I love when he is leaving Matthew’s parent’s house and gets a little choked up when he tells them that he knows some people who are fond of Matthew.
agreed!
Me too❣️One of my favorite scenes.
“Mildly Fond” lol
Mildly fond great wording in that line
Yes! My favorite line from Gaius....
I’m mildly fond of this guy 😀 (His most famous line in the Chosen)
The line was I know some people who are mildly fond of your son
@Taylor Rowe I hope so too
I love sceen too some people who are mildly of Matthew
It broke my heart that he admitted he wasn't a Christian, and I'm compelled to pray for him. I truly want him to know life with Jesus. I can't even imagine my life without Jesus, now that He is my everything. I lived my life my way, and nothing compares to the abundance of Life I have, after giving my life to Jesus. God bless Kirk. Keep showing Yourself to him, I think he wants to know You.
the Holy Spirit works in mysterious ways... you never know...
Apparently he is a longtime friend to Dallas and his family. They have worked together for a long time and I'm sure Dallas would appreciate your prayers for his friend's salvation.
Where there is life there is hope. ✝️💜
I am pretty sure The Chosen will change his life and he converts.
Working for Christian stuff Will bring him a great reward in Heaven.🤗😇🙏
❤❤❤❤
What a special person Kirk is; so soft hearted. The beauty he sees in the Jenkins & fans is God’s Spirit. I pray he comes to Christ.
Awesome interview. I hope Gaius is written in further episodes. He has such a special relationship with Matthew
I have 3 theories about Gaius... which one is most likely?
1) Gaius is going to be the "first christian", the centurion who comes to jesus and requests healing for his servant.
2) Gaius is the centurion who stabs jesus on the cross (to end the pain), and water come out and he recognises him as the messiah
3) Gaius is the biblical character Gaius who accompanies St. Paul (in Acts).. the first generation of missionaries/evangelists
OR it might be all 3 together, the same character
@@jhogrute Great, I would bet on number one!
Do you think he will join the movement, maybe after the Resurrection? Have you seen the movie, "Risen?"
@@elainezimmer6084 risen is a favorite film of mine.. i am from new zealand and the jesus actor there is kiwi... the film is so very subtle... yes i think it is a similar character arc.. clavius in risen was at the crucification and then converted.. i think gaius in the chosen will also oversee the crucification and join the pentacost (first church) in Acts
@@jhogrute Regarding number 3 I was thinking the same! Maybe he's that Gaius from Romans
Gaius is one of my very favorites especially because of the way Kirk plays him. Gaius character is so very interesting. The facial expressions are great!
In the scene in episode 7 where Matthew responds to Jesus’ call to follow him, most of the attention has been given to Paras’ acting (for good reason), but I’m always impressed by Kirk’s acting in that scene as well. His reactions to Matthew’s actions seems so real and natural. Gaius looks dumb-founded that Matthew is going to throw away all the financial and material benefits of working for Rome for a reason he can’t even begin to understand.
Just awesome acting..., just to genuinely appear to be sending Jesus away to leave Matthew alone..., then hearing, behind himself, Matthew leaving his booth and coming out the door behind himself (Gaius), and ABRUPTLY switching his attention to CATCHING Matthew, trying to reason with him, because he CANNOT understand WHY Matthew would just DROP EVERYTHING he's attained and just "throw his life away!" Great acting! So believably realistic! Even though you're acting, you seemed to be genuinely shocked! You are endearing!
Thank you for the wonderful interview with actor Kirk B. R. Woller. His character portrayal as Gaius in the Chosen fascinated me from the beginning. But I didn't know anything about Kirk B. R. Woller as a person, so I am extremely grateful for his statement about his work and his feelings. I must express my deep admiration to him for speaking so openly about his inner feelings and sharing them with us the viewers. He is truly a wonderful, brilliant actor and a lovely and kind man to whom I must pay my respects.
