I've been doin research on buildin my own but it seems you dang near have to be a tech genius to do so. I'm very good with building things at a small level so is it as complicated as it seems?
FYI, I bought a frame kit for this from BetaFPV and got a different canopy. I was gonna use it with a build, but it's insanely heavy! The frame is 22g and the canopy is 7.5g! So if the production version is anything like this, you can easily save ~15g of weight, which is quite a considerable margin. I used a DroneJunkie Sensi (7.3g) frame and a self-designed canopy (6g) instead I dunno if I got exactly the same FC, but the BetaFPV Toothpick AIO has both inverted and uninverted TX1, so you can directly connect an R-XSR without having to use the P pad on the board, you can just use the wires coming out of the plug Also, really love the BetaFPV canopy mounting holes - I absolutely hate mounting canopies to the top of the FC stack, as in a crash, the force tends to bend stack mounting bolts, so frames like this (And the DJ Sensi) which have BetaFPV style outer mounting holes are a big improvement IMHO
Beautiful air ballet! The attention to detail on this quad is excellent and the flight characteristics, including the time is near perfect. Definitely a must have for me. Cheers and stay safe.

yes not many people do it but I love flying line of sight and it also shows how the model sounds and looks, so its a win win for me. theres no hiding a bad tune when you can hear what the motors are doing so i like to expose that
Finally a company is building quality. The components and build quality are equal to what I build myself. Most prebuilt quads are deficient in at least one way. Whether it has a poor camera or junk vtx or crap receiver , or junk vtx antenna but this one uses premium components. The Ratel camera is incredible. Mine came with an xm+ receiver. I do get some video breakup on full throttle punches. Could it be voltage sag? Also, I wish they (Betafpv) mentioned it was configured props out. I found out the hard way. I was going to build a twig but I can't even get the parts as cheap. Oh and all the antennas are actually mounted correctly. It's incredible!
It’s a fantastic flier. Just move the antenna placement from the camera housing as they are held in with metal nuts. Hate to think what would happen if they fell off onto the FC when powered up.
Looks well thought out and assembly looks good quality .. For me, the 3 inch quad is the perfect solution to under 250g rules...Impressed by video reception too...shame you didn't push the range, the XM Plus is good for miles..🤔🤔😳😷😷
Looks really good Andy, and nice to see the sun, even for a bit !!As for BetaFPV, I vowed never to buy another product from them as I got 3 duds in a row. That was more than a year ago, and could be I was too hasty. This model has all I'm looking for in a really small branch. Stay safe, stay healthy, and cheers from Canada !!
Betafpv definitely makes some good ones. 👍 about to upgrade my HX100 to the hx115 frame and the betafpv 1204 motors and put FalcoX on it. Can’t wait till the parts arrive.
Thanks for the video. It’s nice to watch a good review of a quad I already own. I really like mine. When you say “freestyle” and “racing” rates, what do you mean-what changes did you make? Thank you.
hello! i just got this quad ... i can't figure out how to put it into bind mode so that it will bind to my BetaFPV Lite Radio 2 ... any clues or suggestions?
Your lucky you can go to a park to fly. Not in Australia you get a massive fine. Do you think 1204 motor is a better fit? I thinking of doing a diy with this frame with the tpu canopy. I have done a lot of 5 builds not micro one. 5 build you can have more weight tolerance because of the total weight. For a 3 inch like hx115 it is 70g, 7g is a lot. Appriciate your input thanks Andy!
Thanks for the review on this and others. Would you have this over the Geprc Skip 3 HD? Those two seem to be the ones to choose between in this category at the moment.
Hi Andy just a quick one is your twig still working ? On my 5th go with it plugged a pack in and boom bloody FC set on fire ! I don’t think the 12a board is right for 14XX motors seem a inferior product to me.

Hello Andy! Could you confim something for me? I bought a Twig XL frame from a EU store.. And when i measure the motor to motor distance (diagonaly from shaft to shaft) its 160mm.. Did they accidently send me a 4inch mutant instead of the twig xl? What is the diagonaal measurement of your model? Anyway great review as always brother🙏
