@@katkilr7685 Red Road is son of the Avoca and Giraffe Males (aka Western Males) and born in Birmingham pride 2013/2014. He has the same fathers and mothers/aunts as YBM Osindile. There are pictures, you have to look for them from Ngala.
YBM has grown into a magnificent adult lion. I'll never forget the WildEarth stream of him holding off 8 or 9 hyenas through the night to protect a kill.
Great to see YBM again I remember he had a bad hip injury when he was a young male and often being chase by the Ross males. I hope these two males stay together and become dominant over this territory.

I think the demise of the Orpen Males oddly did not do them any favors. No other males would have driven them away from their natal pride anytime soon and they needed to gain that confidence of survival that can only be gained from the nomadic stage. They never had one because they became "stuck" with their natal pride and without other males coming in to chase them away or challenge them, they had no valuable experience either.

Yes and the dark maned lion is the Torchwood male . He had been missing and ybm was searching for him . I feared Torchwood might be dead .so happy to see him with ybm (Osindile) .

@auntiez4917 Yep. Half brother of the mighty Dark Mane. Red Road, YBM (Osindile), and Dark Mane are my favorite lions coincidentally. Was always routing for Dark Mane until the end. Eventually i started to really like S8 until his suspicious end.
YBM took some beating from the Ross Males growing up, he never gave up. YBM was very funny having them chase him around for a bit, one of the Ross males they called the mean Ross male, he really didnt want YBM around at all sometimes the other brother tolerated YBM. I believe that coalition and female pride carries that white gene.? If im wrong , please correct me, but i remember seeing a beautiful white male whos could be in his prime by now and a younger female. This is the Skybeds dam area, bordering Orpen and H7 Nharu Pride and Red Road, Mbiri Pride doesn't circle much in this position. Orpen were the former home ground of Pride Birmingham in the past until 2011/12. Birmingham only took over Ngala in 2014 when Red Road was born The Old Lioness White Dot is the mother of Osindile and Red Road

He got his limp by the Ross males. They abused him when he was a young sub adult and gave him the permanent limp. He wouldn’t leave and never gave into them and endured the abuse.
Torchwood Male was sired by the B'hams, and his partner is the well-known Osindile from the B'ham Pride, that was badly mauled by the Ross Males when he would not leave as a sub-adult.
It's actually common in the wild including Kruger, Serengeti, Mara, etc. Lions require many generations of inbreeding before genetic defects are noticed, almost as if nature expected it to occur oddly.
