@@noox13 I'm waiting for part two. Bad Luck Charm is epic, but it felt kinda like RLR Part 1. It gives you a little bit about the character, but it's really basic, and more just there to be awesome in the background.
"Sacrifice" might be my favourite song from the entire RWBY soundtrack, period. And yes, it is in part because of all the interpratations this song might have. It could be interpreted as being sang from several characters' points of view and remain accurate, it reminds me so much of multiple events in the show. And it sounds badass.
Minor Spoiler: Sacrifice is one of my favorites and I listen to it a lot, to this day. I like to think it's from Raven to Ozpin. But that's just how I feel, maybe after she learns a little more about Raven later you guys can recap on this song and see if it makes more sense later.
yeah, ever since we learned more about raven in Vol. 5, it sounds more and more like it is about Raven and not Cinder. i remember that on a couple of videos for this song, after the Raven revelations came out and people started commenting that possibility; there was a guy that so triggered and was angrily responding to every comment insinuating the chance it was about cinder.
Eastwind4869 i think that raven makes more sense but i still think it’s cinder’s just because the melody of the song is played at one point in volume 5 as cinder and the squad approach the bandit camp, and it starts specifically as cinder is shown onscreen.
On All Our Days and the question of why it was on this soundtrack -- it's probably worth bringing up where the song appears, which is as an end song for chapter 3, A Minor Hiccup. in that episode Penny describes the relationship she has with her father, something Ruby relates to, hinting at her relationship with hers; the episode in contrast also for the first time hints at the distance between Weiss and her father, making father-daughter relationships even more of a relevant theme. So even though we haven''t met any parents yet in volume 2, for that episode, it was appropriate enough to introduce a song like that.
Alter Cruz Would you mind spacing this comment underneath a spoiler warning? Jordie reads the comments and I think they want it to be as blind as possible.
I think we will do something where we'll go back through some songs after Vol 5 and really go into it with theory crafting, analyzing and all that good stuff.
Hopefully. I love the emphasis and theme of the Moon in most RWBY songs and what it symbolizes. ''Gold'' song actually has the most interesting lyric about the Moon. ''If the stars all fall when there's no more light and the moon should crumble it will be alright.'' Moon crumbling away seems to be a BIG deal that sounds like a catastrophic event similar to saying that ''sky is falling'' or is used in a similar fashion. Although the songs aren't supposed to be taken quite literally: IF ''Gold'' is sung from Yang's point of view it means that the crumbling moon symbolizes something horrific to her. Perhaps there is a fairy tale or legend about it crumbling away? Probably something will happen when it does? I mean it has to be something terrible if the ''Stars falling'' and ''no more light'' is said before the ''moon should crumble''.to enhance the impact of the line. Monty once said that The Moon was important for the show. Kind of like Dust is. And we happen to know nothing about either of the things.
SuaatanaTube I always thought that, in the songs, the moon symbolized Summer Rose because it's always mentioned in conjunction with things that represent Ruby. The song Gold is Yang consoling Ruby after her mother's death and it says "if the moon should crumble" and "like the smell of a rose on a summer's day." Also in sacrifice it says "the moon will sadly watch the roses die in vain" which reminds me of Red Like Roses part 2 where Summer's part begs Ruby to not do what she did (whatever that may be) because she didn't want Ruby to die in vain. This is just a personal theory but it's what I got out of the songs. :)
River of Wind From Sacrifice, I got that the moon was someone who watched Summer Rose die in vain. Since it ties back to Red Like Roses Part 2, in which Summer is trying to tell Ruby to not do what she did and sacrifice her life in vain.
Joe Null That's an interesting way of looking at it. We both obviously interpreted it in different ways but unfortunately neither of us can really know for sure until we know more about the circumstances surrounding Summer's death and what Summer is afraid Ruby will do. I connected that line to Summer watching Ruby die because of the other things I mentioned seeming to imply Summer and the fact that sacrifice says "the moon WILL sadly watch the roses die" implying that the "roses" have not died yet. Of course you could argue "roses" refers to both Summer and Ruby since it's plural and the moon could be a separate entity that watches both of their deaths.
Jordie, if you go through the comments, keep the following in mind: The FNDM tends sometimes to express their opinions as facts. Many, MANY things in this show are open to interpretation, especially when it comes to the songs. So, we might be saying "This song is about [insert character here]." although it actually could relate to other people, as well. Just remember to keep an open mind, we tend to get sometimes a bit too impulsive about the show we love. ^^
I don't think it's from any character in particular. I think it's more of a generic parent-child type relationship song. It plays in vol 4 chapter 8 during a scene without Ruby, Yang or Tai for example
I didn't hear about the Jeff/Casey POV until now, I always were a follower of the theory that it's about Yang and Ruby. But yeah, both would make a lot of sense. More so than Tai in my opinion, since we haven't heard too much about him at this point of the show.
SPOILER: I love how it seems like to want to mentally prepare Jordie for vol 3 and beyond without giving away spoilers. But that is also why what Jordie said at 15:43 stings a little bit...oh man I am not ready to see her react to the end of vol 3.
Oh yes it will hurt! But it has to happen as well. I'd rather suffer with her than hearing them say they will stop doing these RWBY reaction video's because those video's are really good in my opinion! Also, thank you! Budgies are majestic creatures are they? I like that alcoholic grim reaper of yours as well!
I coudn't agree more; these reactions are low-key some of the best I've seen. Not too over the top, but not boring either. Just right. And thank you, I feel that a drunk reaper is pry going to be the closest I can get to a spirit animal. :p
I really love Dream Come True. I used to be pretty eh on it, but I really love it now. It's grown on me so much. Die, Caffeine, and Sacrifice are definitely the highlights for me on this one. I'm a big Boop fan as well.
Love when you do these, It gives me even more theories for the series. I can see how much you really want to talk about it but are keeping it underwraps. My favourite sound track changes each Volume, Volume 4 is my fave now. Cannot wait for Volume 3 reaction, my favourite season. :D
I always assumed All Our Days was about Ruby from Yang and no one will ever change my mind. Also Nora is the embodiment of over the top and hyperactive, Boop just makes sense. Also also, Boop is the song that Nora is listening to when Jaune goes to Ren for girl advice in Chapter 6.
MewDenise Would you mind spacing this comment underneath a spoiler warning? Jordie reads the comments and I think CaptKG wants it to be as blind as possible.
In the v1 soundtrack Jordie mentioned liking the darker, more eerie stuff. Now in Caffeine she likes Jeff's "raspy" voice... Boy is there a song in the v4 soundtrack.... Also, in All Our Days, "the peace you'd bring, *the songs we'd sing*” ...you gotta wonder if he ever really thought this was where they'd end up together.
Although IRL "All our Days" is about Jeff and Casey I feel its more of a Yang to Ruby song because Yang basically became Ruby's mother figure after Summer died.
I'm not sure what you can do about it, but how does Jordie watch the lyric videos? Because if she is simply watching on UA-cam normally there may be spoiler-y thumbnails in the recommended video list. If she's reading this, just be careful not to look until you're caught up, your reactions have been great so far and too much foreknowledge would dampen the experience. Keep having fun with it, we're looking forward to Volume 3 now!
She's not on UA-cam for any of our videos. We use a site to sync up our videos that doesn't show any of the UA-cam thumbnails for future or related videos
I wasn't sure if something like that existed, but it is good to hear. Also, I have to admit half the fun is watching YOUR reactions to her questions, keeping a straight face when she brings up something that will be important later. Good job on that, by the way. (I'm beginning to think all RWBY reactor-watchers are slightly sadistic. Ah well, nothing I can do about it, might as well keep watching.)
To me All our days ia almost certainly in the context of the show from Yang to Ruby. One reason is that normaly Casy sings from a female point of view. Two Yang took on a motherly role for her sister. Three for me the tale tale sing is the line you are my hero now.
Are you guys gonna listen to some of the instrumental tracks? Like Boop for example? Edit: This is what I get for commenting before the video is over, lol.
I don't know, I think that you could discuss Sacrifice more. I remember that I immediately understood who it was adressed to when I read the lyrics for the first time. I mean there is only one character in the show who is kinda above everyone else and look rather ominous sometimes. I really hope that one day Jordie will get it by herself but it's not the problem anyway.
I always feel Shine is terribly underrated. As optimistic a song as it is. You also get those hints of Darkness in Pyrrha's life. such as "Form the outside everything looked so bright, but nothing felt right to me" Or "I think you'll be the one to rescue me" Shine really talks A LOT about Pyrrha's character
Jordie, there is one hint towards a potential lie you have already seen. Ruby: "Save the world? But we're in a time of peace." Penny: "That's not what Mr. Ironwood Said."
Spoilers maybe... No, Volume 2 doesn't have one. Here are the ones that relate to Weiss and the Volume: Mirror Mirror - Volume 1 Mirror Mirror 2 - Volume 3 It's my Turn - Volume 3 This Life is Mine - Volume 4

