This game reminds me of when I bought it alongside final fantasy tactics advance. I’d play disgaea for hours until it was bedtime then id hit the sack with my GBA and spend 2 hours or so playing FFTA. Good times.
I saw the reveal trailer in 02’-03’ bought it outright. I have never beaten it though. Some games are just special you feel it and Disgaea most definitely fit that description
Glad to see someone giving the original a go. Still have my PS2 copy and absolutely adore it. I mean, heck, I've made myself an Overlord, so I think you can guess the impact the franchise and NIS in general has had on me. Loved the video!
I remember getting into the series after I finished university. I enjoyed them but I could never get too far in any of them without hitting some kind of burnout. Sooner or later I found the grind to be repetitive, regardless of how much I enjoyed the characters and/or story. I will say I think I preferred Makai Kingdom a little more, especially when it had a "lower" level cap but again I never finished it.
It's a little difficulty not to talk at least a little bit about the story in a narrative heavy game like Disgaea. I try to keep spoilers to a minimum though. Most of what I talked about is from the first 15 minutes of the game, but in describing examples of the style of humor I did mention things like the Midboss character and the papparazzi plotline.
Enjoy this style of video relaxed calm and cool. Informative, could add more personal commentary too as your audience grows. Game on retro man

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Just started this game yesterday, so this review comes at the perfect time!
Great review! Though I never beat this, I especially enjoyed setting off a chain of geo markers to clear an item dungeon
Yeah, setting up those geo chains are really fun. On my 2nd loop I hit a 1000+ chain which was amazing to watch.

I definitely have to try out Makai Kingdom sometime.
Get to it, bub.

Thanks for another chill video mate
Glad you enjoyed the video.
I loved this game and absolutely mastered it on ps2. The voting part used to drive me nuts.
Yeah, the voting did get annoying after a while. I stopped trying at some point, so I never unlocked the best equipment at the shops.
Just got a sealed one for the ps2 🔥
Very good
Hey I haven't beat the game yet!!! I wish I could tell just one person to not spoil the story and it work for the rest of my life.
