@@sbakernyc5761 Lol you would think right? I had heard about her but always thought she was a weird crack head but obviously I was super wrong. Once I listened to her I instantly fell in love with her. I didnt start listening to her until last year and wish I had been listening when she was still alive.
No unnecessary vocal gymnastics. Just the minimum to carry the song. She was head and shoulders above her contemporaries and the tendency amongst so many singers to show off their vocal techniques rather than make the song come alive. I am not a fan as such, but even as a passing admirer I can hear her talent in every note and in the perfectly styled delivery of her performance. A truly great singer and a tragic loss of a talent so young.
One of the best voices of all time. It was just effortless for her. She looked a million miles away here, bored really and it just flowed out of her naturally...damn.
She was so disconnected from reality toward the end of her life. The voice, oddly enough, was disconnected from reality, too. On another level vocally, really.
Agreed, she even stated she hated singing these songs that reminded her of when things were bad, but they constantly made her sing them because they were hits. Amazing how she still seems to sing them unlike anyone else can.

She passed on my 30th Birthday. I absolutely adore her. After that day I got clean/sober. It has been 101/2 years now. I wish she could have made the journey with me.
that voice , just a guitar, no loud enhancers, back ups or whatever else others use to sound good-- all she needed/had was that voice . Need more be said?
A great guitarist (whose contribution is often overlooked) and a great vocal talent! To make such music without the additional digital enhancements is the true sign of a great vocalist and a great musicien. Wonderful.... not to be forgotten.
Haden Dover not flawless, she lost the rhythm a couple of times. To be fair, the guitarist was rushing a bit and playing non complimentary rhythmic phrases.
This immediately brings wetness to my eyes. Oh Amy, you are the one. You are the queen of complete talent. How dare you leave us. We wanted to hold you in our arms for many, many years. You were never trouble. You were a cut above this world.
one of the greatest singer song writers in the past 40 years a true musical genius . No one else sounds like Amy and she sounded completly different each time she sang the same song. She was one of a kind who could write a truly heart felt emotinal song brutally honest with a sound that was retro jazz hip hop her own style.
" Every Angel has a past; and every Sinner has a Future" .“May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face. And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.”, the tears are now for when we see each other again, I don't want to be sad anymore but I can't stop crying when I see you or hear your voice. Love.....
She’s not giving Alf of a shit, she’s lost in herself and just let the song pour out, which is the hardest thing for a singer, and she does it like she’s not even caring about it, Flawless.
I can’t stop playing this. I’m mind blown at how amazing she is. I discovered her way too late but I’ll never stop listening. God bless you girl. You’re amazing and now free 🙏💖
Just a magnificent singer. So talented it makes your head ache. That voice will live on forever. And an amazing songwriter to boot. Her should have been so Big that nobody could stand next to her. For her to be so unaware of the magnitude of it is still mind boggling.
So timeless and I just can’t believe I’ve just recently been introduced to this magnificent voice and love how she plays with her nails while belting out a tune that nobody but her could do
Thank you Amy for introducing me to some fine jazzy guitar playing. Thank you for putting your fears and despair in these lyrics and helping me to get through troubles I'm in right now. I'll pray for your soul so it can have peace in other world ❤️
If I could ever find a time machine, the very first thing I would want do is go back in time and save her so that the world could be blessed with her music and honoured with the sheer presence of miss wine house. There will never be, can never be another Amy Winehouse. Can't believe it's 11 years already. Love from Pakistan. We love you and always will. Peace.

what i love about the way she performed is that u can just tell how genuine her connection to her music was. I could be able to listen to her songs with my mother but i was just 4 years old, so i never was really interested in her :/

Probably the drugs.
She was already introverted
I've never seen the color black shine the way she did
That's the most profound comment I ever read about darling Amy.
me, too! it is just the most beautiful colour of all!
That actually makes more sense than it should!
nice observation i agree
Very well said. Thank you.
These rare acoustic performances show how beautiful her voice really was.
No autotune, no fancy production just amy and her guitar player perfect sweetheart
Dang!

She had so much to offer to the world, her love of music and the way she wrote her songs was amazing, I miss you Amy
Nah, she gave all she had to offer. The sad part was she was given little back.
Her shy smile at the end...such an authentic artist
...Amy feels everything she sings and so she relives past heartaches...which isn't easy!

"You Know I'm No Good"
Meet you downstairs in the bar and hurt,
Your rolled-up sleeves in your skull t-shirt,
You say, "What did you do with him today?"
And sniffed me out like I was Tanqueray,
'Cause you're my fella, my guy,
Hand me your Stella and fly,
By the time I'm out the door,
You tear me down like Roger Moore,
I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would,
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I'm no good,
Upstairs in bed, with my ex-boy,
He's in a place, but I can't get joy,
Thinking on you in the final throes,
This is when my buzzer goes,
Run out to meet you, chips and pitta,
You say, "When we're married,"
'Cause you're not bitter,
"There'll be none of him no more,"
I cried for you on the kitchen floor,
I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would,
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I'm no good,
Sweet reunion, Jamaica and Spain,
We're like how we were again,
I'm in the tub, you on the seat,
Lick your lips as I soak my feet,
Then you notice little carpet burn,
My stomach drop and my guts churn,
You shrug and it's the worst,
Who truly stuck the knife in first
I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I'm no good,
I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would
I told you I was trouble,
Yeah, you know that I'm no good.
