Yes, I agree! Primarina is so underrated! Imo Primarina deserved more interest in the anime. It got decent attention but it deserves more! And Ngl Primarina's design is EPIC! Before you say, *Primarina is too feminine* yes i know, but its design is way too good... I believe its the only mermaid pokemon there is... (Walrein is a seal 🦭) And in battle... Its just Amazing!!! In the Anime, Lana's Primarina won against Melow's Tsareena... Grass is super effective against water but Primarina still managed to win.... I like the signature move sparkling aria and i LOVE that primarina sings when it uses the OP z-move ocianic operetta And sparking aria... primarina is my fav starter 100% i know a lot of people like Greninja more but ye! Last thing, primarina's type combo is amazing..! Thats all!❤ Thx for reading! ❤ #supportprimarina*
Primarina gets plenty of love from Pokémon Go Battle League players. I don’t personally run it but I’ve had to counter that thing so many times. It’s probably one of the most common water types used along with Swampert and Kyogre in Pokémon Go Battle League.
Didn't watch the anime since season 1 and 2. Primarina is one of my favorite water starters. The 1st two evos are meh, but that final form and typing combo are too good to pass up. Now, for me it's Mudkip and Totodile at the top, but Primarina is alongside Greninja, Hisui Samurott and Empolion as my other favs. I made sure to grab Poplio in the Violet dlc just to play around with her typing. Without a doubt one of the best water starters
I believe that Chespin line is based on a hedgehog, not a chipmunk. I personally think that Greninja is overrated. I don't really care for its base forms and the boils on its body gross me out a little. As for my favorite, I have to say it's Meowscarada. I love cats and I think it's concept of a stage magician is really cool. All in all, I think my favorite trio is probably Blaziken, Sceptile, and Swampert, since they are all really solid in all stages design wise and still are great in battle.
Oof. Putting the unova starters dead last hurts but I understand your point. I never liked emboar and samurott until I used emboar in a playthrough because I heard it was good and it was. Design-wise I wished they made it look like more of a warrior and less like a pig. Kind of similar to what they did with greninja because greninja’s appearance diverges from it’s previous two forms, looking less frog and more ninja. Snivy on the other hand, was the first unova starter I used and I love snivy’s whole evolution line so much. The snide attitude that snivy has is so adorable. I disagree with the video about servine because it’s one of my favorite middle stage starters. I like it just about as much as I like serperior. Speaking of which, I have always loved dragons and despite being a snake and not a dragon, it kinda reminded me of the dragons from spirited away or dragon ball. I loved having a green serpentine dragon as a starter. Samurott I just thought didn’t look that good, partly because I didn’t really like the idea of it being a samurai because it felt gimmicky. I think Dewott was by far the best in that whole line. It’s the perfect mixture of cute and awesome, especially the unique shade of blue that it has.
hi there !! my name is fritz and my favorite starter, and favorite pokemon ever, is emboar! i dunno why, i just think he's very cuddly and gives the best hugs. i love big pokemon like that and emboar just so happens to have became my favorite! :D
my personal ranking. 9th place: JOHTO starters. (the middle stages look better than the final forms, excluding the alligator) 8th place. kanto starters: (nostalgia the only thing saving these mons and charizard ig) 7th place: KALOS starters( greninja carrying this trio on its back , lets be for real) 6th place GALAR starters ( i hated cinderaces arms, its lost its coolness from its middle stage, rilaboom is fine, the drum is kinda distracting tho. intelleon is fine as well, it proportions seem kinda odd tho) 5th place UNOVA starters( honestly the most overhated starters). 4th place PALDEA starters. ( i wish they crocodiles fire look different, the ducks feet looks, like sausage, meowscarada is cool , wish the mask was smaller tho). 3rd place ALOLA 2nd SINNOH 1st HOENN
@shinken6636 this. unovaborts became the very thing they swore to destroy. they are worse than genwunners. also, everybody agrees that the unova starter trio is the worst.
@@lmaolol7702you both sound so intolerant. If some people don’t like the newer starters it’s just their opinion. You sound too defensive about the new games. There’s a lot that can be criticized about the new games and it’s kinda delusional not to realize it
@@Gilbert_Dice_Gottfried incredible. unovaborts actually think people who hate them are nugenners and not oldgenners. unovaborts have literally become the new genwunners.