Spoilers for Jordie Hey Capt (sorry if you mentioned your name at some point, I probably missed it, I hope you're cool if we go with Capt), you told us about your favourite or most impactful lines of Volumes 1 and 2, so I figured I'd take a guess for the following Volumes. For Volume 4 I'm gonna go on a limb and vote for Taiyangs Roast (You know which one I'm talking about), because the aftermath is just so telling of their family bond. Volume 5 is really hard for me to choose, because it had in my opinion so many impactful lines and character developments revealed through plot developments. If we include the character shorts, I'd pick Winters "I won't always be there to protect you." and Yangs "I've always got your back.", because that highlights how the outer circumstances can define similar sisterly loving relationships in very different ways. If we don't include the shorts, I'd say "Spite!", because that exchange really gives an indepth look into how Blake sees the world and people around her. I hope I got at least one right. But don't tell me yet, I don't want getting spoiled, I'll see it in the reaction. ^^
Doesn’t ruby look like she wants to murder you in time to say goodbye 😨 Also do you guys upload or try to upload on certain times or days, mainly the rwby videos.
6:18 Wow. Way to completely miss the point of the song, Jordie! Time to Say Goodbye isn't "encouraging" AT ALL! It's a warning! It's discouraging! How did you get that so wrong!?
There's really nothing special about the sound track here their just extra songs to most likely fill up the rwby soundtrack and yes they are all good but these song do have a real meaning to them.
I love how in Caffeine, Jeff and Casey's part is all about how badass they are and then Lamar just comes in and ask you what kind of coffee you want 😂
That's why I can never listen to Caffeine all the way through.
I really don't like Lamar's raps past I Burn.
hey how is atlas
If she likes Jeff's voice she is going to enjoy Bad Luck Charm in volume 4.
Toad Taylor
That's my favorite song.

