Have them for years. So has friends who brought it backpacking. Never broke one. Don’t slide the glass down like that. Extend it with the glass in place, unscrew the base and light. They’re great 👍🏽
I have not had a issue or known anyone personally that has had issues with a uco glass breaking . Only problem I ever had was cleaning wax before putting in another candle . original glass mantle still in great shape for over 29 years and other 2 no issues for 9 and 10 years . All these have been packed up and hiked in hundreds of miles . I use candles , alcohol and kerosene in my uco lanterns . The best candle lantern made . I have use them since mid 80s and nothing broke yet .
On the original candle lanterns you change the candle the same way. By unscrewing the bottom of be lantern. You literally can’t replace it any other way. Has the video creator ever used one in real life?

I didn’t know they existed but that’s a very useful way to get the best of both worlds! Thanks for sharing
