I use to have a craft store in my home and sold and taught Pretty Punch Embroidery kits. The smaller the needle broadcloth is perfect to use. Iron on transfers are fabulous. I did a lot of punch embroidery many years ago. I used to make a lot of animals and combed out the yarn to make it look like hair. It's a really good way of just chilling.

I've been doing punch needling for a year or so now, I use my cricut to draw using the infusible pen on paper, then heat press onto my material, game changer!! 😊

How long should I let the pva glue take dry before I can paint it?

What you could do if you don’t want to glue the pages in & the inside cover pages were not that important to you is to go a slightly different route to Steve by taking the heavy card, cut out slightly bigger than Steve used here & create double the amount for each. For the spine I would take a piece of ribbon & glue it in between the two pieces like a sandwich. I would use three pieces of ribbon so that the piece on the left you use for the first third of the book, the middle the second third of the book & the last piece in the last third of the book. This could reduce any risk of damaging the pages at the top. As for the front & back covers, I would lay the cover page down on the first piece of card like Steve, but I would not glue it in. I would put glue around the the top, bottom a left side with glue to create a border , rest the cover on the board & place the second of board on top to create a pocket. Weigh it down. When fully dry, repeat for the back cover. Then decorate the inside of the covers how you would like. Doing it like this will mean you don’t have to glue the book into the cover. And creating pockets would give you a chance in the future from removing the book from the custom cover if it was accidentally damaged or you wanted to change it up. Creating the pocket with the cover already in situ would result in you not damaging the covers trying to fit them into the pockets.

Hi, I have been to Harry Potter World in the UK & they had the Goblet of Fire out. They made two one of which is carved from wood. It is tall & beautiful. The second one would spit out pieces of paper with the names on. If you get a chance to go there when they have the GoF out, you can take pieces of paper home one for each character, which would be cool to use on a project like this.

Add water to the powder. Some casting material can be waterery but dries hard in 30 minutes.

A fork works well for holding some nails.