The Chosen is, for me, one of the most impressive series I've ever seen. You talk in this interview that at the time, of the interview, about 50 million people have seen the show. How tremendous it is, and what a deserved success it is, that now in 2023 it is reported in the media that in the meantime the number of viewers has risen to about 500 million or even more worldwide. Unnamed and hidden remains the number of viewers whose lives have been changed for the better by "The Chosen". I am one of those viewers.
Thank you again and God bless you all. ❤🙏🙏🙏
Kirk, what you see in Dallas & others is Christ. Love what I see happening to Gaius. You’re doing a great job! I’m praying for you.
Kirk is an incredible actor! A really kind and humble human being as well. Love the character of Gaius! Kirk portrays him perfectly and adds so much depth to his character. Really hoping he shows up in future seasons and that he does end up becoming the centurion with so much faith from Matthew 8. So much faith that even Jesus could hardly believe it! : D Such an interesting and complex character : )
That would be great.
Dallas if you see this i need more Gias in season two! Love all you guys on the chosen
I hope he is the Centurion whose servant is healed....... Nico and Gaius seem as if they are "following at a distance"..... i root for them in JESUS.
Kirk is such a brilliant actor...I love his portrayal of Gaius...I was in tears with that scene where he spoke of Matthew with his parents...the emotion was superb.
He is one my favorite actors/characters in The Chosen! His subtlety in reactions is so natural... such good acting!
My favorite character ❤❤❤ the look he gives Matthew when he asks "should I have a weapon? "
Classic!
In this interview you can see Kirk's heart. I see exactly what Dallas and Amanda mean when they say that he's more Christian than a lot of Christians that they know. He's one of those rare people who lives his life by what his heart tells him to do. I would love to see another interview with him discussing the changes in Gaius in season 2. I really want to know what Gaius thinks of Atticus. No one seems to understand what Atticus is up to with his snooping on Jesus and I want to know what Gaius thinks is going on and how Kirk is interpreting that.
What a lovely person you are , Kirk! I can tell God's loving hand is upon you!
You know, all the positive energy you find among the fans is nothing but the fruit of Jesus' love, which has transformed us and keeps transforming us until we are just like Him! He's alive and He's at work in our lives. In yours too! I can tell! Much love from Italy.
Great interview! Thank you!
If I'm not mistaken Kirk stated in the interview that he was not a Christian. If so I'm hoping he comes to know the Lord soon.

🙏 as well, Kirk's eyes be open to receiving clear understanding!
Asking Father to draw him!
Kirk, you are saying that Dallas is an amazing person, which I'm sure he is. But you are an amazing human being as well. And the Chosen seems to be the environment that brings out the best of you! Greetings from Bulgaria!
"Hearts of gold." That community is what Christ is all about. Kirk, you belong in this community.
I’m such a fan of his character- talented actor!!!
What a lovely man! No pretence, and beautifully transparent. Loved the interview.
Kirk, a wonderful performance in season 2 in you interactions with Christ. When he assures you Matthew is OK, I could see in your face a moment of relief and wonder. You are perfect as Gaius, a blessing to those of us like Gaius, caught at times between duty and discovery. We all hope to see much more of Gaius as a bridge to that gentile world of the 1st century. May God bless and keep you.
Bless you Kirk for such a wonderful, honest, open interview. It melted my heart. And I love the real & honest way you portray Gaius. Ivegone from 'fearing' his character, to really liking him - & having high hopes that Jesus might win him over. I also love the scene between Gaius & Simon. Bless you so much.
A beautiful man, a loving heart... God is reaching out to him in wonderful ways. 🙏 ✝️💜
And who could better understand Matthew's relationship to the Jewish community, than a Roman who is himself not a "true Roman" like Gaius, a Germanic. Wonderful relationship, Matthew and Gaius.
Meh he’s a roman citizen born n raised and serving the state military… but it didn’t occur to me that’s probably what they were going for by even mentioning his background.
KIrk, your acting is wonderful as Gaius, such a sympathetic character. Your Christian example shines through in all you do and say as well. Blessings Brother. 💜💜
This is one of the best interviews that I have seen since I started watching the CHOSEN.
