My take on Brothership is that it feels like it plays things a bit too safe. It's like it fills all the "checkboxes" for a M&L game but it lacks some of the twists which made the previous games memorable (BiS had bowser, PiT had the babies etc.)

I don't think Kit fully understood what Krysta was trying to say. I fully agree with her, Luigi Logic is weird. The game gives you a puzzle and Luigi just goes and solves it himself with the click of a button. This doesn't feel like Mario and Luigi, it feels like Luigi is helping Mario out.
It honestly kind of feels like they went and made Luigi into a Paper Mario partner. It sounds like it should be good in concept, but considering that part of the appeal of the series for a lot of people *is* the "annoying" dynamic of controlling 2 halves of 1 whole, it just kinda makes things feel a little bit hollow. Overall I wouldn't say that Brothership really does anything "bad", but there are sooo many nitpicks I have with it. It's like the TotK of the the M&L franchise for me.
@@EmeraldMan25 totk is just as bad as botw the only issue is you have botw fatigue and can finally see the problems that were always present just more amplified.
Given the exploration that’s already present with the islands, I feel like I would have no sense of direction if the ship didn’t travel on pre-existing currents, so I was actually pleasantly surprised by the traversal system.
I think that the dialogue in between islands serves as a nice break and sort of mental buffer between the islands so that you feel ready to go to the next one. Some people might say it’s long and boring, but with the low attention spans that many of us have these days, the regular gameplay could start to feel tedious without it. The dialogue gives you a nice description of the purpose of going to the next island which further incentivizes you to play the game.
1:16:10 I never had that feeling that Pocket Pair was gonna be sued into oblivion and I thought the damages Nintendo was claiming would be inconsequential to Palworld... but wow, I definitely didn't expect it to be *that* low. Definitely just a protective measure, probably to set precedent, but such a low amount is pretty surprising.
One of my main issues with brothership is Luigi doesn’t start out his actions with B you have to press A and then B lol and the Luigi Logic is kiiiinda annoying only because I hate being stopped and brothership does it a lot (at least in the beginning I haven’t got past the first island)
I think the reason they tell you to meet Connie on the previous island is entirely story driven and actually not encouragement to further explore. She gives you some backstory about the lessons from her mentor which inform the overall meaning of the story.
Was anyone else surprised too hear, that they needed a guide to know where Connie was, after the cutscene I talked too the guy next to the pipe which Connie was just talking too, and told me I could find her on that flower island ?
Definitely. It's common Video Game Sense 101. If theres a cutscene where the important character is talking to an NPC, you go and talk to that NPC. Kit and Krysta's job is to essentially play A LOT of games during the year to talk about them on this channel so they can't be spending too much time on a single video game doing trivial task but at the same time.. The NPC was literally right there so it's like they weren't even trying. Krysta even called it bad game design. I call it, people just need to talk to NPCs more lol.
34:42 ....... You ..... You guys didn't need to look up where Connie was. There was literally an NPC next to the pipe on the ship that told you where Connie went if you talked to them....I'm pretty sure that there was 2 NPCs that told you where she went..... Do..... Do you guys not talk to NPCs ..... ?
Oh yeah totally. Pokémon players are infamous for that. I could never. I know talking to every NPC can be a little tedious at times and not worth it if the dialogue isn't interesting but it just goes against my gamer code. If I see an NPC, I just have to talk to them. If Brothership does one thing right it's that mostly every NPC will have new dialogue once something major has happened (to their respective island).
My main issue with M&L are loading times. Battle transitions in an RPG must be quick, and here they are very slow. Plus some enemies are so quick you can’t avoid them, dragging the pace down.
Here is my issue with Pokémon Pocket: There is no benefit to going first. You can’t attack, and worse, you can’t attach energy. I understand not being able to attack as this falls in line with other card battling games, but I feel like not being able to attach energy is an annoying hindrance.
i love snoutlet! and to be fair HE AINT A PIG kit! XD but seriously i havent really played much yet tbh cuz too many good games . but ill play a bit more. that ign score really killed my hype tbh
Yeah the Palworld lawsuit is almost certainly meant to force Pocket Pair to settle (I assume legal fees would amount to way more than the settlement) simply to make an example. I’ve seen some theories that it may be a reactionary measure after they partnered with Sony, which would also make sense. My main qualm is that the dates the patents were filed are well after Palworld came out… and the idea of more sinister companies being able to patent something after the fact and sue for it is not the best precedent to set.
