  • How to paint a Sunset over the ocean for beginners and intermediate painters.
    In this acrylic painting tutorial ocean sunset video. I will teach you how to paint a sunset with acrylics step by step.
    The scene for the ocean sunset painting could be a view from a boat or a beautiful sunset beach. It makes a lovely scene and an easy acrylic painting tutorial sunset beach video that is easy to teach and hopefully easy to recreate your own ocean sunset painting at home.
    Hopefully the video will cover how to paint sunset clouds, how to paint ocean waves with acrylic paint in a super easy way using a flat headed brush. How to paint a sunset beach or how to paint a beach sunset.
    You can use canvas or paper for the acrylic painting tutorial sunset ocean but please have a hairdryer handy to dry your work in places. Acrylics dry very fast, but the hairdryer allows you to quickly dry your work in order to not make a mistake.
    By taking your time with each stage you will learn how to improve your realism but also how to paint a sunset acrylic painting.
    Please enjoy, and please be sure to let me know your thoughts in the comments below :)

      Hey Rinse. This was one of my earlier tutorials. Where the playback speed is a bit fast. Maybe watch one of the latest tutorials that are a lot longer in length. As they are painted at real time. They may be a bit easier to follow along at home. You can always Dm @mstewartpaintings on instagram and I can take a look to see if the painting can be improved.

      That’s great that you’re trying to overcome mistakes. Don’t beat yourself up. I have painted hundreds of paintings that go wrong. Even these tutorials that you don’t see here on UA-cam. It’s orange. Then I say you add some crimson. Crimson is a dark red like purple. If you imagine orange, crimson are hot 🥵 colours. So for sunlight 🌅. Where as purple and blue are cool 🥶 colours. So around the sun 🌞 we want warm colours such as orange then crimson. Then as it gets further from the heat a light of the sun we add cooler tones.

    • @MSTEWARTPAINTINGS

      Hi Talita. I am glad you found the tutorial so helpful. I have lots more more for beginners if your looking to learn. The reason I paint my canvas raw/burnt sienna. Is so I can see where I need to thicken the paint or rework areas more. As acrylics are water based. Sometimes they can be watery and thin. By having a dark colour underneath. I can see it shine through. But you don’t have to paint your canvas. If you find painting on white easier. Then by all means do that. Happy painting 👍

I'm just obsessed with sunsets - I already have several paintings with a sunset on the sea, on the lake and in the mountains, but I fell in love with your sunset again and I want to draw it (I'm a novice "artist"). And after your master class, I can even draw from a photo, because I understood everything! Thank you, I subscribed to your channel.

    HI, I must say I am so glad and enthused finding your tutorials. I am past the beginner stage however I always love learning from any level. You have broken down and simply explained the why's and reasons things work and don't work in painting. BRAVO how you communicate. I use oil but your principles are the same and have helped me from this one video tremendously. I have subscribed and can't wait to watch and learn from your amazingly simple but effective teachings. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge......Henry

      There are links in the video description. But they are called tear away paper pallets. So just ask in an art shop or off google.

    Why do you use burnt sienna in your canvas as background? How do you know what colour to use for the background colour to treat your canvas?

    • @MSTEWARTPAINTINGS
      @MSTEWARTPAINTINGS  2 роки тому +2

      I always use burnt sienna as its a dark colour. When painting lighter colours on top of it. It shows me where I have missed areas and where I might need to add more paint or a second layer of paint. You don't have to. But it's a handy painting trick. As if you have bits of your painting that are showing the burnt sienna you notice them straight away and can rework them. Unlike a white canvas where you might not notice it. But you can use any colour.