Great interview! I hope Gaius is a regular character...yes and becomes the Gaius of Acts. I bought the DVD'S and watch them OFTEN! The relationship between Matthew and Gaius is one of my favorites, having a son much like Matthew's character. Nicodemus is also a favorite and Erik Avari is masterful. It is always a heart wrenching moment when Nicodemus stays behind when he wants to go with Jesus. I do cry every time. Also when he kneels before the Savior and kisses his hand and says Kiss the son....OMGOSH! Thank you for this series and I plan to get it for all my kids...all six of them. God Bless.
I want Gaius to become a Christian near the end of the series.
I think Gaius is first Christian knight. He gets sprayed by the blood and the water aka baptized.
Ohhh man was this ever the best interview. The heart that Kirk has is amazing 😍 people you have to watch this awesome interview
Kirk, you are such an authentic actor and so transparent as a person! Thank you for opening up, I pray that God keeps you included in The Chosen for future seasons!!
Agreed Jane Moler. I watched it because of your comment.. and ooh man... great interview indeed~~
I found out about The Chosen late in the game (I’m actually just finishing up watching Season 3 now) and I’ve been blown away by the content, writing, directing, acting, scenery and beautiful people who are involved! I have been so moved, blessed, challenged and encouraged by this profound project! I love Kirk’s beautiful portrayal of Gaius and his relationship with Matthew and then with Simon as well- totally amazing! Thank you for your awesome work and for your beautiful spirit too- seems like you are a kind, hard working person and a seeker of Truth, Kirk - keep going! His bless you all- can’t wait for season 4!
This is the first time I have seen/heard of Mr. Woller. I don’t watch a lot of tv, but I LOVE ❤️ me some Chosen.
He’s a very handsome and talented man.
Thank you Kirk for this interview. Loved getting to know you, you are a wonderful, kind person. Hope to see you in season 2. Know you have many, many, fans wishing you all the best ❤
Kirk, you’re a class act. Thank you for making the Gaius character incredible and three dimensional! You are so patient and kind, an Uber professional in these interviews.
This man has head and the heart altogether ! I’m a fan now. Thanks for giving him this time as guest. I like to see more of him in the upcoming episodes. This actually made me subscribe to this channel + thumbs up.
Watching Kirk as Gaius is emotional. To see the Roman soften and see when his mind is spinning because of the things Jesus does,, I just pray that for Kirk this will make his own heart turn so he will seek Jesus as his own Savior. We know that God's timing is different than our own -"soon" is such a difficult thing. ❤
Kirk, I am so inspired by your care to help these other actors so they can connect & receive the mentorship they need to succeed! Love that! ❤👏
I think Gaius and Matthew's relationship is the outcome of what always happens when you really get to know another person.
Kirk/Gaius we love you unconditionally!! Do you!!
I loved hearing his thought process on the relationship and dynamic between Gaius and Matthew. Great interview.
This is a great interview! What a beautiful mind. I love his views and thoughtfulness. So refreshing to see and hear such kindness and respect for anyone and everyone.
Kirk’s sweetness and gentleman’s style shines through
Thanks, Kirk. I think you hit on one of the reasons for the success of The Chosen. What helped is not only talented actors like yourself, it's the humanity they bring to their roles. Dallas not only chose them, he helps bring out the best in them. You, too, are an encourager. Bless you for saying such nice things to our Noah.
Kirk Woller, what a great person you are. 👌 I warmed to your integrity of heart, acting skills as Gaius and your genuine thoughtfulness toward humanity. Love your spirit and praying that the love Jesus has for you and your family becomes your personal real life experience. I learned much from this interview. 🤗 Thanx.
Great interview for me to get to know the person behind the compassion that comes through in Gaius. Thank you for being authentic!
