This elegant model aircraft is equipped with a 5055-390KV brushless outrunner motor, 80A ESC, and scale 4-blade propeller. With the recommended 6S 4000-5000mAh lipo battery, the Spitfire MK.IXc has a level top speed of 125kph/75mph, with tall vertical power and 6-10 minutes of flight time depending on throttle management.
Delivering capable grass handling performance, the main landing gear use shock absorbing Oleo struts, a main wheel diameter of 85mm, and a tail wheel diameter of 45mm. Metal reinforcement plates, 5mm thick steel strut pins and axles, and metal trunions work together with the suspension struts and soft wheels to dampen the forces caused by operating this aircraft on rough runways.
The FlightLine RC 1600mm Spitfire Mk.IXc was optimized for sport scale performance, gentle handling, and an almost effortless flying experience, suitable for intermediate pilots and above. Importantly, a very predictable stall and power on recovery make the aircraft easy to control throughout all stages of flight. Day-Bright LEDs also aid in visibility of this large and beautiful foam electric model aircraft.

If that was Saturday I was the same - out with the dog down on the beach with my E-flite grasshopper and then off the cliffs with the PZ Bf 109. Beautiful weather for it :)
A really fantastic demonstration by Deano ! I could give the Crows around here a good wind with this, the duration is very impressive, I thought it would never come down, at the power setting this was at very impressive, I assume on a lower setting it would fly even longer.
thanks chris, we are using an optipower 6 cell 5000 mah 50c lipo and get 7 mins flying on various settings and have 35% left in the pack !
This is just a great video, everything was perfect. Great flying, a pleasure to watch and shout out to the person on the camera. Beautiful place to fly and a great time to fly. Hats off to everyone involved. I have the Flightline 1600mm, just doesn’t seem to fly as pretty. Could be the pilot, but it’s always 5 minutes of that “WOW” sensation. Might be the best plane Flightline ever produced.

@@tbobborap1 took the “Big Spit” and the 1200mm spitfire out yesterday. Very overcast, gusty kind of day. (I cheated, flew in AS3X all day) I don’t think I’m wrong in thinking the Spitfire is aerodynamically the best designed single engine fighter ever.
There’s a lot of good RC foam manufacturers out there these days, but if I could only pick one it would be Flightline. 1600mm P-38, Corsair, Spitfire and Tigercat are, so me, as good as it gets.

Very nice model, and nicely flown as well by Deano. Am I right in saying the oleo legs are on the wrong way round, as I always thought the angled bits should face backward?

Wow! Impeccable handling. (Having a great pilot helps...) I remember in the 1980s the RC magazines always tried to promote responsible, considerate flying, usually devoting half a page to M.A.P. Insurance and noise control for the kind of annoying, screaming two-strokes that went into [Gangster 63-sized] models like this. 'USE AN EFFECTIVE SILENCER!' was the plea. Yeah, right.
Decent electric flight simply wasn't possible back then - there were no proper motors and especially no batteries. I wonder what the magazine Editors would have said if you'd told them that in the future they'd be able to watch a guy put on a fantastic all-electric display like this!
