I had at least somewhat decent tastes back then, even if I didn't understand half of the jokes or references he was making. 3. That Yahtzee is still producing content of similar, if not better, quality to what I enjoyed over a decade ago.
A good chunk of that is probably because Croshaw hasn't succumbed to his persona the way a lot of the early 'angry funny man on the internet' video reviewers have. When you watch or read his more long form reviews it's very clear that even with games he doesn't like, a lot of the attitude is purely performative and he does put a lot of thought and has an interest in learning and articulating WHY he thinks some games are good and some are bad. Mongoloid is funnier.
This is going to be a fantastic documentary!
29:15 Yahtzee accurately predicting reboot Kratos
It’s weird how I’ve only heard about Braid‘s interesting way to tell a story and Yahtzee more or less ignored it
From 2008 to 2023, ZP you will be missed
What do you mean? We still have Second Wind!
I will say, coming back to this 18 years later really reveals how the industry has changed/stayed the same in almost 2 decades.
As much as we now hate The Escapist, we need to archive this for the sake of history
@ 45:34
Thumbs up for reminding me of Psycho Billy Freakout.
Um... You put the Sonic Unleashed review in there twice.
FutureBoyEXE I thought I was going nuts! I'm not the only one!
and parts of Mercenaries 2 were repeated too, but still, good video.
Yeah, very strange. I mean, they are literally just dragging and dropping one video after the other into a sequence timeline. You'd think they would notice if they dragged the same video down twice.
Sonic raced towards the end to get another one in
@@skepticallypwnd they're not. They're pretty heavily editing it in order so mistakes will happen. They cut out some jokes so they had to have done more than just play them in order
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they did a "Review of the Year" to cover Christmas that year that was the Sonic Unleashed review again.
Those 'shorts' are top notch, I almost forgot about them lol
18:55 they removed the line "designed by Hitler"
They censored quite a bit, like another nazi reference in Burnout Paradise. Sticking with the full Zero Punctuation playlist is better, even if means the window reloading every 5 minutes.
@@Klontruppe Or you can rush over to the unofficial collection and download them all while we still have them.
I appreciate the fact that we get official compilations now but the back catalog being censored is the reason I will hold onto those forever.
Oh no! Anyway...
I conveniently got 3 hours left to live. No better way to spend it than to watch this.
R.I.P.
Did they re-edit some of these? It feels like the painkiller one takes out the "bad guys don't give me any kind of stiffy" joke.
Yeah some stuff have been edited away, though since they kept jokes about, say, drugged prostitutrs getting diced, I'd say it ain't down to PC:ness.
@@09csr it's weird because some gay jokes have been cut out, and some have been left in. All the Hitler jokes are gone, but the stuff about drugged prostitutes is still here. And the Sonic Unleashed video is in here twice.
Idk who edited this but it almost feels like they weren't really trying very hard, or they have some VERY specific hangups in VERY specific circumstances lol
11 years... time flies
I completely forgot about the Loss episode, and until now, I never noticed the Evangelion reference at 52:09
How is that an Evangelion reference? Yes, I don't get it.
Omg I'm drunk and I just looked behind myself when you said!!!!!!!!! I love you so much.
RIP Zero Punctuation, 2007-2023
The Painkiller review got censored too, after mentioning the 'big fat architectural stiffy' he mentions the variety of dudes, and the bit 'they don't give me any kind of stiffy though, that would be gay' got removed.
Yup theres a TON of censorship in these new compilations. Like, holy shit soooo many redacted lines. A damn shame.
awww man i finally watched it all, took like 4 says of random viewings but i did it
15:45 and 2:40:00 why is the same review for sonic in twice?
@@Sebastian_Athea They proofwatched it enough to catch every reference to Hitler and censor them out, if they care enough about thoroughness to bother making the videos worse and less funny they ought to care enough not to pull repeats.
Kinda funny you mention a toy box full of stealth gear considering the most useful stealth tool you have is...
The toy box

In the original Fallout 3 review, the name at 2:23:03 is "fagballs."
If I was a had no self respect, self worth, lacked any and all redeeming qualities and found the only reasons for being kept around contained in the little mutations of common law that make it illegal to fucking off people, I might be blindly rageful - or even a tiny bit angry - about that PC retcon.
But I'm not.
And anyone would be is a fagball.
Ah I still love the old ones
The 2010 one didn't have any ads in it, and I'm surprised this did because Yahtzee here seems to make it a goal to get every single wordvomit video demonetized into a highly localized recession.
Well this is awesome, thanks Escapist! :D
The censorship in these compilations is pretty sad...
There are other channels that had those without any ounce of censorship, but good luck finding those before getting took down.
To be fair this video has still got away with using words like "Fagotry".
What do you mean?
@@TheBoshman95 a bunch of hitler jokes were cut out as well as others. Likely making up about 20 minutes.
It contains jokes about drugged prostitutes getting diced. Easy baby Hitler, this isn't censorship, it's editing.
Now give us 2009-2017!!!
I used to think the line about shouting his favourite dessert and gaining superpowers was funny, until I was taught the Lemon Meringue Paioken technique

Reason why Burnout Revenge is the best Burnout game.
I love how they cut out the references to hitler... causing the comments section to explode with “where’s the references to hitler?”
Whatever problem they were trying to solve by editing the videos.. I’m not sure they made things better.

Is it me, or are some reviews outright missing from this? I don't remember seeing the review for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune in this.
You've got sonic unleashed in there twice...
You cut out one of the best jokes of the Painkiller review. You know, how the monsters don't give you a stiffy because that would be gay.
It's OK to be politically correct but that's a joke from a decade ago with a different context.
"Its ok to be politically correct"
No its not.
I wish they at least had the balls to leave them in and show the differences of the jokes then and now.
I would love to know if Yahtzee even knows they edited some of them out.