The Chosen is like a magnificent symphony! Spreads message of love, honor, truth, acceptance & love! ❤❤
I absolutely love this actor and will keep him in my prayers ❤ His heart shines through even if he thinks he is not spiritual 😢
I totally love this character and I'm with the others here, where seeing him have an actual attachment to Matthew is so wonderful! The whole point of this incredible series IS how HUMAN the writing and direction is about the people in this historic time! They were just like us, real people with real feelings, living in very tumulus times, indeed!
I have just started watching the Against the Tide interviews with actors from The Chosen and I am so impressed with what you are doing. Keep up the good work!
I love Gaius the character but even more so having heard Kirk speak. Thank you!!
Kirk, such a wonderful performance. The relationship between your character and Matthew is makes the story so rich and personal. Gaius is a protector, a brother, a sometimes awestruck observer, and a man caught in the middle between duty and discovery. I hope to see you in future episodes as your relationship with both Matthew and Christ could develop. You were meant to be a part of The Chosen.
I love the scene where Gias tells Mathew to go home after he’s been roughed up and he admires Mathew for sticking to his job saying that Mathew must’ve had Roman blood it’s such a really father son scene with Mathew and Gias and shows just how similar circumstances those two have
I love the Chosen and the entire cast...what I see people missing is that it is the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT that is 1) bringing this cast and crew, producer, writer, directors and actors together 2) It is the anointing of Holy Spirit that makes it ALL work...ALL GLORY needs to be given to GOD and not the human beings(who are truly gifted and a blessing) who are making the Chosen SO impactful to the believer and non-believer... IT"S ALL ABOUT HIM> AMEN🙏
He is an outstanding actor! I love the interaction he has with Matthew. However, after seeing this interview I realize he is such a kind, loving person with lots of understanding and insight into people and social interaction. I hope he does more scenes in season 4! I would go to a film where he is the lead in a heartbeat. Love this man.
Today is July 23, 2023...2 years after this interview. I've watched THE CHOSEN since Day 1...my first reaction with Gaius was concern he was a bad guy but quickly, you see someone doing their job but has a hidden heart. NOW, I adore him...and even though we have a ways to go, his interaction with Simon especially telling him how to deal with his wife, touched me deeply. What a gift to be able to be an actor like he is...I watch some part of the Show almost every day and sometimes a few Shows because it has touched my soul.
Thank you for blessing us with your talent kirk.
God bless you Sir🙏
Loved the interview & love Gaius!! The complicated relationship that he has with Matthew is both intriguing & endearing. Can’t wait to see Season 2!! It’s like when I was little - waiting for Christmas. Love & prayers for you all! ❤️🙏❤️
I think he is drawn to his innocence and honesty.
I hope Gaius reconnects with Mathew in Sameria
I was very touched by the vulnerability and honesty during the interview. I too hope his character comes back for future episodes. I know there is a person in the bible with that name but wasn't sure if that is who is in the Chosen or if the name was a coincidence. I also get choked up rewatching episodes and I've watched it several times. I always see something different each time. I can't wait for new episodes and I already mourn the end of the show. I'm hoping for spinoffs!
@WillWonders NeverCease? Gaius was probably a common name in that time. You're right that it's a Biblical name. There were between two to four men by that name in the N.T. (it depends how you see the geographical data about them). Consult a good Bible dictionary or encyclopedia for more info.
I come from the future and he does appear in season 2
I loved this interview. It’s moving that kirk was moved to have been impacted by knowing Dallas & his wife. I’m so glad he can work on this project on this project, glad to be on this project & Dallas is accepting him, just as he is. Isn’t that w what Jesus did?
I love this segment... God is at work... Always. ❤️
The raw emotions from the actors are amazing I love seeing that & I can bet this show is bringing so many to the truth of our father & bringing others back to him. You can truly tell our father is moving through all these ppl & on set especially when they get emotional the Ruach is moving through them 🙏🙏
Wow if a particular character can convince u and make u feel he's real apart from the actor that's a great actor which is why I love him and really hope to see more of him ❤
I love the Gaius/Matthew relationship and now the developing Gaius/Simon relationship. I am guessing Dallas will keep him around and in the meantime I will be praying that Kirk joins the Kingdom very soon!
