    Incredible sighting of the two Addo males moving south to challenge Kwandwe and Monomoholo for their territory
    I followed the two Addo males for nearly an hour and a half as they were making their way south, they were calling constantly until the two males from the south heard them and started calling back, you could see the two Addo males starting to move a little bit faster.
    Once they got within striking distance you could see they were a little bit hesitant, however it was too late as Kwandwe and Monomoholo locked eyes on them, the chase was now on! They managed to pin the one Addo male to the ground with his brother coming back shortly after to try and help, he quickly realized he can't help and that's when he moved about 100m away.
    Sadly it ended with one of the Addo males losing his life in a attempt to expand their territory and finding more females.

    Not sure which pair was considered the invaders and which pair was protecting their turf, but it was clear that the two victorious males were older, larger, and it's easy to see why they dominated. Just the comparative size of their manes tells it all.

      It is for a good reason that our ancestors chose lions, amongst eagles as the most prominent animals on coats of arms worldwide. They are the most majestic of all known creatures, not only because they are blessed with enourmous strength and agility that allows them to kill prey up to four times their size.. in the case of the eagle even more.. but also because of their unrelentless behavior when it comes to protect their genepool and territory and almost alien audacity and courage before entering a fight.

    African Lions ( Panthera leo) the Cubs have a mortality rate of up to 75% by the time they are 18 months. Past that young Males are forced out to wander. Form a Coalition hopefully and grow big and strong. Unfortunately if they try a take over of a territory. Defended by mature Male Líon's such as these two. Even though it was two on two. The tide quicky turned when his Coalition partner ran away. Leaving this younger Male Líon at mercy of mature Male Líon's. Who understand no quarter shall be asked or given. Hard to watch yet such is life on the African Savannah. Only the fittest survive to claim a territory. 💪🏼🙏🏻✨

Male lions view humans males or females same way as us male humans view women, they simply dont pose a physical threat most of the time, so we dont get our defences up. When in other hand if you walk past group of other men lets say 11pm and you are alone, i guarantee you, you will prepare a little bit right? Thats just how i see this, the lions know that they can fuck us up if needed.

      Well , the addo boys initially singled out kwandwe and attacked him 2 v 1 before this. These boys were young beautiful and aggressive . Kwandwe being larger he could hold his ground although he got pushed around alot since it was 2 v 1 . But when he came back with his coalition partner. The darker maned monomoholo , the addo boys stood no chance. It's a shame , would have loved to watch them grow , the last addo Boy hasn't been sighted for a long time . The dark mane monomoholo passed this year from natural causes. The big kwandwe is with his son I think , a new coalition . Rip addo boy , you truly would have made an excellent king . The pcm males are pretty aggressive too , much like the addo boys , but maybe more scarier

    This is the reason why lions can't really fight.
    It's about the numbers, not individual fighting skills.
    Lions evolved a stiff and streamline body to run really fast in the open plains.
    And strong social intelligence to with battlers against their own kind.
    Jungle cats, tigers, jaguars, and leopards, are the true MMA fighting cats of the world.

    • @chaossector5909
      @chaossector5909 11 місяців тому

      lions are not the best out of the big cats...that's obvious. and the reason is relative to hunting skills. Tigers, Jaguars and Leopards rely more on stealth than Lions, so their attacks/strikes are more accurate. Lions rely more on their strength, and their habitat is more savage than the other big cats. AND, their prey are also a bit savage themselves. But old footage of a Lion vs Tiger, showed that the Tiger gave up first, but as far as damage inflicted...the Tiger was believe to inflict more damage to the Lion. Yet, the Lion would continue to fight.
      So if it were a fight to the death, more than likely the Lion would survive. If we're talking fighting styles, yeah the Tiger wins hands down. Do you want to have the better fighting skills, or be the last one standing?

  • @blakewang2373
    @blakewang2373 4 місяці тому +3

    Pretty sad to see this happen. the younger nomatic lions who probably challenged the older pair got destroyed. The one that ran away was probably a fresh adult around 3 years old. It's too young and inexperienced to fight against the older males so it ran leaving it's likely older brother behind to 1v2. The brother suffered a fatal injury as a result. Lions are just like humans, their worst enemies are each other.

    This didn't look like a territorial take over attempt, as the Addo lions were not actually roaring but rather calling out. Judging by their soft sounds I suspect they wanted to get the attention of the females. They seemed to have interacted with them in one way or another before. I am impressed by the pride lions attack strategy. The lion who approached by using the tour vehicle as cover proceeded to deliberately expose himself, like he was inviting the Addo boys to fully focus on him. But it soon turned out to be a diversion strategy as his colleague attacked from the flanks. They didn't just want to chase the Addos, but to catch them. I would like to believe that this is the strategy they been using to hunt their prey.

Fair fights like this, when one or two males are brave enough to stand it's ground and the other male or males takes off and leave the other of others and they get outnumbered. Then they become the next target while being outnumbered. In this case too, that lone male that was being attack could of easily ran as well but he stayed. What ever driven instinct these majestic animals has is purely amazing because in many cases only a badly injured animal would holds it's ground in a life and death situation like that.