I honestly think the Sinnoh starters are the best. In terms of theming they are what every starter pair after them were trying to achieve and in terms of animals, penguins and monkeys are animals that are exotic and can easily be portrayed as either cute or cool and they nailed both, and I’m just biased towards turtles in general and I’m not the only one. When I first saw these guys it was the hardest choice of any of the starters I had ever made and that still holds true to this day because they’re all just so wonderful and perfect, and that’s not nostalgia talking from me as my favorite (and first ever) Pokémon is Squirtle and I’m a loser who owns Platinum but still hasn’t beat it. You pointed out Prinplup as the weak link among them and while I can agree I don’t think it drags them down as muchas you seem to. An overall amazing trio. I can’t wait for a starter trio who can rival them in the future! (A king can dream, can’t he?)
I like using Serperior for its hidden ability. Contrary with Leaf Storm is OP. I got over 2000 winning streak in USUM Battle Tree using that thing and counting.
Galar is far and away the worst. It's the only gen where I dump the starter. Only Hisui gave me as much trouble when picking a starter, but because they were all 3 too good. Went with that epic fire/ghost typing. Hisui I couldn't pick because they were too good, Galar I couldn't pick because they were so bad. Still don't like them. Still don't use them. If they had secondary typings, it could have saved them, but the mono typing ultimately sealed their fates as the worst starter trio
Just straight up solid but kanto starters is just my favorite i started in the anime and then i don't even know that theres a game in pokemon anime my friend told me to play it because he said its good but yeah hes not lying it's pretty good
My opinions: 9: Johto Chikorita is actually terrible and Totodile is alright. However, I love Cyndaquil. 8: Paldea Quaxly has terrible later evolutions, Fuecoco is alright and Sprigatito is amazing. 7. Unova Snivy line is one of my favourites and Oshawott is great (besides Samurott) but Tepig is hot garbage. 6. Sinnoh No complaints with Piplup and Turtwig, but not the biggest Chimchar fan. 5. Kanto They all have good designs but none of them stand out. 4. Galar Sobble and Scorbunny line are pretty good, Grookey line is alright. 3. Kalos Froakie is one of the most iconic designs and Fennekin is great. Chespin had potential but was ruined by the later two evolutions. 2. Alola Every evolution looks great, the middle evolutions aren't awkward at all and have a lot of personality. They have unique types and I love all 3. 1. Hoenn This slightly edges out Alola because Swampert, Blaziken, and Sceptile are all iconic and the only "bad" design here is Marshtomp
Meganium, dewott and chespin are my favourites, no idea why but i just love them all 😅 I know meganium isnt great battle wise but i just adore its design, dewott is just great and chespins so goofy i adore it 😂
Gen 8 is so awful. The only gen I dump the starter. Cinderace is without a doubt the worst fire type design. It's just a soccer player. Soccer is lame. Rabbits are lame. Combined they are super lame lol
I really love Skeledirge's design and that it's a step in a different direction from anthropomorphic final forms and the fire/fighting dual type (Also I'm low-key biased with Ghost pokemon)
I love the typing, but his design is too bland. The face is amazing and the songbird on his nose is cute, but the rest is really bland. They needed something else to cut through all that red and white and I believe they should have continued the mosaic design from his face. (That's me with dragon lmao. I favor that type over all others.)
@@AnonDudeBro I don't think Charizard is getting any new forms now, since it was confirmed that pokemon takes ideas from the community and no one wants more Charizard forms
My list: 9- Paldea 8- Alola 7- Galar 6- Unova 5- Johto 4-Kalos 3-Sinnoh 2- Kanto 1- Hoen I think last gen are trying to create different pokemon in general to be in another side that when they started. With the starters, they wanna do something different but the nostalgia factor will always be in the middle of this. Being realistic they’re a couple of new starters better than the old ones, but it stills doesn’t feel like enough. Personally, Jhoto in my opinion is one of the regions with worst starters. But is in 5th place in my list because for the other ones I have just a few good words to say. Plus Typhlosion (before 3D) it’s one of my favorite sprites and pokemon in general. We all know Hoenn is the region that you can’t go wrong, it was obviously in first place
As someone who’s first game was Pokemon White, tepig/Emboar is my favorite starter, but I also feel like as a set the gen 3 starters are the best set of starters.
As a Unova lover it hurts me to see Emboar being hated that much. Emboar is together with Infernape my most favorite starter of all time while Blaziken is my most hated starter of all time. Yes. I really don't like the first Fire/Fighting starter while I love the other 2 (mainly because they both solo every fight).