Love you Kirk. God loves you more. Great job with your character. Hope to see you back.
Thats _JESUS_ for you Kirk! Real Love, Kindness, and Mercy! :)
"Find the HUMANITY in each other!" Wow!! Profound! ❤❤
I love Gaius. Now I have to go find Kirk BR Woller on NCIS. (Another favorite show of mine.)
Wow, Kirk I really appreciate your candor, I sympathize with you, it's super hard for me to talk about myself, as I heard you speak I felt a sincere connection and I totally understand why your role is one of my moat favorite character in the show.
Today I keep hearing Kurt Woller talk about dropping to his knees in thanks and faith. I believe we are all grateful Jesus has made an impression on this man.
Gauis is amazing. The Chosen has been greatly blessed by your role and your interaction with Matthew.
You have an inate grace that supercedes your romanousness.
I hope we see you right until the series ends.
God bless you and your family.
☝️👏🕊🤍🕊🙏
Just when I yesterday thought that it would be so nice to have him (Kirk) interviewed. And this is not the first time this happens. 😁
Hi Kirk was living in the role and both mathew and Kirk well done
Incredible character and actor Woller absolutely nails it!
I love Gaius so much. He reminds me of one of the guys I work with so it further draws me to liking the character. It’s so cool
Kirk is a brilliant part of The Chosen cast and I can't wait to see what is in Gaius' future on the show.
A wonderful Kirk interview! He played Gaius well and a great actor. I like how Gaius grew fond of Matthew and their interaction with eachother was enjoyable.
My youngest son (25)got his BA in theatre & performing arts-and he too knew he wanted to be an actor in grade 3 as well. You can see it in their eyes. Never hold back. Go for it!
Loving me some Kurt!
All the way around . . . "Way to go!!!" First time watching. So worth watching!!! God bless you all!!!
God bless you Kirk! Gaius character is well executed. Keep up the good work!
One of the best series - the Roman with a warm heart and stilled face - every time I see Gaius I know nothing bad will happen to others
A loyal protector relationship with Matthew- a German Shepherd & a German Guard
He's such a great actor!
Love! Love, I loved all of these interviú!💕💖
The world could use a lengthy series like this…oh yes. Actually we all need you all..and I’m so glad he got you. Everyone seems to be right where they should be. It’s amazing….getting to know you all further is just “ meat”!! No bones about it😁
Wonderful interview with a wonderful man. I really enjoyed hearing his heart. Thank you for these conversations. It's so much fun getting to know the actors better. (Sad I'm so late finding these!)
Gias’ dialogue is some of my favorite to quote maybe Gias would struggle with his beliefs regarding Jesus and the Roman beliefs he was raised with maybe it could parallel Nicodemus’ struggle with his own beliefs and the beliefs of his people I would love to see a come to Jesus story with Gias God bless you Kirk I feel like a come to Jesus story would fit perfectly with Gias’ character
NOAH WAY TO GO!!! What an amazing story and an amazing start of a very worthy project!!!
I spent time in the military, as a hospital corpsman in the Navy. I can relate to Gaius as well as Matthew. I really hope that Gaius is the Centurion.
Gaius' character gives me the vibe that he is an older more experienced, sand-blasted career soldier, no home or family he can go home to, finding his way in a violent degrading job. Gaius will not be a Quintus, and appears to try and keep clear of Quintus. He's a complicated character. "He don' need no stinking helmet".
@Taylor Rowe interesting! They would have lots to talk about.
Love you Kirk!! You are an amazing person!!
You portrait of Gaius is awesome. You are doing an amazing job brother, I Hank you for doing this interview.🙏😇
I recommend this channel to all fans and yet more to more people.🙏🙏🙏
I think Matthew’s role seems not only OCD but maybe in the Autism spectrum. He plays the role wonderfully.
