  • This is a short video of how to replace the front wheel bearings on a 1997 honda fourtrax 300. This is the same process you would use with pretty much any of the older model 4x4 hondas with front drum brakes. TRX300fw, 350, 400, 450, 500, 650, 680 #ad

    I have a question. I have a 99 TRX 300 2x4. Is there supposed to be a small space between the front axle nut and the bearings, or do I just need to tighten the axle nut down more ?

      I was thinking that the two-wheel drive model had a spacer between the bearing and the nut. If your spacer is installed yes the nut should be tight to it.

      @@FourwheelerDoctor there is a spacer in there. Someone had worked on it and didn't tighten the axle nut all the way down. But I was putting a new wheel hub on yesterday and I put the spacer on the rim o had taken off when some people came around, and one of them lost the spacer. I used a bearing brace or race (not sure what it is called) because it was about the same size as the spacer. I would buy new ones, but I can't find them online and I'm not sure what the exact name would be to look for. Thank you for you help. If you by chance know what I should be looking go purchase, please let me know.

      I'm assuming in front. And is it a two-wheel drive model or four wheel drive model?

    How do you get the axel nut off without the four wheeler tires spinning?

    • @FourwheelerDoctor
      @FourwheelerDoctor  Місяць тому

      On the 2 wheel drive model, the tire should not turn when loosening the axle nut.