The patent date thing isn't true. If you look at the dates the patents were filed, it was several years before Palworld's release (in preparation for Legends Arceus's release). What people were reporting as "the patents being filed in 2024" were people reporting a "Date of Last Update" as the "Date of Filing"; at best a failure to vet in order to try to have a scoop, but at worst a malicious attempt to spread misinformation.
@@Greekanese31The original patent was created after the reveal of Palworld, if I am not mistaken. Filing a patent as a reaction to a game reveal to eventually use it to sue them is still scummy. Now, it could be for Legends Arceus and it's just a coincidence, but suing over a game mechanics patent is also scummy in itself. So no matter how you slice it, not doing a copyright lawsuit and instead doing a patent lawsuit is not a good look.
Count me as the oddball here but 4-5 hours in a donkey Kong park screams epic. I love the games, characters and themes. I’ll be getting the DK wristband when it opens in Florida as I live not too far from the park.
About King K. Rool and the Kremlings at Universal, the park was planned years before he returned in SSBU. Instead, the park was planned when Returns and Tropical Freeze were newer-hence the park pulling heavily from those two games. Kit (and Krysta), I'm rather surprised by you brought up getting Phil Spencer's permission to feature King K. Rool at the park because Nintendo clearly owns the Kremlings full-stop. It's a flat-out misconception that Microsoft has anything with them. The Kremlings appeared in many games post-Rare buyout (even Mario Super Sluggers), and when King K. Rool was added to SSBU, there was zero Microsoft/Rare copyright (just like the other games featuring the Kremlings post-buyout). I figured two Nintendo employees would know that information (which I don't mean in a curt/rude way). Still, I suppose Nintendo hasn't outright used the Kremlings too much aside from brief appearances, so I understand the confusion around Nintendo's reluctance to use them for the past decade or so.
IGN is a massive news publication site not a single channel trying to grow. A review on that site coming from one person is equivalent to a review from a user on UA-cam. The difference is you know the people hired through IGN are verified journalists
Extremely unfeasible. Let's say you want four reviewers on each game, then they would have to quadruple their employee count to be able to operate like that (or, alternatively, they'd only be able to cover a fourth of the games they currently do). Also, publishers only send out one review code to each outlet, anyway.
I absolutely felt the same fear about Pokémon Pocket becoming very centralized around the three Genetic Apex EX cover cards, but now I've found some really underrated cards that I believe will come up and bring some variety to the decks you see online. Also, funny little thing: somebody put together a bunch of tournament data, and the top 3 decks are variations of Pikachu EX, so Kit's complaint has a lot of merit.
No Spoilers. I'm 35 hours into Brothership. What I can say is that I thought the game had an incredibly slow start. I consider the first 10 hours an extended tutorial prologue. Then the game picks up with its story plus fighting stronger enemies which made the combat way more fun. But then I got to an island in the third sea, not a spoiler by the way, the game tells you from the start that there are five seas. The pace just plummets. I won't say the name of the island but it was such a drag to play. Other than that, I'm having a good time with the game. I understand the general message that the story is trying to say with its deeper meaning that connecting with people is overall good for one's health and the world. Sounds to me this game's development started exactly when covid and quarantine became a first started happening.
@ Yeah. I might be exaggerating on the time just a tiny bit but in this game, the first island you go to is THE tutorial. That island takes about an hour-ish to finish. Then the first sea takes about 7-10 hours depending on how you play, exploring, going back and talking to NPC since their dialogue changes. So I would really define the first hour as the tutorial and then the first 10 hours as a whole as the prologue because the game opens up when you get to second sea.
(if you have not played this game I would not advise you to read my response. I don't want my opinions to influence those who are thinking of buying this game) yeah, i very much agree that the length of the first sea was really long, and could've been trimmed down by a lot. and it sucks because that could very much turn off people from continuing to play the rest of the game. I feel like after Rumbla, they could've approached the next two islands a bit differently, maybe just having you go to one of them to then have to go back to Rumbla. also, the combat options remain pretty limited for that 7-10 hour run, which does not leave a great first impression of what it has to offer. having to wait a lot of hours of the game's run time to get to the main appeal of the battle system was not a good thing imo, especially if you're a newcomer to the series. second sea is where it gradually picks up, but then the third sea's story just wasn't paced well at all (the combat hard carried this section of the game imo), which sucks because the next sea picks up so much it's crazy. I am enjoying this game a lot, though, and I hope it does well enough to justify another entry in the series.
