I support your tutorials all the way. Do not pay attention to the people that get upset that you show us how to make DIYs. There are those that prefer to purchase them done and there are other (like myself) that rather do mine at home for myself. I'm a art enthusiast and enjoy making things for my family not for selling purposes. Please continue making videos you're not hurting anyone by doing so. People sell what they make for income and you make videos for income.
Who gets mad at diy tutorials?!?! What a weird thing to get stressed out about... 🤣🤷♀️ There’s nothing wrong with buying molds and I would never imagine getting upset at someone doing that… So it’s bizarre to hear that some people get upset that others like to make molds! I don’t want to sell the same looking/shaped items that the person next to me sells…which is why I make my own molds. Because you’re only limited by your imagination when you make them yourself. ❤️
Lol, I don't see a point in even having an opinion on DIYs if you prefer premade. That's like having an opinion on baking tutorials when you only eat out anyway.
Thank you so much. Buying molds can be so expensive, especially when you need several. You’ve saved us from wasting our hard earned money, especially if as a crafter who sells their creations at craft shows. Some of the entry fees can be high. Your idea, saves me money, that I can afford to pay my shows entry fee. You’re a genius!
You are a genius..I have a few boxes of silicon tubes that I used on my art, but never imagined I could also use then to make molds. You are the go to person for thinking outside the box...I love watching your show, you have taught me so much....huge respect from Australia.
I have only just found your channel and am really happy that I have. I live in New Zealand, my husband and I are pensioners, and I have to be careful about how much I spend on my crafts. My aim is to make a bit of extra money for special occasions and now I think that you have shown me how to do so without too much expense. Thank you so much ❤❤
Hi there, I’m just responding to your silicone molds. I can’t imagine why anyone would complain about you doing your videos for free when someone else is charging for those same tutorials. You can do whatever you like to. Who are they to tell you that you can’t. So crazy! Keep doing what you’re doing we thoroughly enjoy it and thank you for making a free tutorial. ❤️
This is just wonderful!!!! Now we can make molds of the things we like or need when we can't find the molds in our craft stores. Thank you and blessed artist's hands for sharing 😍 I want to try the one with cornstarch first. 💯💖🇹🇹
Please continue making this kind of videos! Don't listen to others saying you should stop, you have the right to make them, and we have the right to watch them. Thanks!
Excellent video! I really appreciate that you have the music just quietly in the background, it adds a nice atmosphere and does not take away from your narration. I also really REALLY like that you give us just the instructions, some great pointers and, some examples....and you do all of this in a clear, concise and non-condescending way. You are really great at giving instructions....thank you for your video!!!💜
Thank you! You are so very talented. I am so excited to use this. I was gifted a one of a kind chess set several years ago. In moving I lost one of the pawns. Now I have a way to make a mold of the piece and use the cold clay to replace my piece! Thank you for so generously teaching us these techniques. You are amazing!
Fantastic video!! Thank you so much for sharing this. I had so many molds in my Amazon cart, but they were quite expensive, I couldn't decide which to get. So, I ended up with none. You've made the process of making them at home so easy & affordable. I can't wait to get some silicone & start creating!
Oh my goodness this really works! I made a mold this afternoon and although it took about 8 hours for mine to cure fully, it worked beautifully. Creative Cat you are a genious woman. Thank you so much! I'm going to have a go at making your marble dust air dry clay next. ❤🌹❤
Thank you I love you tutorial. I live on a low budget so most mold are out of my price keep it up and those that get mad should be ashamed of themselves
Fabulous tutorial. It is so kind of you to put this video online, otherwise I would to have been able to try this. I haven’t worked since Covid 19 started and really need to find something cheap to do and could not afford to pay for tutorials. Kindest of thanks to you. Kim
Ooooh, thank you!!! I have just bought some silicone to make mushroom lamps with (from Creative Mom) and I was wondering how to use the leftover silicone. I also been wanting to get moulds, but they are so expensive.. This is amazing, and I will definitely try the cornstarch one. Using the strings and beads for borders is GENIUS!!! THANK YOU!!! 🖤
I cannot say thank you enough!!! I have the most beautiful bedroom bed, chest of drawers, and bed side tables. I live them so much but the drawer handles started breaking in half after living in storage for a couple of years. I tried so hard to figure out how to get/ order/ make or replace them. Closest I got was one place that offered to make a mold and and cast them for me. But they wanted $250 PER handle. I need 3 at this point. For that much I can buy a new chest of drawers and have a few left over when another broke. Obviously I couldn't, wouldn't, didn't do that! At least now I can make a mold of the handle! One step closer!!! Thank you!