And is cute
Oh my goodness, watching this was time very well-spent. An exquisite interview, an uplifting and almost spiritual exchange between two genuine, humble, and authentic human beings. Thank you, Kirk! Thank you, Darren Scott and Against the Tide Media! From a hopelessly enamored The Chosen fan.
Thank you for this opportunity to hear Kirk and learn more about him as a man and as an actor. His portrayal of Gaius, along with the emotional connection between Gaius and Matthew that Kirk and Paras provide, are excellent. Kirk's transparency and honesty in this interview are refreshing in light of what we see from much of Hollywood ... but not surprisingly are in keeping with what the other actors on The Chosen have also shared in such interviews.
I found it surprising that Kirk is not a professing Christian. Even though I don't know him personally, I recognize through what I have seen of him, and heard from Dallas about him, an authentic reflection of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Without being a Christian and having the Holy Spirit indwell him, it seems that Kirk chooses to live out the fruit of the Spirit anyway. In him, and through his words,
I discern love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. These are the qualities that God the Holy Spirit develops within us (Galatians 5:22-23). As Christians, it is our choice to represent His fruit in our interactions with others. It is our choice to represent Christ Jesus in this world. Evidently, Kirk chooses to live that way, even without being a professing Christian. I can understand why Amanda would tell Kirk that he is more Christian/Christ-like than many others who profess to be.
The power, peace and guidance of the Holy Spirit in every aspect of The Chosen is evident to those who are followers of Jesus. Kirk, and each of The Chosen actors who have been interviewed for Chosen-related release, have spoken of the difference they feel on this set compared to other sets they have worked on in their careers. They speak of kindness, humility, personal and professional integrity, cheerfulness, camaraderie, the feeling of caring teamwork while working hard together for success of a project of integrity that is affecting the world for good. They find a peace pervading it all, even in the most challenging times on set.
Whether they recognize and proclaim it to be the power of God through the peace of the Holy Spirit, or not, that is the truth of why The Chosen set and people interactions are different from other sets. Dallas and Amanda (and multitudes of others) asked the heavenly Father to be sovereign in this project and place. Many of the writers, cast, crew, direction & production teams have humbly emptied themselves and asked Jesus to fill them with His attributes and power to perform their jobs in a way that lifts Him high, glorifies Him and draws others to His saving grace. God hears every prayer and He is faithful. He will do and has done that for those who have asked him to be overseer of every aspect of The Chosen. And THAT ... the fact that the very presence of the living and loving God is moving in and through those who trust Him and have made themselves available and open for Him to work through them, is the reason why this project is different in every way from projects developed through secular-minded writers, directors, cast and crew members.
Kirk mentioned that his belief of why The Chosen is so special is the result of choosing good people ... not just good actors who are skilled, but good people in personal character. That is true, and also the result of Dallas, Amanda and many of the production team having surrendered this project, as well as themselves and their choices, to God in His guidance and wisdom, and in their choice to follow His faithfulness to lead them in the right and best direction concerning it all.
It would be an honor to actually have a discussion with Kirk and hear more about him. In lieu of that being possible, I am thankful that Noah, Darren and Kirk gave generously to us of their time and their transparency in discussion, which made possible for us to have this opportunity. Great interview!!! Thank you all.
God bless you, Kirk!
There's nothing more moving than when men are vulnerable and unafraid to show their hearts. This show brings out the best in everyone involved, it seems. And wow, I totally thought Kirk was a believer based on his character (off screen). Stay blessed.
And yes Noah, you are a remarkable young man! Congratulations on your efforts and success. Wishing you all the best! ❤🙏
This was done on my birthday! Love Kirk and his character Gaius!!
Kirk, sir...you have added SO MUCH to The Chosen! Thank you so much!
Yes, we love to hear!
I loved this interview!!❤❤ Kirk is amazing as an actor and, now, we had a chance to know a bit of his personality. Authentic, respectful and thouthful. Thank you so much. Greetings from Brazil ❤❤
