  • Hello, Making your own moulds is easier than you think. You can make a mould out of most things and then cast them to make great copies. In this video I show how to make a silicone mould using a plant pot so that you can cast with resin or cement.

    Please can you show us all how to make a silicone mould of a hollow 3D round Christmas bauble.
    So we can make clear resin Christmas hang baubles.

      Hi Christine, that is a difficult one, I can certainly look into how would be the best way to make one, it would be getting it out of the mould that I think would be difficult

      Me too, I keep the yogurt types to save buying mixing pots and the cats sweetie tubs, chocolate tray inners, I even saved 3 sheets of polystyrene!

    I totally loved this video and the step by step was very helpful, I've bought the stuff to make molds and now thanks to you i know how to make one, if your going to make any more molds please can you post how to cause it saves a hell of alot money. Thankyou for your help

    Wonderful mold!!! The little pot came out so nicely.... This video is really right on time, because I've been making my own molds recently. Mine don't always come out as well. I had a piece floated on the last one:( but I'll keep on!!

      My pleasure Dolly. Honestly, the more you make the better they get. I do have disasters as well. I made a mould a few months ago and couldn't work out why it didn't set up. I kept going back to it and it just wouldn't set. I had forgotten to put in the hardener LOL

      Thank you Mary. I just stick the leaf directly into the dirt and keep it watered. About 80% of them grow roots and become plants

    Can you share the approximate measurments and how much silicone you have used?
    I have 1 kg silicone waiting to do something with. I'm thinking about making a mold for toy boats for kids with resin with. But, not sure yet how to do that. Haha

      Thank you. I should have made a note of how much I used, I will in future. What I do know is the two mixing pots I used came to a totally of 2 pints. Hope that helps

I said toy boats. But sunglasses are also still in my mind. How cool would it be to make my own colorful sunglasses. Haha 😎

      @@SteveMcDonaldCrafting Thank you, I have one in the kitchen and another in my craftvan, but the one in the van is one of the old type with a bowl on top, not much use, both are plastic, I quite fancy getting a stainless steel one. I’ll go have a look on Amazon!

    I make styrofoam molds for concrete bonsai pots you get alot cleaner finish and I get styrofoam for free people never want it

      I poured in a silicone mix. The one I used is in the description. I mixed up a pint of the silicone