These techniques are totally amazing! We can save a whole lot of money because some molds are quite expensive and with these techniques, we can make many molds for very little $! Oh my! The coin molds are incredible! All the molds are amazing! You are such a blessing to all crafters! Thank you so very, very much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏
This is awesome! I never knew you could make molds out of silicone. I’m making Christmas houses out of cardboard and I can’t wait to make silicone doors and windows and decor for them. Thank you so much. I’ll try the water one first.
The silicone caulk you buy from the home improvement section is toxic until fully cured. I wouldn’t recommend making it the way that is shown in this video.
You just keep right on teaching what ever you want to. The world is a big place and there is plenty of room for everyone. I watch you because you make my craft affordable.
I absolutely love this!!❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful expertise with us! I was at Michael’s the other day looking for molds and they are crazy expensive.😳 Those of us that work with clay appreciate this more than you could ever know. 🙏🏻☺️
Awesome information, a heartfelt thank you! I went to a store someone recommended n they hardly had anything!!! Well now I know how to make proper molds! Thank you so much!!! Have a great day. Much Love.
Some people said resin won't work in the second method, with the water and dish soap. I am trying these, right now. The possibilities are endless. Thank you so much, Kat, for your tutorials. I appreciate them. It is weird you just put this video out, I always look to your videos, when I want to make my own craft items.
This is fantastic!!! Molds are so expensive and I use them frequently, however I always seem to need or want something I simply don't have. NOW, I can make my own!!! This is brilliant and I will be making MANY in the near future. Thank you so much!!!
Please keep showing us how to do the molds as well as other projects. If other sellers do not like it it's to bad for them. You are so sweet to share and obviously care about your followers
My daughter sent me this video and I am so glad she did. This is a great method of making molds ! We will try both methods. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Thank you so much. Twenty some years I have been looking for a solution. I make lively soaps and have always wanted my own design to press on my soaps. Now I can make one myself. Thank you.
This is fantastic, I find the molds can be very expensive depending where you purchase. I can now create my own design molds. Thank you so much for sharing this 😊
You are fabulous. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!! Because you are so generous with your knowledge. It’s amazing the things you come up with and the fact that you share it with us makes it all the more special. You are a blessing. I’ve learned so much from you. Again, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!! Have a great year.
I just recently discovered your channel. You are a creative genius. This is by far the most fascinating, inspiring and informative channels on UA-cam. Thank you for what you do!
I'm going to try both and see which one I like the best. It's getting too expensive for me to keep buying stuff for my steampunk art. You make it so easy.
Thank you for showing two ways to make molds. As soon as I can get several tubes of silicone I will give these methods a try. I have about two dozen molds for making resin jewelry pieces. I want to be able to do clay pieces as well.
Great video. 👍🏻I've made both of these and the glycerin drops in the silicone as well. The glycerin one smells sooo bad and it takes a month of it sitting outside to tone that stink and fumes down. I like the cornstarch blend better too.
So are you saying it is the glycerine that takes a month to clear the smell or the silicone? The way you have structured your sentence I cannot tell, but it appears you are meaning the glycerine. But, Silicone does smell nasty but that should go by the time it dries. I am suspecting that the glycerine is actually preventing the drying and therefore the smell lingers longer. Glycerine is a moisture retaining chemical…they put it in things like hand and face cream and lipstick. It will be slowing down your process of drying. However, I use it for something different and there is no smell.