Give Jordie some time...she'll be Booping.
"I think oh woah what am I to do?" (Oowoo)
That's always in my head now
Boop Boop Boop Boop Boooooooooop
Hands down. The most adorable shipping song ever and also the only reason I can remember the name of Nora's hammer.
Spolier Warning
Ah man, I feel like I'm gonna feel guilty and sad for Jordie when she sees the volume 3 finally :(
Alter Cruz

Jack The Reaper Rabbit Didn't know if she read the comments. Thanks for telling me

yeah no problem man.
Yeah... when all the dreams about Arkos go up in smoke... or, well, dust...
Are we bad people for getting others into RWBY? :-/

Can’t wait for them to listen to “I’m the One” (I think that’s what’s called) for volume 3!
The last truly happy upbeat song we've got
That said Dream Come True is my favorite this volume

I still think 4:16 is a for Ozpin. Ozpin trains Huntsmen to claim a victory.
I love to come back and listen to old songs and see what was foreshadowed like sacrifice in volume 5 and 6
44:48 Sorry, but you just described Nora.
Minus the... Break their legs part.
WOULDN'T CALL THIS A SPOILER BUT...
Sacrifice I would say is from Raven's pov since it was playing after the Raven end credit scene
MewDenise

Thanks man. I know In the reaction Capt was avoiding mentioning raven to Jordie since she doesn’t know much about her yet.
I completely agree with you on the POV. I think that becomes really clear with vol 5
Yeah until it was mentioned I didn't even think that, that song makes so much more sense now.
I settled on the song being from Raven's point of view, after Volume 3 ended. Realization came after breaking down the Volume 3 song "Divide".
"The true will be reveal by mirrored eyes" look raven and qrow symbol, this song is totally about raven talking to ozpin
My favorite reaction duo! You guys are the best, Notification squad
Yay, favorite intro song! I also love Weiss' interjection Pyrrha's second song ('Hey!'), and Sacrifice remains one of my favorite songs to date...
This is definitely one of my favorite soundtracks
I think Flint should have had a child Yang and baby Ruby for “All our days”
Although IRL "All our Days" is about Jeff and Casey I feel its more of a Yang to Ruby song because Yang basically became Ruby's mother figure after Summer died.

