If this 'game' intends to rival Star Citizen, then I guess we can expect this to go into beta by the end of next century then. Can't wait!
Considering they are still all promise and nothing else right now prob will be that long. Though looking them over it seems it's way odd to ask so much investment (even more than SC) in things that aren't even proven to be able to be done. As they have never made any games or anything other than just being Graphic Artist to make pretty pictures and videos.

I see it that way:
worst case scenario - they believed in SC being machine to sell promises and wanted one for themselves
best case scenario - they waited for feedback about SC, took what people like about it most and want to make simpler game but finish it in few years (especially including item rarities makes me believe in this scenario... I see possible budget feeling but fine playable game that will try to make money out of people using RNG)
@@D_Wito Yeah I think your worst case scenario is spot on. Except they can ignore the game part, if they want to, just focus 100% on driving a hype train.
Basically Star Citizen + Eve Online + Block Chain + NFT, from a team that's never made a game before, skeptically hopeful, realistically never expect to see this become real. I really hope I'm wrong.

Ambitious project, no gameplay/release date in sight, with a team with no real experience, built on a centralized token. I give em like a 5% chance to make it, but if they do it will moonshot.

So what we have 0 gameplay footage, some concept art and a cinematic, it is difficult to say what will become of this, could end up really good, but when I see the devs discussing tokenomics first without even minimal gameplay concept discussion I am skeptical, you know what differentiated Chris Roberts from this? He had sort of in engine gameplay footage and it was damn impressive for 2012 and with his 400mil funding and somewhat experienced team he is still nowhere close to finishing it
with how long it's taking Star Citizen this is just impossible.

Also said the they are just collecting money from idiots buying clothing and ships costing up to $35,000 fucking bucks. Plenty of idiots are buying them lmao. I wonder if any character designer, costume designer, has ever tried to wear a helmet that has all of the lighting pointed directly into your eyes and face. Why this keeps showing up just shows how little they understand about lighting. Have you ever watched an episode of COPS and wondered why they always point the flashlight in the suspects eyes instead of their own?
True, but on the other hand, can you imagine what the movie, animation, game experience would like if it was realistic and most of the time we could never see the characters face? Humans focus on faces more than anything else in life. The vast majority of movies are shots of peoples faces.
They might want lights on their faces so others can see who they are - for security purposes/positive ID, or for social purposes/nonverbal cues. but they'd need to shut those special-purpose lights off when they wanted to see anything else.
Especially that one creature with the nocturnal-size eyes. His (or her, whichever) visor ought to be black from the outside anyway, just to walk around in what everybody else considers "normal" lighting. Incidentally, with eyeballs that size, is there any room in that skull for brains?
In live action it’s so that we, the audience, can see and read the actors’ faces. Obviously in animation it’s unnecessary because animations don’t have to obey the laws of physics when it comes to lighting scenes, but the trope has become so common it’s what the general public expects of a space/diving/HazMat helmet.

it would be nice if the star atlas were an evolution of "no mansky", "Elite Dangerous" and "adrift" to not be focused only on greed to have a cool gameplay and a lor that can have fun when you are tired and also bring players that they don't want to focus on greed but on the game

For a split second I thought it was the newest Stargate Movie that is supposed to be animated.
What exactly dose the NFT for ships include?
Flight characteristics?
Mass?
Weapon loadouts?
Equipment load outside?
If these are included with the nft then how do you guys plan on balancing the game? As you make the game old ships my break when a new physics is added or when weapon damage is rebalanced. Making the ship worthless over night. Or others would become op monsters and the value goes sky high. But would be the direct result of you and not the market.
Do you leave your self open to legal issues in the future for market manipulation or because this is un regulated you don't have to worry about that?
Including nft into a game being designed without having the fundamental ground floor set in stone seam extremely risky.
Do you have restrictions on game devs and management on buying nft as the value could plumet from a game change they know is coming buy them up then fix the issue bringing the value back up.

Excellent trailer! In the world of video games there is a great lesson with a game that promised a lot and raised a lot of money to end up being a sketch of its trailer full of bugs and practically 10% playability. I think many of us hope that Star Atlas is not the Star Citizen of the blockchain!

The only real way for a game like this to succeed and never fail is for it to be partly up to the player bases actions in game to navigate the overall flow. Meaning little to no restriction but also greater consequence. We need to be able to establish our own cities and history over time. Houses too. Im not saying for it tbe 100% an empty sandbox space universe but just the abikity for players to establish that if they want in secluded areas that could even becime recogninezed by devs eventually. Mayve i dont make sense but it does to me

"promising" dude they have a store before any actual gameplay, plus they are multiple stock assets used in here. So in summary a game with a Crypto Economy is being built in an Engine that hasn't officially launched yet and nobody has any clue what the actual game is? If anything this seems like a promising scam.

As an idea this game is the most ambitious game ever created and you cannot help but feel excited.
Even without the blockchain and NFT component there are only a handful of games in all the history of gaming that come close to what Star Atlas wants to do.
In gaming we see far less ambitious projects with competent teams behind them underdeliver all the time, a good example of this is Cyberpunk 77 and that game does not even compare to what Star Atlas wishes to be.
I would love to live in the world where Star Atlas succeeds but it seems like a longshot.
I feel like star atlas is only able to exist because of the Blockchain and NFT tech. Very ambitious, yes, but the world can finally have something like this and this team has the right vision.
