then continued with the installation normally. I am going to assume I now need to top off my transmission fluid, but are there other consequences of what happened that I did not consider? I made sure I plugged the hole with a clean microfiber towel as fast as I could so hopefully no dust went into the transmission. My current course of action is to add Dexron VI full synthetic automatic transmission fluid. That is what forums are telling me for the automatic 09 cobalt LT.

I replaced mine with a used oem one due to the outer boot being ripped. From what I've seen, the aftermarket axles have softer rubber boots that deteriorate faster than oem.

Would a bad CV cause a plastic sounding clicking noise when getting up to 50 miles an hour and higher? Front driver and passenger side wheels both click and rattle when getting up to speed but kind of stop when turning. It doesn't click at all when turning left or right but going straight, it's terrible.
