Definitely prefer the sound of the Bullitt, but they both sound great. I really appreciate all the Mustang content that you have given us this past year and all the years before.
Happy New Year to you and your family!

The 4.6 ( especially the 4V) sounds so good. Much better than the modern coyotes

Great video. I just put an IRS in my bullitt, and next step is to try and get the buillitt mufflers into the IRS exhaust... Actually, the Mach 1's tips were slightly different, polished vs. satin maybe I don't recall exactly. Also, MRT still sells the closest thing we can get to those tips new.

Interesting to know. None of my 4 Mach 1’s I’ve owned came with the stock exhaust.

@@justin.c_svt I'll double check tonight, I bought the Scott Hoag book from MRT a few years ago, and I think it was mentioned in there.

@@justin.c_svt Just got my book out (btw I highly recommend it if you haven't picked one up yet. It's not cheap, but worth every penny). Per Hoag, they tuned the Bullitt exhaust to be as close to the federal legal limit as possible: 85 decibels. ArvinMeritor manufactured the Bullitt mufflers. The Bullitt got brushed rolled tips, the Mach 1 got polished rolled tips. Both systems were stainless steel.

@@btverse Good to know. I noticed I do have both sets of tips. My yellow mach 1 has the stock tips with welded in magnaflow mufflers and I kept the stock bullitt catback when I removed it for the SLP catback and I still have it. The tips look the same but I could see that the mach 1's are slightly more polished. I did buy a book about the mach 1 and bullitt called Enthusiast + Engineer = excitement. That might not be the same book but it was written through interviewing Scott Hoag. I know they also made a newer updated version of the book but it might not be called the same name.

Good review. My brother, Dick Simpson, was at Ford NVH and the exhaust was one of his primary projects. He was VERY tuned into these car sounds.

I own #4149 In DHG. Loved the stock exhaust but wanted louder. I was able to salvage the stock exhaust from an 01 Cobra and add long tube titanium ceramic headers. Sounds amazing now!

I've actually never heard the stock Bullitt exhaust. When we bought ours in 2004, the stock cat back had already been replaced with some no name mufflers and dumps before the rear axle. I didn't realize that the stock Bullitt exhaust had different mufflers, I just assumed it was the tips only that made the difference. Thanks for sharing that little tidbit.

Hey Justin, the cars sound amazing stock and modified. I may be a tad biased for sure but they really do sound AMAZING! I’m putting Classic Chambers on my 2003 GT and long tubes really soon, can’t wait to hear the sound. Lastly, bro I personally appreciate the time u take out to keep content going for us mustang lovers, I look forward to the channel on the regular and have and continue to learn so much! They should have put a 302 or 351 pushrod in the bullitt to make it even more of a retro throwback. Would have been super cool to have a factory pushrod in a new edge

Just buy a 94/95 Mustang GT and bore out the block to a 347 and change the badges and put some American Racing Shelby Torque Thrust Wheels or some knock off Ford Racing Bullitt Wheels!😂

It's easy to forget how great the stock Bullitt exhaust actually sounds since you rarely hear your own car from outside. I'm glad I saved my OEM stuff. ..but I agree with you, definitely wanted it louder. Very happy with the Stingers.

It's kind of similar to the Pontiac Firebird trans am Is that the 1998 to 2000 Use a flat Exhaust tip And 2001 to 2002 they used a circle style Exhaust tip
