The dragon that Adam saw on the beach was actually Seasmoke which was Laenor's dragon before he "died"
Any time I'm tempted to feel sympathy for Aegon (and I have been) I remember the defenseless serving girl he forced himself on (not the first time he did that either) and how he regularly went to the child fighting pits for entertainment. And how apparently he knew that his own (heavily implied) bastard son was among those children fighting for their lives in the pits. And then I don't feel so tempted anymore. lol! As always, another great reaction!

Oh, I think Ser Criston is still in love with Rhaenyra deep down, which explains his extreme bitterness and vitriol towards her. That rejection scarred him for life.
If you keep watching after the credits, you'll see a 'behind the episode'.
That's how I found out that in the twins' fight, each twin got the exact same wounds... They wanted to make sure that NO ONE could figure out who was who!
I love the 'behind the episode', it explains some things that most people might not see or hear something from a scene or some other details that may be not obvious.
I very much suggest watching the after credits... It's not a hint for the next episode, like MARVEL, but it does give us info that might have been missed or just not as obvious as other scenes.

Remember when Otto says that Jaehaerys would do more for them dead than a thousand knights in battle? Aegon spits that line right back at him at 31:15. Aegon is stupid but I bet that line was with him all day.
37:58 Dareon is Alicent and Viserys's youngest son. He's Jace's age and I can't WAIT to see his dragon! It's so pretty from the description in the books and one of my favorites! Moondancer we have not seen yet. That was Seasmoke.

Daeron is Alicent's other son, the one at Oldtown.
I wish the other kingsguard could have spoken up in Arryk's defence also... but... that's their Lord Commander he's arguing with, right or wrong, he has to be wrong. It's a crime that they have a LC that unfit for the role but he still is in the role, they have no choice but to follow his orders unless superseded by the king.
Daemon also didn't find that Dragon he was with in the cave on Dragonstone, they were well aware that unclaimed dragons still call Dragonstone their home, he mentioned it when accounting for the dragons Team Black would have on its side. He simply went and said hello to it, he didn't claim it or anything like that, just getting it familiar with people again as that one has been rider-less for sometime being the bonded dragon to the king before Viserys I believe.
Thankfully Princess Diana wasn't strapped to the top of her casket. I know it's weird but that's what it reminded me of. The crowds crying and throwing flowers. The queens behind him like Diana's sons walking behind.

Yes, she is probably the one character that pretty much all viewers, regardless of which "team" they support, have a tender spot in their hearts for. One of the most tragic characters in the whole universe GRRM has created for these stories.
Daemon is going to Harrenhal, guys. He says where he's going in that scene where they're arguing. Daemon is loyal.

It's already been renewed for season 3, yay! And they're talking about having it go for 4 seasons, but that's probably gonna be about it.
Wasn't the plan to have it become something of a anthology show after that with other points of Targaryen history?
I also thought they mentioned Dance of the Dragons most likely consisting of 5 seasons, at least I remember George saying so as they mentioned it turning into an anthology thing after that.
@@HIPsteHeero I never heard that, but you very well could be right. Everything I've seen said it probably won't go past season 4, but it'd be cool if it did 😊👍
@@HIPsteHeero The original talk was for 3 seasons, but now they seem to have settled on four. The impression I get is that they want, as you noted, to have an anthology of various periods in Targaryen history under the "House of the Dragon" overall banner. I think the next one they're looking at is Aegon's Conquest.
@@bill.godwin-austen Then I guess the 5 seasons thing in my head comes from then maybe talking about how that would start from season 5 onwards then, which would make sense how that got a little confused in my head, lol.
I do personally think it would be a really good idea to do it that way however, there's a lot of stories to tell, and 'Hosue of the Dragon' is a very good banner to do it under, instead of having to make a whole new production for it in a way.
I'm finding myself losing track of who is related to who, how. LOL oh well it's still a wonderful show.

I loved that we got to see a softer side of Otto.
He actually misses Viserys and i think he even regrets betraying him.
I wouldn’t call it a softer side… just an emotional one. Otto was not set off by his great grandson being murdered in his bed, rather by things not going to plan.
It’s certainly cathartic to see him express a wider range of emotions, but I was kinda pissed at him for going off on Aegon when he literally had to be dragged to his coronation kicking and crying 😭 There’s no way he expected Aegon to be his puppet. I seriously adored Rhys Ifans’ performance and Otto as a character really stood out this episode, but I feel he was getting too much credit by some people 😅
I think Otto missed his role during Viserys' reign more, and how easily he could manipulate him

@@schlock159 That’s alright, I wouldn’t claim to know better than you do for certain. I just feel like Otto, while not feelingless, has always been concerned with power and control. His emotions spiraled out of control only when his grip on that was lost.
That said, he doesn’t lack affection. We see him display softer moments with Viserys and Alicent, and I believe they were somewhat sincere, even if he himself is a snake and would use anyone to better his family’s standing. The idea is that his heart never took precedence over his mind, even in episode 2 where he lost it, he did so only because his plans were going awry. What I mean to say is that it’s more complex with him than just full on loving Viserys. I believe he was fond of him, but he’d always choose himself first. Even before his children and grandchildren. He makes for an interesting character, for sure :)

Otto was so done with them all it was hilarious. With Daemon my opinion is that he’s genuinely hurt and angry as Nyra is now treating him like how her father Viserys did. Daemon has never wanted his brothers throne , he just wanted Viserys to make him is hand and have him by his side. Let’s be real he is a badass if he wanted the throne all he would have to do is draw his sword, but he never did what tells me he just wanted his family (Viserys) to be strong and feared like he is
The dragon 🐉 Adam saw was Seasmoke Leanors 🐉 The bond between dragon 🐉 and rider is not broken unless the rider is dead. Here Seasmoke is screaming and flying restlessly which indicates Leanor is finally dead 💀 and Rehnerya will acknowledge this when Seasmoke will take another rider possibly Adam
What Aegon did with the ratcatchers is so wrong on so many levels. It's not justifiable at all...and it was idiotic from a political standpoint. Otto was 100% correct.
Btw, I hate Ser Criston as much as anyone, but did you call him ugly? UGLY?? That dude is magnificent looking. In fact, I believe Fabien Frankel is a model, in addition to an actor (and a brilliant actor at that).
Edit: Just looked it up and could find nothing about him being a model, but damn, what a missed opportunity. He is finer than frog fur, whew 😍😛
Dragons are neither male nor female, as I understand it, but take on the sex needed at the time.
~Trin, yeah maybe, it's just when I rewatched season 1 they refered to Vhagar as a she, and Meleys aswell so yeah I don't know how much it's accurate to the books or if it's really that important :)
I don't see where all the hate for Ser Cole is coming from. He is being loyal to Alicent as he was to Ryneara. He is being asked to foresake his vows and being socially promoted to jobs that he is not qualified to do. These Royals use these smallfolk as they see fit. He is no different. He has already demonstrated that he is unhinged. He is just giving everybody what he thinks they want.
You can trust Daemon to be Daemon. She knew what he was when she went crying to him for help. She was willing to sacrifice her husband on the night of his wife's funeral. It's a bit late to be complaining.
