I love painting beaches. This is an amazing tutorial. So glad I found you today!
That's great. Well there are plenty of tutorials on beaches. The new ones are a bit slower and more step by step. Happy painting.
This is unreal. I thought it was a photo. Amazing painting.
Thank you very much. It’s all in the tones 🎨
This is fascinating. I'll probably watch it a dozen times before I put it on paper, but I feel I've already picked up so much!

Thank you for this tutorial. I painted this one and it turned out pretty good. You make it very easy for a beginner to understand what you are doing and why. Clouds are my nemesis still. One day I'll get them.
No worries. Funny enough I just uploaded an easy landscape tutorial today with a big cloud to teach people an easy hack to paint them. Here you go. Hope it helps. ua-cam.com/video/Zb5FBAM1-Mw/v-deo.html

GREAT...
Much appreciated 👍🏼
when i use burnt sienna, mine is a much darker brown instead of orangey like yours. What paints do you use? Thanks for all your tuitions, only been painting a few months and still learning tips and tricks. I have been having trouble with foam, this is really good.
No worries. Well that’s the best way to learn. I still watch tutorials all the time. I use a brand of paints called pebeo. They are great. Have lots of these pre mixed tones I use 👍🏼
🤩🇷🇴🙋♀️
Hello from London.
Hi There,
I'm really enjoying your helpful videos - its great to see different techniques used! Even more useful that you're also UK based so your recommendations are readily available.
This seems like a great start to try and improve my abysmal seascape skills... Can I plz ask what shade of purple we should be adding? I'm looking at your shade of purple which looks very light on my screen - I'm thinking that diozazine purple is too dark to use?
Thanks
no worries, the purple is called iris purple and its made by a company called pebeo. They have a side brand called decocreme. Which sounds very posh but they are pre mixed acrylics. About £5-6 in Hobbycraft UK. Just go online and you will find it. Dioxazine purple and a little pink and cobalt blue, plus a little white can make it.
Amazing work! You are such a good teacher. So impressed that I have to subscribe you.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Fantastic! 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
This was an amazing tutorial I love how easy you make it look. I am a beginner just starting out I love to do landscapes but this really helps me probably more than any other video I have watched.
Question what are you using to paint your camera's like a reddish colorBefore you paint on them.
Hi Ken. I am glad the tutorial was so helpful. The canvas I paint raw/burnt sienna. As if I am painting in acrylics. As they are water based. They can be quite thin and streaky. So by having a darker colour on my canvas. I can see where that colour is shining through. Where I need to thicken the paint and blend more. Generally, it just helps as I notice more than a white background. Where parts of my painting need more work. Hope that helps 👍
@@MSTEWARTPAINTINGS thank you sir
Great video, what color green are you using on the ocean?
Its blues and browns mixed together. So Cerulean blue, cobalt blue, dot of purple, white and raw/burnt umber/brown.
What kind of brush are u using at the beginning?
Thank you!!
No worries! glad you enjoyed it 👍🏼
How about a seascape with the sky on fire with reds
What type of brush is the big brush you use to block in the beginning? Is it natural hair, synthetic? Brand, type, size, etc.? Thank you
when doing an under painting , how do i chooce the color,
The under painting is the colours we use to create a transition. Not the burnt sienna I paint the canvas. You don’t have to do that. I just use a dark colour so I can use chalk and see where I’ve missed paint.
What type of canvas are you using? Will a white canvas give you the same effect?
Just a cotton stretched canvas. I’ve prepared and painted burnt sienna. You can paint on plain white canvas or paper if you prefer. I just use the burnt sienna as I always paint on canvas and it helps me work at a very fast rate. As I can see where I’ve missed and where needs more paint 🎨.
A great tutorial but I found the background music a distraction keep the videos coming
Thanks a lot. Yeah I’ve realised the music 🎶 can be annoying. So in all my latest tutorials I’ve picked more mellow music and have the volume a lot lower 👍🏼
Why is beach so dark? It looks like oil spill.
Just my personal preference but I find the music distracting.
Yeah, thanks for the feedback. Its when I was very new to youtube and was experimenting with editing lol. I listened to the feedback and I have lowered the music and put less funky tunes now in my newer tutorials.
Please turn the music off.