All our days also sorta works from Yang. about Ruby. giving further credence to her stance 'where ruby goes, I go'.
I think sacrifice is from raven to yang about oz
On to Volume 3. Cant wait.
(All our days)Did anyone hear this and think of yang singing this to baby ruby because I did and I love it
Are you guys gonna listen to some of the instrumental tracks? Like Boop for example?
Edit: This is what I get for commenting before the video is over, lol.

Jordie, there is one hint towards a potential lie you have already seen. Ruby: "Save the world? But we're in a time of peace." Penny: "That's not what Mr. Ironwood Said."
You guys should do a reaction to Caleb Hyles' version of Time to Say Goodbye. He has a lot of fun with it
That shine song that assumes to be from yangs perspective hits much harder after vol 6.......and this is a vol 2 song. jeez lol
Wait... there was no Weiss song in vol 2??
Mirror Mirror part 2 is Vol 3
Spoilers maybe...
No, Volume 2 doesn't have one. Here are the ones that relate to Weiss and the Volume:
Mirror Mirror - Volume 1
Mirror Mirror 2 - Volume 3
It's my Turn - Volume 3
This Life is Mine - Volume 4
Question: what is Jordie saying? Is she saying “Chameleon?” At 53:45 ?
Jordan Reason
Oooooohhhhh! Okay that makes a lot more sense then ;)
So the last song isn’t a villain song at all it’s directed at ozpin he uses kids trains them to fight the worst of the worst and they die but what for ? In my opinion, no opening to come will ever top volume 2's. But who knows maybe volume 6 will be better.
I agree. Vol 2 opening song is the best of the five.
Found this comment 2 years later. Looks like I predicted the future, Vol6 is my number 1 now.
Always loved them adding Weiss to Dream Come True.
Woooo! Been waiting for this all day!
the first two songs can also apply to all the young men and women we send to "war" to fight for "our way of life"
Would you perhaps do a Two-Part V3 Soundtrack - Reaction ?? or are you already done recorded?

After V3 Chaper 5 review ;) Song Sp oi le rs ->

Neon , F.N.K.I, Mirror mirror part II, qrow vs winter and Time to Say Goodbye (Acoustic)
We want to hear Jordie expert opinion on fight-music choreography .before.. .
sacrifice is raven branwens theme
I think all of the openings, except for 'When It Falls', are sung from Ruby's point of view. 'When It Falls would be from Cinder's point of view probably.
RubénGallar Don't think the first one is from Ruby's POV but it is about her
23:53 It seems Jodie broke down.
Her confusing herself reminded me so much of Gavin. Also the more I watch this the sadder I get:(
All of our days is from jeff to casey.. But its in the show because its from yang to ruby
can't wait for the season 3 reactions
Spoilers for Jordie
Hey Capt (sorry if you mentioned your name at some point, I probably missed it, I hope you're cool if we go with Capt), you told us about your favourite or most impactful lines of Volumes 1 and 2, so I figured I'd take a guess for the following Volumes. Just so that I can say "Called it!" afterwards if I'm correct. ^^
Volume 3 I'd think you'd pick Pyrrhas second "Do you believe in destiny?" because you can interpret that and Cinders response in so many different ways (My fav was "Leave her alone!" btw, because of the emotions and Lindsays Voice Acting was Spot On).
Boop is my favorite for sure
24:00 I ship them...
Doesn’t ruby look like she wants to murder you in time to say goodbye 😨
Also do you guys upload or try to upload on certain times or days, mainly the rwby videos.
its my 16th birthday today! Best birthday present ever!
Jordie, what’s your opinion of twilight or movies like it. If captkg is reading this, ask her for me.
Spoilers...
Oh poor Jordie. She will be heartbroken.
Also i think that Die is about Roman
I also thought it was Roman's song and his viewpoint about life in the Kingdoms.
Sacrifice feats more with volume 5
Spoiler Warning
I personally like the theory that Sacrifice is sung from Raven's perspective, sung to Summer as she's dying about her hatred of Ozpin.
All I care about is white rose and bumblebee, most other ships I don’t really care or know about
6:18 Wow. Way to completely miss the point of the song, Jordie! Time to Say Goodbye isn't "encouraging" AT ALL! It's a warning! It's discouraging! How did you get that so wrong!?
Hell I might.
Caffeine caffeine caffeine
It's so lit dude.
