New Mist Form Animation + Skill Rework for Vampire in ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) - PTS U37 Week 1

- This is the new Mist Form animation that is currently on PTS week 1 of Scribes of Fate U37 DLC.
"Another larger rework is for the infamous Mist Form skill in the Vampire skill line, as a result of all of the back-and-forth issues and balance changes we’ve seen with the skill’s evolution through the game’s history. With this rework, we tried to go back to the drawing board about what the fantasy and identity of the skill was trying to evoke, which is meant to be the iconic feeling of blinking into mist and avoiding attacks, dashing around from foe to foe and taking them down or avoiding damage in the process. In this update, Mist Form is no longer a toggled effect or one that reduces your damage while active or causing you to become immune to crowd control. Instead, it focuses on quick and liberating movement, causing you to quickly travel to your targeted location as a gap closer while simultaneously avoiding incoming projectiles while you do so"
Mist Form: This ability and its morphs are no longer a toggled ability that reduce your damage taken from players or grant crowd control immunity while active. Instead, they now teleport you to the position of your cursor, up to a maximum of 15 meters away, and reduce your damage taken from the next 3 projectiles by 100% while teleporting. Casting any of these abilities will increase the cost of the ability by 33% for 4 seconds. The base cost is now 4050 per cast, which reduces to 3780 at rank IV of the base ability.
Elusive Mist (morph): This morph now grants Major Expedition and Major Evasion for 4 seconds after reappearing, rather than just Major Expedition.
Blood Mist (morph):
This morph now causes you to deal damage around you and heal for the damage caused once every 2 seconds over 20 seconds after activating the ability, rather than once every second while active.
Increased the damage per tick by approximately 9%.
Dev Comment: This skill has been a wild ride for the past 8 years and while we tried to preserve the original skill as much as we could with the rework, we've run into far too many issues with how the skill was used and how it operated, and its current iteration doesn’t have enough use between all gameplay types. While it was a widely used skill and could be a lot of fun to play with, it was creating many unhealthy gameplay implications in both PvE and PvP and was being used in ways that didn't feel very Vampiric in nature. We've decided to go back to the drawing board to hit on what the original skill was trying to evoke in terms of feel and use. To try and retain the element of slipping into mist and evading attacks, we've shifted the skill into more of a movement-oriented ability, rather than a pure utility and defensive one, causing you to slip into mist temporarily to evade projectiles and make a hasty retreat or engage. The morphs still focus on the same options as well, where Elusive Mist doubles down on the slippery nature of the skill with bonuses and mitigation, while Blood Mist continues to reward those blood thirsty play styles with life steal. Also be wary of those pesky Fighters Guild attackers! They know how to get around all of these nasty new tricks.

That's a cool update for sure! Now you can still attack while using blood mist to stack another dot on foes I guess!
People meme on how it looks and works, but meanwhile this completely redefines the Out Of Bounds meta which didnt change since release of the game. So far sorc streak was essential to break maps, but new mist form in combination with Arcanist portals opens a bunch of new possibilities.

It's essentially a shorter, prenerfed ball of lightning which I wouldn't necessarily call dollar store

Geez, the lack of any apparent excited content from Alcast these days is really telling of the state of ESO. Remember when he would be so much more involved ? Now he is phoning it in.
I remember the first time I played ESO , it was right after the Summerset DLC had dropped , so many people online, and I met so many players. It was its own metaverse. Especially with console giving you Proximity Voice Chat.
Game was so immersive. It was like a second life you lived.
Im new to ESO, with the Lycan and Vampire, can you still use your normal class as well? For example. If i become a Lycan Arcanist, can i use my Arcanist spells as well as become a lycan and use theirs, then transform back and continue as my arcanist?
Do you think they'll be updating the VFX before it releases? Was really hoping for some bats or something along those lines. The animation looks quite rigid.
Couldn’t agree more!! I’m honestly just hoping for werewolf and vampire travel forms! The lore is there. Pack master can turn into a wolf and travel, and all of vampire NPC’s can turn into bats and travel.
Every combat animations in this game look underwhelming. It's part of the reason why combat gameplay in this game feels so unimpactful and bland.
Which is why the game will never reach high levels of popularity (likes of FF14 or WoW)
Doubt it. ZoS has become pretty lazy when it comes to animations/sounds. If it was a new class or skill line it would be better but this is just some quick fix.
Let's see though - they can surprise us.
My opinion stems from the fact that the vampire spammable still sounds like dog shit hitting the wall. Also most recently I was playing through deadlands and your character has to destroy these monstrous cores -- how they chose to animate this? Your character getting out a hammer and wacking it. Fucking A+ *sarcasm*
EDIT: Also, just want to add that if they were to give you an improved animation - it will be via crown store or crates.
@@101CBR600RR I guess my issue is that a direct 10000% better visual animation exists in the form of the "bat swarm dash" skill already present on NPCs. It would not be that hard to at least smooth out Elusive Mist and rename blood mist to "Swarming Mist" or something to justify the slick bat animation.
If the NPCs didn't have an objectively smoother looking skill I wouldn't be complaining tbh.