You are very creative, I would have never thought to make my own molds. I will try both methods. Thank you very much for sharing your talent with the world.
Your video is wonderful CC and your instructions are easy to follow. I love both of your methods of making silicone moulds, but I think I prefer the one with the cornstarch best. I have just begun my journey with resin, and I am thrilled to find your instruction video which will save me a lot of money, so thank you from my heart to yours. I love your work and your kindness giving us this valuable information. You are an Angel. God Bless you honey. xxx 😘💖🌻
Thank you for the great tutorial. I am going to try both methods and see which one I like better. I do resins ATM but am always branching out to try many things.
I am so happy I found your channel! Your tutorials are fantastic and so cost saving. I just watched the video on making your own molds using every day items such as thick paper, plastic and tin cans. I love this video as well and plan on making some silicon molds for my crafting. Thank you for creating and sharing your ideas. Have a blessed day.
Oh my!!!!! Thank you so very very very very much for sharing your knowledge, I REALLY do appreciate it, I want to refo my kitchen on an extremely tight budget, and found the moulds I want to buy very expensive, thank you again for sharing!!!!!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi, I am a newbie to your channel and I just love everything you do from making your own mould’s to making your own air dry clay. The bottles you decorated are gorgeous, I especially love the dragon eye. I love dragons anyway and I put it all down to being born in the year of the dragon. Thank you for the videos so I’m off to watch more of them. Keep safe and stay well.
Thank you for always showing each step making it so easy to follow! Your knowledge and honestly means so much when other crafters are trying to decide. You always give options and other solutions plus your honest opinion! You are a true blessing!🤩
Thank you for making this video. I like the idea of making my own mold and the other videos you have for silicon and glues too. It will save money and that's worth it in itself.
Excellent! What a wonderful way to save so much money and create your own molds. I can apply this method and fix some furniture, accent some walls and so much more. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful idea, many blessings to you.
You are by far THE MOST creative person I've ever seen ❤. Honestly, you're ability to make decor, molds, clay etc out out basic items found at home is just incredible. Both methods are super cool but it seems like while a bit more work the corn starch recipe is better. I'll definitely try this! Thank you so much for sharing
You are such a genius!!! I have watched MANY of your videos (subscribed of course!❤️) I swear you could make a livable dwelling out of your many types of DIY materials! Your mind must be a beautiful space of imagination to call your own, I would be Sooooo proud to be YOU! I think you are incredibly amazing. You are quite thorough with your information in tutorial, a good teacher and a brilliant artist. THANK YOU for being so gracious as to offer your viewers the gift of “how to” it is so exciting for me to dive into another form of art. I learned to paint pour in all its forms and styles, geode resin art, resin top coat, faux stained glass, and other mixed media type arts. I get bored with creating the same types of art after awhile (3 yrs of the above). Im ready to move into another art form. Clay is next for me and You are just the teacher I was looking for! ❤️ I also have a deep interest in foil metal embossing. God Bless all you wonderful UA-cam artists who are willing to TEACH the able but ignorant viewers. Note : ignorance is not stupidity, ignorance is lacking knowledge, information, or awareness of a particular thing. Stupid is as stupid does … lol read it again. Stupid is usually revealed in the form of a verb which quickly turns into an adjective! 😂 I am no longer totally ignorant to clay art, I am now much more ‘informed’ thanks to you! I’ve much more to learn, art is trial and error in the beginning! But seeking information from someone tried and true is a great place to start! Peace and happiness to you ~ “happiness comes in waves 🌊 “ Hmmm who might I have heard that from?!…. Yes you, beautiful Koi Art you created 😉❤️
There are hundreds of free lessons all over the internet. If people want to learn a specific skill,it is often easier to pay and get the information quicker and easier. For someone to rage on you for free information is ridiculous!!! Anyone who knows what to do will ALWAYS be able to find the info, so go for it! The artists who do good / great classes will always have followers who will pay for their classes, because they are good at what they do, and people value that. Do what your good at, and don't let anyone get to you!