I really like Brothership! The pacing is pretty bad in the third sea (the marriage subplot) but it really picks up after, and the combat is great throughout the whole game.
honestly i agree, things really do pick up after the marriage subplot, to the point where its inclusion felt kind of pointless. if they were to remove that whole section from the game i'd be fine with that
i should clarify that i don't hate the marriage subplot, I think the idea is pretty sweet actually, but imo it should not have taken as much time as it did to complete
Thank you for the wording. I'm not feeling it. I played one of the older Mario and Luigi games, and it's been a very long time since I've played anything in the series. So I wanted to give this one a try. I'm 11 hours in, and I just can't get into it. I have found it to be slow and tedious. I know I take game slower than most people do because I like to really invest time into the world and getting to know the characters. But during the time that I played, I didn't care much about the story or connecting the worlds. To give anyone reading this perspective, RPGs are typically not my cup of tea so I was trying this out even though that place style isn't typically for me. If you like RPGs, I bet it's fantastic.
I think this game is really good! But it’s not great when compared to previous games in the franchise and when you know the alpha dream problems. The concerns people have with the game (pacing, humor, etc.) have been problems in the past and are not bad in this game…just under cooked. The future of all Mario RPGs is really bright and it will be interesting to see what happens next!
Villian in particular is probably the most evident aspect of the weak writing. His running gag of misremembering names is pretty lame and he doesn't feel threatening in large part because they keep trying to push this joke. Really a step down from the Rogue's Gallery specific for the M&L series.
Collecting the Challenge badges helps augment gameplay and make it more difficult in a good way. To collect the last badge, not a spoiler you see this in the first portion of the game, to collect the last badge, you must defeat 300 enemies without gear or gloves. It makes the game more challenging and the consumption of mushrooms and syrup jars is important. The graphical style is awesome, the gameplay is fun. The story is boiler-plate child schlock (so far, about 9 hours in). Denizens of Mushroom Kingdom look great, the characters of Concordia are pretty bland. Background and especially the water is very pretty. Music is awesome. Twistee Island theme is fantastic. 7.5/10. 5 is way to harsh. The over tutorializing is for kids, the prime audience for this game.
Honestly completing the Challenges was really fun and kept me engaged even when the game felt slow in the beginning. The defeat 300 enemies with no gear challenge is actually what I started doing immediately when I first saw it. I think battle plugs are a great idea, I just think they should've given us a place/store to recharge them instead of just gear that speeds it up. Most of the characters seem bland (aside from the main ones), but at least it's a step towards more unique ones. The music I'm a little mixed on, but I think I overall like it. The overworld and boss themes are great, the normal battle theme feels lacking compared to previous versions, but it's still fine (apparently the new composer had never composed for an RPG before, so I'd say they did a very good job on their first attempt). Also, the tutorials I feel like never were "hand-holdy" since they always pop up in small text boxes that you can get through in a second or two. Overall, very good first attempt from the new company, I just think they need to improve in a few areas (Luigi's controls, writing, pacing, and some music). I'd probably give it a 7.5/10 as well (sorry for writing a lot btw)
@@Glitchyy07 didn’t know the music composer never made any music for an RPG before. Thanks for the info. Agreed on letting us recharge the battle plugs instead of waiting each turn for them to be charged. I overall love this game. Hope you have an awesome day.
I do think people have been a bit too harsh on the game. But I disagree with your last bit about the tutorials, because that’s a terrible excuse. Nintendo’s made plenty of other games in recent years where they’ve managed to consolidate their tutorials and NOT treat you like an imbecile child. Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, hell even the Thousand-Year Door remake didn’t go this far with the tutorials. They tell you how to play the game and explain everything they need to explain, but they also know when to shut up and give the player control again. This game has the habit of constantly breaking the flow of the gameplay to OVER-explain basic game mechanics. And it’s not just the tutorials. There are way too many needless cutscenes that serve no purpose. Can’t tell you how many times I said “what the hell was the point of this..? That bit could’ve definitely been cut.” Almost like they’re artificially padding out the game’s length. Furthermore, this was a problem that prior Mario & Luigi games had (especially on 3DS), which many complained about, and this game unfortunately learned nothing from the past.
