Yeah I watched black and white first. It was an ok anime experience. And besides the black and white games are pretty cool anyways. Sad it's a game better anime lesser, because I guess pokemon do games better.(and yes scarlet and violet are good regardless of bugs but at least Nintendo is trying to fix that) But either way black and white may be mediocre but at least it isn't trash it's just pretty basic. If I did have to complain about something, it would be N's arc because it was so much better in the games and in the anime is just lesser and lesser.

My favorite Ash would always be Alola and Sinnoh. I have a HUGE softspot for both series. Sinnoh was the main pokemon I watched growing up besides the original. Alola, I didn’t like how it looked when I first saw the poster for it. Now everyone in that series grew on me. Mallow even made me cry with her mother. I love that we get to see him actually acting his age for once! He's still 10, honestly there's a lot of theories behind that but still, he's 10. A child. Who for once is acting his actual age, goofing off and having fun with friends and pokemon, learning new things. Honestly he deserved that after having to deal with losing another league and then getting kidnapped and basically tortured with mega evolution energy and being forced to watch the world get destroyed while that happened. He needed a break desperately and he got it for once in Alola. I think that's why he was so chipper in Journeys, because he got a chance to mentally heal to his actual age aka 10.
Unova ash will always be number one for me cause when I was a kid, absolutely everyday before school, Pokemon black and white was on and I’d watch an episode before I go. Good memories like that make you lean towards something not many other people may have had a memory with.
His girl was still his even in Journeys seeing as her Contest Outfit had the same ribbon he gave her around her left ankle which in Japanese culture is a symbol that a girl is spoken for. On top of that, at the end of that same episode, we get a Great Gatsby Easter Egg at Lilycove Pier
Alola Ash was kinda similar to Leon .. Coz few weeks ago he's had three of the greatest fights of his life ( vs Sawyer, Alain and artificial zygarde ) and that he just wanted to relax and explore at the same time... My only complaint with XY is that Ash just didn't feel like Ash. It felt like it was pushing his cool/badass factor a bit too much. When Ash is generally pushed as a silly, goofy guy who loves the world and pokemon. It felt like they took him TOO seriously, if anything. I think ranking him second is still valid. But if I had to guess, that's likely why they took Sun and Moon in the direction they did. Between the art style and the fact that they embraced his goofiness. I found it poetic that that iteration was where he became a champ.
This is the time when he was the most Goofy and the most badass the two were often at a conflict throughout the series so some episodes would randomly be very serious and some would be very Goofy and while I do think this mixed very well at the same time I can see how one can be more overbearing than the other personally though x and y is the best series in Pokemon just falling down since

If we’re talking about ranking on teams and overall feats, this list is valid. If we’re ranking in design, sun and moon ash deserves a tier of it’s own for how trash it is.
If we are talking about feats then I'd say S&M ash is better then XY/XYZ. Also although I like S&M art style ashes design isn't the best, definitely a downgrade in design.
Something that I remember from X&Y was just the scene during the ice gym where Ash was in grief about his loss or smth. I don’t remember the full detail at all, but I just remember that scene feeling so different than something I’ve ever seen from the Pokémon series before

No one cares that much bout his outfit trust, and there's no connection that we feel to his team like his previous ones, they're just boring with like zero interesting backstories. While the pokemon are cool there's just no excitement about them as much as his previous teams.
I’m really hoping it becomes a tradition for future Pokémon anime protagonists to have an arc where they meet Ash, seeing as how he’s World Champion now and a huge deal. It’d be kind of like the running tradition of Super Sentai movies where the current team of heroes teams up with their direct predecessors.

XYZ is the best ash imo, dude what's a savage and a badass when it came to battling, he never looked worried no matter the challenge he had. Journeys should go 2-3. The rest should be ok👍🏼

Eh he was alright. His battle style didn’t feel like ash, unpredictable. He just felt like a normal battler. I’m not against your opinion but I will say I don’t agree. Journeys ash and Alola ash can destroy xy tho. Also tho xy may be better then journeys by a long margin, it doesn’t compare to Alola

According to me:-
1.) Original Ash ( no one can take his place or beat him)
2.) Journeys Ash (goofy, cute, strongest, plus mature as he took care of goh the whole generation 8)
3.) Sun and Moon Ash (goofy, sweet, beginning to become strong and became strongest so respect)
4.) XYZ Ash (I think most handsome Ash, a little goofy as always, mature, a little strong, inspiration to others, careful for everyone, and I think best shown like mc/hero)
5.) Diamond and Pearl Ash (second best Ash, goofy, mature, a little strong, best story writing as it involves gods and nice villians, very much like original as he make fun of dawn a little, rival with Paul like Gary, nice artstyle)
6. Advance generation Ash (not a big fan but goofy, good like always)
7.) Black and white Ash (irritating but good as always)
I love the original most because he is goofy, savage, trying to be strong, believing, funny, cute and real (what Ash Ketchum really is) plus i love the artstyle so much best artstyle according to me and I've grown up watching original because it is what was always used to sir in India, I'm 18 now and I've watched everyother generation during pandemic when I was 17 but in English because it's fabulous dub though Hindi dub feels close❤❤❤.

My only complaint with XY is that Ash just didn't feel like Ash. It felt like it was pushing his cool/badass factor a bit too much. When Ash is generally pushed as a silly, goofy guy who loves the world and pokemon. It felt like they took him TOO seriously, if anything. I think ranking him second is still valid. But if I had to guess, that's likely why they took Sun and Moon in the direction they did. Between the art style and the fact that they embraced his goofiness. I found it poetic that that iteration was where he became a champ.
This is the time when he was the most Goofy and the most badass the two were often at a conflict throughout the series so some episodes would randomly be very serious and some would be very Goofy and while I do think this mixed very well at the same time I can see how one can be more overbearing than the other personally though x and y is the best series in Pokemon just falling down since

If we’re talking about ranking on teams and overall feats, this list is valid. If we’re ranking in design, sun and moon ash deserves a tier of it’s own for how trash it is.
If we are talking about feats then I'd say S&M ash is better then XY/XYZ. Also although I like S&M art style ashes design isn't the best, definitely a downgrade in design.

@@Mashu460 The whole series was just not as fun and adventurous and Ash was basically just a side character. No one cares that much bout his outfit trust, and there's no connection that we feel to his team like his previous ones, they're just boring with like zero interesting backstories. While the pokemon are cool there's just no excitement about them as much as his previous teams.