Keep doing what you're doing! It's YOUR passion. Don't let others tell YOU what to do on YOUR channel!! There will always be someone or even several people who will try to intimidate you into doing what THEY want. Don't bow, stay true to you! Because we love what YOU do!!!
Wow…. Thank you, you’ve just saved me so much money! I had so many moulds in my Amazon basket that I wanted. And over the course of this year would probably have brought them. So glad I found your video! Thank you!🙏
Thank you so much for showing us how to make our own silicone molds I think it's awesome. keep sharing your great talent and thanks so much for sharing with everyone.
You keep doing what your doing!!! We appreciate you. That person was WRONG for saying anything to you. Dont let that type of person discourage your gift you have. People like that are just jealous of your talents. 🤗👍😊

Thank you. Very helpful.
Wow..amazing.Thank you
Didn't imagine it was so easy to make these moulds....really helpful and satisfying 💗
Yeah, it's super cheap. Not sure I like the texture of the molds, but it makes things very cost effective. I'm considering it...

To make the shapes easier to remove, it is good to grease them with a little oil or a greasy cream before putting them in silicone.
flavia pop: That's why she put the petroleum jelly on the dough.
I wondered about that when the leaf broke if she should put lotion or oil on the object prior to putting it in the silicon. Good to know.
Thin plaster of paris is a bit fragile and it's not really surprising it broke.
thank y so much for this video it will help me a lot i just begun to learn resin and it will save money if i can make mine

Can't imagine it was easier to make molder of our likes. I will surely try this procedure...tnx for sharing...
I'm going to try both and see which one I like the best. It's getting too expensive for me to keep buying stuff for my steampunk art. You make it so easy.
God bless you! You are so smart, congratulations. Be healthy and strong!!!!
Wow! I’m so impressed. Always thought the molds would be difficult to make. Thank you.
Omg ...
How simple and amazing... Such pretty outcomes .. cheap and affordable... Silicone lasts a long time to... 10,000 👍👍💕💕💕

I was looking for something just like this. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
Really impressive 👏👏
Thank you for sharing. I'm not buying anymore expensive molds and can now make one of a kind molds. Thanks
This is fantastic! It's just what I needed. Thank you so much.

I am no longer totally ignorant to clay art, I am now much more ‘informed’ thanks to you!
I’ve much more to learn, art is trial and error in the beginning! But seeking information from
someone tried and true is a great place to start! Peace and happiness to you ~ “happiness comes in waves 🌊 “
Hmmm who might I have heard that from?!…. Yes you, beautiful Koi Art you created 😉❤️
The cornstarch mix is safe and reassuring to use for moulds for icing fondants .
No it is NOT.....the siliconecaulk is NOT food safe slow bunny
The silicone has to say food safe silicone, don’t use regular silicone with food.
Thank you. What a great idea. I've hesitated in purchasing molds as they are expensive and I didn't want to be limited in my options.
Awesome tutorial :) How long does it take for silicone mold to dry? with corn stach and without pls?
I just loved it..you are amazing .. Thank you so much for sharing all knowledge.. Gratitude.
Wow! Thank you for sharing your process. Amazing. Saves so much expense.
Thank you so much for showing us, and don't worry what others say. They will still buyers for their molds anyway. I will have to try this.

I have been searching for specific molds and couldn't find them. Now I can make my own!! Thanks!!
Keep doing what you're doing! It's YOUR passion. Don't let others tell YOU what to do on YOUR channel!! There will always be someone or even several people who will try to intimidate you into doing what THEY want. Don't bow, stay true to you! Because we love what YOU do!!!
I totally agree with you. I see nothing wrong with sharing these ideas. You always get some people want to moan.