@@PianistTanooki I wasn’t making an excuse. The over tutorializing is a fair criticism. It just feels like this game aims for a young audience (even by Nintendo standards). Mario and Luigi communicate in a way that resembles minions in a despicable me movie. The overly cute denizens of concordia. Very simplistic story. The game seems to be going after a younger audience than Thousand year door (my personal favorite paper Mario.) Going into this game with that mindset made me not dislike it as much. Agreed, other Nintendo games have done a far better job attracting gamers of all ages.
Palworld… I wish pocket pair were the plucky indie dev they claim they were, but they raked in literally 100’s of millions by skirting just inside the copyright lines to be Pokemon-adjacent yet not get sued on copyright. The ceo has famously said they paid lawyers beforehand to make sure the designs weren’t crossing the legal line. But of course they very much go against the spirit of artistic integrity, and now ironically the big bear is trying to get them on other technicalities. Live by the sword, Die by the sword.
It is nearly flawless, imo. I got used to hi Luigi is handled, although I understand why some don’t like his changes. Toggling between the Bro abilities in the over world with the right stick is a great difference from the other games in the series. The cutscenes work well for me. Most of the “handholding” is short or can be skipped. The pacing doesn’t bother me. I might be a bit more than half way through, idk for sure.. easy 9/10 I think. If not higher.
I always was under the impression, based on some interviews with former rare and retro staff that I’ve heard, that Nintendo DOES own the kremlings & K. Rool IP, but maybe that isn’t that case.
They DO own them. Nintendo owns everything Rare created for both Donkey Kong and Star Fox. Whoever says otherwise is talking out of their ass. Nintendo’s used Diddy Kong plenty of times after Rare was bought by Microsoft. Absolutely nothing stopping them from using Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong, or any of the Kremlings. If the Kremlings aren’t being used, it’s not because of any legal barriers preventing them. It’s simply Nintendo actively CHOOSING not to use them.
16:38 Giving it 5/10 IGN strategically puts down points for RPG-system that is full packed of similar games. like what if they'all really 5/10 which they're not. IGN need to further explain themselves.
Take2 doesn't need a diversified portfolio because they have been printing money with GTA Online for more than a decade, and that is very unlikely to stop anytime soon.
Yeah but that’s the problem. Beating the game means you’re investing a good 35-40 hours of your time. I agree, it DOES get a lot better, but it shouldn’t take 10-15 hours of gameplay to get fun; it should be fun from the start.
I’m looking forward to your thoughts on Mario & Luigi: Brothership. I’m several hours in so far and think it’s definitely a good game. Fun! And that Donkey Kong Country Direct? So cool!

Another great episode! I was curious if you guys had heard about the new platformer that is clearly inspired by donkey Kong and crash bandicoot-Nikoderiko: The Magical World? It’s available on Switch and PS5 and one that I might check out 😊
Personally, for games that are still left on the Wii U there's only two I want to come forward. Star Fox Zero reworked, like you said. Everybody I know says the game would have been really fun if the controls weren't bad. Second would be Nintendo Land. To this day I play this with my family, I love that game so much. Or even better, make a sequel that takes full advantage of the new console.
A DK park on its own would not hold that much interest for multiple hours for me personally despite loving the DKC games... but... this is just an expansion to Super Nintendo World... where imo... the pre-established section that came first... the Mario section, was pretty small (at least in Hollywood Universal) so this is a much needed expansion... but I would never just spend my entire time in just DK land in of itself
How did you like Super Nintendo World in Hollywood and also, the Mario Kart ride? Here’s to DKC eventually being added behind SNW (where the old studio currently is), but if not, Florida’s should be cool!
@@PaulGaleNetwork There's just not enough room in Universal Hollywood for the DKC expansion to Super Nintendo World, unfortunately. They already had to exclude the Yoshi dark ride from their version of SNW for lack of space; they had to wreck several soundstages and build new ones elsewhere just to make room for the relatively-small Mario Land they _did_ end up getting in Hollywood.