This is amazing!!!!!!! MUCH needed for MIST. NOW, I just wish Vampiric Drain was not a 'CHANNEL' - They need to make it like a Haunting Curse or something where you can cast it and move on. NO ONE uses it because they cant do anything else while channeling and its not that powerful alone.
This, with the portals from the new class, is going to have PvP looking like Christmas year round.
Did you stop running to cast it for some reason or does the skill forcibly stop you?
It stops you. You have to target where you want to go before you actually cast it. Like elemental storm or grand healing. Gonna be really wonky on console especially since it doesn’t work on stairs

Looks good to me just a bit work with better animations when it's on mist form, I wish you could fly for that range or if aim at a ledge be able to get there like how the new portals from the arcanist work.

Did the devs just give vampires streak, with the cost stacking and all that. I mean there's even a damage morph, and a movement/defensive morph even. I'm fairly sure the start up animation is similar, if not identical, too.

I just want them to remove minimum distance requirement for cliff racer's off balance proc, and speed up the projectile animation by 40%
I enjoyed the toggle option more for RP purposes. This is just stupid. There's already a streak / jump ability, I hate this.

Hmm. Not sure I’ll use it long term, but I’ll at least give it a try. Looks weird through. Could definitely use a bat effect with it or something. I’m glad to see they’re at least tinkering with the skill. My main is a Vamp and most of the skills feel useless to me. Which sucks. But I hold out hope for improvement. Having abilities just like or similar to the vampire npc’s would be great. Like the Feed animation. Needs to come from the mouth and not the hand, imo.

Fr,vampire always getting worked on and got a re skin but werewolves haven’t been touched.
@@dunninofmountprophet3283 Werewolves are still decent. New skins would be great though. But the entire Vampire skill line is useless apart from the undeath passive.
@@lukasr1166 yeah i understand that, im not really talking about the WW skill line I’m talking about the visuals. Vampire constantly feels fresh and looks cool while werewolves still look how they did in 2015 stuck with either white or black skins morphs.
I think they should add new skins and body types for WW, idc if they add them on the market place but something to make WW look unique. vampires are pale with red eyes but everyone looks different with their own styles while all WW look the exact same. That’s what I meant really

Could still be in mist form while having blood aoe like night blades or med armor buff. Looks very copy past for thr visuals and yeah just sucks compared to the orginal. I dont play vampire at all but I'd hate to have people not really feel it while playing in my alliance or community.

It feels like the more they try and "fix" skills the more we just get redundant reskins of other skills... class identity has disappeared compared to what I remember. It's all now just similar skills with similar uses and that's not balance.

It's just a quick showcase. Haven't tested it out yet. But yes it looks like old animations were put into here, that is why it looks so scuffed.

For PvP players these days if you are not the individual who only uses Snipe + light attack or other pew pew attacks:

1. Health recovery nerf. = Killed Health rec in PvP
2. Shield against 5-7 snipes and other Pew Pew? Not if you want to die directly
3. Healing got nerfed.
4. Major protection, got nerfed
5. Dmg overall increased.
6. Mist form gets now nerfed to absolut useless.
Yes, again. For those who plays PvE, Dont know! For PvP and for those who only run with zergs (which is the clear majority) this will not have an impact. (Cuz they even not learned healing yet)
What are the "next 3 projectiles" deals no dmg going to help me theese days? Every player that uses a dmg log will show you that it is only for like 1 second..
So, the only thing left is speed now.

This looks so fucking bad, is ZOS even fucking trying at this point? Also, delete the vampirism skill line, the only useful thing it has is Undeath. Was hoping for some cool bats effect like Skyrim, but NOPE LOL
they do seem really hellbent on not giving us bats in any of our basic skills lol...
@@ancient_vampire4790 More like hellbent on keeping the skill line useless. The experience of vampirism is lacking in general, I don't get to feel like one, rarely feed etc. PLUS the abilities suck, so..
The vampire experience in ESO is the worst of all the elder scrolls where's the sun system night powers hermomancy you don't feel like a vampire the only useful stuff is like the undeath passive
Only thing they did right with the vampires are that they feed for strength and not starve to get stronger like the other games
@@winter_ghosth True that, still, I find the vampire experience lacking in that department too, I don't get to feel like a vampire very often. If the skills were actually good the experience would be better too, but alas. Also, the scion form is extremely ugly.

Eso don't get it the day they removed r old Vampire skills they killed the game if u look up how many players said fuck the game because they fucked up then u will know that the game is trash and there is not enough players for the game and that is what they get

At least they trying to do something. I like it because it still helps u with 1 v x scenario and maybe it's viable for pve rather than being annoying in pvp
More clutter to interfere with targeting. Zos goes out of there way to keep people from dieing in PVP.
Another reason to be happy I uninstalled ESO from my SSD 3 years ago. F U ZOS.

The animation looks to slow and awfully clunky. Plus the character being vocal...just no, but hey it's a cool idea.