Logan is such a big Nintendo fan so when he gave brothership a 5 I took it off my list after he explains why. It does sound like my niece might like this one tho so I might get it for her for Xmas.
Mario RPG’s haven’t been quality since the Gamecube and NDS era. I have my feelings about IGN but Logan's review is pretty spot on. I suggest getting her Super Mario RPG or Paper Mario: TTYD remake instead.
I don't think I'd go that far, but the first 10-15 hours of it ARE pretty mid. Though I'll just tell you that if you're already that far, it doesn't take much longer for the game to pick up. It's the third act of the game where things get considerably more interesting. That being said, it shouldn't take 10-15 hours for a game to become interesting. It should be interesting from the start.
We need a donkey Kong 64 but for the next console. Donkey Kong (whatever it’s called) and they need to stop neglecting old characters for new characters. Sure they can have new characters but when Nintendo makes games they will remove familiar characters and add more without having BOTH included.
If you both didn't get to work at Nintendo Kit would be working for Sega and there would be a mystery every week of Sonic Statues/merch being vandalized Krysta would have become that lawyer, and have a sitcom based on her exploits... Krysta McBeal
I didn't trust the IGN review because I didn't believe they're credible... but after the first hour, I can see a possible scenario where this game is a 5/10 for me. I really hope the rest of the game picks up!
Hands down Nintendo would not be as succeessful with the Switch without Kit, he was responsible for Nintendo Direct working out, I think those played a huge role in the Switch hype, without the direct hyppe, the Switch would probably be half as popular.
16:20 I haven’t played it yet but I don’t really care for IGN reviews. I look for reviews from people who have a similar taste of games as I do. Harveststella reviewed horribly… but I low key really liked it. 😅
basically, dream team at least had a strong thematic hook to it imo to help pull you through some of the poorer beginning parts but brothership feels relatively safe and even watered down in certain areas to the point that I can't see it being easy to power through the slowness
Oof yeah, I have to agree that the game is not funny. The attempted humor is very different from the old games and a lot less charming. I dread finding the turnip dude.
My headcanon for the alternate universe where kit and krysta never worked for nintendo: Kit works at namco until he grows spiteful of his employer and successfully launders money from the company. When Namco finds out and sues him, he hires Krysta as a lawyer and countersues successfully. Krysta is too depressed from being a lawyer and nobody will hire Kit, so they use the winnings from the court case to start a podcast about videogames with a legal spin on the Krysta and Kit gaming and legal news podcast as their full time job.
Nintendo loves to infantilize their audience despite the main demographic of Switch being 18-34 (or 20-36?). Their games end up feeling somewhat bland and safe because of it.
I finished the game and it just kept dragging on. The bros attacks are drip fed and just are not fun to do after the 10th time. The level design was just too simple. Previous games had interesting level design where mario and luigi would split up or do something interesting. The plot was simple, but it is just a mario game, however the side characters were too boring to be given the attention they did get. 5/10 probably not buying the next mario and luigi
I'm halfway through Brothership and the IGN review is accurate and honest. This game is among the worst in the series. It doesn't hold a candle to The Thousand Year Door and Mario RPG remakes.

54:02 as a trumpet player back in middle and high school, I have to agree - absolutely living for this brass sound!
The gag of Shun always getting interrupted gets me every time
47:46 Luigi's "special abilities being awakened" is sort of explained later in the story… like 25-30 hours in.
Mario & Luigi Brothership is great and a welcoming comeback.
@@eddyortiz7674 you would be surprised at how many people just flat out refuse to.
Oh yeah totally. Pokémon players are infamous for that. I could never. I know talking to every NPC can be a little tedious at times and not worth it if the dialogue isn't interesting but it just goes against my gamer code. If I see an NPC, I just have to talk to them. If Brothership does one thing right it's that mostly every NPC will have new dialogue once something major has happened (to their respective island).
maybe it's a compulsion on my part but I'm the same, how am I gonna miss out on npc dialogue?! gotta talk to all of them
“Poor game design”?
Or lack of energy in talking to NPCs?
Yeah thats on kit and krysta, to me it was super obvious the npc even has a text bubble
33:57 Krysta - "You don't get any indication where she is"
Oh sis. They literally tell you tho 💀
i love snoutlet! and to be fair HE AINT A PIG kit!
"Robbing Peter to pay Palworld" 😂 Legit had me in stitches while walking along the street.
IGN needs to have a diverse panel of judges reviewing a game. To base a score from one reviewer is crazy to me.
That's what Metacritic is for.
Why would you care abour an average of review scores?@@BADGRAPHIX
@@JsYTA Some journalists have horrible opinions.
A big question is anyone getting a streetpass when they go to the Donkey Kong amusement?
I absolutely felt the same fear about Pokémon Pocket becoming very centralized around the three Genetic Apex EX cover cards, but now I've found some really underrated cards that I believe will come up and bring some variety to the decks you see online.
Also, funny little thing: somebody put together a bunch of tournament data, and the top 3 decks are variations of Pikachu EX, so Kit's complaint has a lot of merit.
Brothership really seems odd that you can’t control Luigi when in prior titles you can. That’s what holding me back at the moment. 😅
Nintendo also wants Palworld to stop being sold.
Thanks for all of your uploads. Feels great to listen to a show without being worried about an f bomb landing with the kids in the room.
A 10 hour tutorial is more than enough to make me stay away from a game...
I don't want my opinions to influence those who are thinking of buying this game)
yeah, i very much agree that the length of the first sea was really long, and could've been trimmed down by a lot. and it sucks because that could very much turn off people from continuing to play the rest of the game.
You're not exaggerating. It's 10-15 hours of game to slog through, then the game finally "starts"
IGN Spain gave the game a 90... so I guess that averages Logan's review to like a 70?
Great podcast episode!! Loved hearing more in-depth thoughts about the new Mario & Luigi game. Think I’ll hold off for a sale for now
I really like Brothership! The pacing is pretty bad in the third sea (the marriage subplot) but it really picks up after, and the combat is great throughout the whole game.
I'm on Heatfreeze (or whatever it's called) right now but I played Bulbfish the other night. I thought that entire island was such a drag.
honestly i agree, things really do pick up after the marriage subplot, to the point where its inclusion felt kind of pointless. if they were to remove that whole section from the game i'd be fine with that
I liked the marriage stuff but it definitely should’ve just been one of those limited time side-quests and not a part of the main story
I loved the whole marriage subplot, definitely a highlight of the game so far
i should clarify that i don't hate the marriage subplot, I think the idea is pretty sweet actually, but imo it should not have taken as much time as it did to complete
1:36:45 I love this idea for a Splatoon spin off, but personally I think a rhythm game makes more sense as a Splatoon spin off!
1:16:44 "We're robbing Peter to pay Paul-World" - the words of a man of reason, lmao.
@@svee7597 I love the game as a whole as well, have a good day too
I do think people have been a bit too harsh on the game.
OH. MY. GAWWWDDD!!
LOVVEEEEEE ❤
Kit’s pikachu rant was hilarious
Palworld… I wish pocket pair were the plucky indie dev they claim they were, but they raked in literally 100’s of millions by skirting just inside the copyright lines to be Pokemon-adjacent yet not get sued on copyright. The ceo has famously said they paid lawyers beforehand to make sure the designs weren’t crossing the legal line. But of course they very much go against the spirit of artistic integrity, and now ironically the big bear is trying to get them on other technicalities. Live by the sword, Die by the sword.
I agree, the game's only funny moments are Luigi being Luigi. It's nice that didn't change but the writig is very boring.
Game Award nominations are on Monday.
Take a shot for every time Krysta says "exactly" in the first minute.
There’s plenty of games that could be game of the year. Look at how many games people loved. I have a list that’s much longer than 6 games.
If not higher.
its never gonna be the same without alphadream
Pacing really isn’t a problem. The occasional fluctuating framerate is my only problem with the game. Might replay on Switch 2.
I wish Nintendo created a DK RPG game for Nintendo. I think it’s about time for them to
The best part of the game is the story, and you can't appreciate the story until seeing the ending. So beat the game to get the most out of it!
Yeah but that’s the problem. Beating the game means you’re investing a good 35-40 hours of your time.
I agree, it DOES get a lot better, but it shouldn’t take 10-15 hours of gameplay to get fun; it should be fun from the start.
Makes you think about Miyamoto's stance on story. Maybe he was a bit spoiled with good writers and needs to give the younger writers some TLC.
I’m looking forward to your thoughts on Mario & Luigi: Brothership. I’m several hours in so far and think it’s definitely a good game. Fun!
And that Donkey Kong Country Direct? So cool!
I got some inside scoop from a friend of mine who's been training to work on the food area. The Avocado Cheese is more cheesy than avocado soft of like the Mayo Ketchup combo. The chips is just a side back of chips lol I live here in Orlando, so tour? lol
Another great episode! I was curious if you guys had heard about the new platformer that is clearly inspired by donkey Kong and crash bandicoot-Nikoderiko: The Magical World? It’s available on Switch and PS5 and one that I might check out 😊
Thanks for the video guys! Fun one
Oh, I actually use Huel 😂 they are a lifesafer when I have 6 hour shifts with no lunch break
It will be interesting to see what happens in Hollywood, in the years to come.
Donkey Con? Krysta created a new DK villain.
Ten hours into M&LB, would give it a 5 too tbh. Probably not going to finish it.
Now I really want to play Mario&Luigi and at the same time I think I shouldn't.. heheh.. not that many titles can do that
We need a donkey Kong 64 but for the next console. Donkey Kong (whatever it’s called) and they need to stop neglecting old characters for new characters. Sure they can have new characters but when Nintendo makes games they will remove familiar characters and add more without having BOTH included.
1st hour of Lego Horizon Adventure video?
I want a Mario Metroidvania badly.
If you both didn't get to work at Nintendo
Kit would be working for Sega and there would be a mystery every week of Sonic Statues/merch being vandalized
Krysta would have become that lawyer, and have a sitcom based on her exploits... Krysta McBeal
I didn't trust the IGN review because I didn't believe they're credible... but after the first hour, I can see a possible scenario where this game is a 5/10 for me. I really hope the rest of the game picks up!
i want a mario and luigi game but you play as peach :)
Why would they dress Molly as Snoutlet if he isn’t even a pig???
Hands down Nintendo would not be as succeessful with the Switch without Kit, he was responsible for Nintendo Direct working out, I think those played a huge role in the Switch hype, without the direct hyppe, the Switch would probably be half as popular.
16:20 I haven’t played it yet but I don’t really care for IGN reviews. I look for reviews from people who have a similar taste of games as I do. Harveststella reviewed horribly… but I low key really liked it. 😅
I buildt my own Decks and they are a awesome and Not just by having ex cards.
Krysta just wait until you get to the Idle kids, your opinion on the characters will change.
I'll guess they didn't record together to not get into a fight
I wasn’t big on dream team, and from everything I’ve seen, this game has every flaw of that game but doubled to the extreme of them
basically, dream team at least had a strong thematic hook to it imo to help pull you through some of the poorer beginning parts but brothership feels relatively safe and even watered down in certain areas to the point that I can't see it being easy to power through the slowness
Hopefully one day we get a Pokemon addition to the universal parks. Pokemon go Brrrrrr 😂.
I would love to see y'all go to the DK addition in Orlando maybe y'all could do Disney World 😉 while in Orlando.
Oof yeah, I have to agree that the game is not funny. The attempted humor is very different from the old games and a lot less charming. I dread finding the turnip dude.
Has this Logan finished the game before putting on this 5/10 review? Because if he didn’t… his review means nothing to me.
I don't put any stock in IGN reviews, especially after Veilguard.
have you played veilguard? because it reviewed very well on other outlets besides ign.
@spacechannelg6843 Review outlets vs actual gamer reviews have been pretty different.
I don't think most people put stock in IGN.
Nintendo loves to infantilize their audience despite the main demographic of Switch being 18-34 (or 20-36?). Their games end up feeling somewhat bland and safe because of it.
If Brothership is a 5 then Scarlet/Violet is what?
Deserving of a good score. Have you played it?
Will all this controversy cause Nintendo to end the Mario and Luigi series?
The original developer team got shut down during COVID times
I am interested in getting Mario and Luigi brothership, but my fear is that it will be too grindy and repetitive
Frame rate sucks! so might play this on switch2 😊
If you want more strategy, just play Pokemon TCG Live.