Emboar is the only one I kinda like. I hated the snivy line from go and I will forever hate samurott for ruining oshawatt and dewott for me. Especially dewott as that is in the running for my favorite middle stage starter.
Kanto is easily number 1 for me, it doesn't get any more iconic than the original 3. Charmander is my personal favorite of the Kanto starters, but I genuinely feel like you can't go wrong with any of them. Even my least favorite, Bulbasaur, is really cool, and would probably be my favorite if he were the grass starter in other gens. And I agree with putting Unova last and Galar next to last. Those starter trios just didn't really do it for me.
That's because it's the worst gen. I dump the starter and it's the only gen I have ever done that on. Terrible designs and the mono typing kills it for me
Rillaboom is only any good because of grassy terrain, Cinderace is only good because it can court change on Gholdengo, and in all my hours on nat dex over never seen a inteleon. Hell even in battles on SwSh I never saw one. Their biggest upsides which are their hidden abilities, which you won’t even get until late game so you can’t even use them on a normal playthrough. Court change is negligible on a normal run anyway since none of the people you face off against in the actual games use any kind of hazards. 85% of people who play Pokemon games don’t really play for any competitive reason.
My Ranking Gens: 1. Kanto (Nostalgia) 2. Hoenn (Peak Games) 3. Sinnoh (Best Anime Arc) 4. Johto (Nostalgia) 5. Paldea (Designs) 6. Unova (The Games) 7. Aloha (Designs) 8. Kalos (Only like Delphox/Greninja) 9. Galar (Game was mid/Cinderace is my fav) Fav Starter of all time is the Torchic Line 🔥
My starter trio rankings: (OPINION WARNING) 9. Galar: The types are just plain pure types, and the fact that they are all bipedal doesn’t bother me as much, but it’s still not great. How they’re treated in the Anime however, ticks me off. The Galar Starters got done DIRTY man. 8. Johto: All of the Starters are OK, but the big problem is again, the types. Once again they are all pure typed. 7. Unova: I like all of these Starters, and this time we do see a starter gain a secondary type, but unfortunately it’s the third Fire/Fighting type in a row. 6. Kanto: Now Bulbasaur and Squirtle are amazing, but Charmander kills this trio for me. I’m sorry, but ever since Sword and Shield (Where Charizard was the only Pre-Gen 8 Starter that didn’t need Home or DLC to be available), I have hated Charizard and it’s pre-evos. 5. Sinnoh: these are all good Starters with mostly unique type combos. 4. Kalos: Greninja was my first Starter and the other two aren’t as bad as others say (in my opinion). 3. Hoenn: All Starters are great Pokémon, I love all three. 2. Paldea: The most recent Starter Trio and I loved using them in Violet. 1. Alola: I just love them. Rowlet, Litten and Popplio are all great in my opinion, and are favorites of mine. (Favorite Starters from each Trio. Kanto: Bulbasaur Johto: Cyndaquil Hoenn: Torchic Sinnoh: Piplup Unova: Tepig, but it’s close Kalos: Froakie Alola: Rowlet Galar: Scorbunny Paldea: Quaxly, but it’s close)
From worst to best, in my opinion: Paldea- They look very unnatural. Galar- Same thing, but a little better. However, they all do show a problem starter Pokémon have in looking like characters, instead of animals. Alola- Primarina is very feminine and Incineroar is very masculine. Litten, Torracat, and Popplio look more natural. The Rowlet line looks like real owls and each final twist pulls it off very well. I like how the original Decidueye is an archer while still looking like an owl and the other form looks like a scarecrow. Sinnoh- Too clunky. They all look like they are made of plastic. Kalos- I love their first stages and their second stages are pretty cool. The final stages are not bad either, but I do agree they, particularly Delphox, all look a bit too human. Unova- I like this trio, but they do have a problem with looking like characters as they reach the final stages. Their first two stages are pretty cool, especially Dewott and Servine. Hoenn- Pretty good, but they do have an artificial look to them. Johto- I like these a lot because they look like real animals. Kanto- The most natural and realistic of all the starters, especially Bulbasaur and it's evolved forms.
In my honest opinion, Pokémon absolutely SHOULD NOT be “just some animals,” which is why the Galar starters… WOULD be my favorite bunch, if not for Inteleon’s intense skinniness. Cinderace is my favorite starter of all time, it’s bursting with personality and I love sweeping everything with Pyro Ball. My actual favorite trio would have to be, surprisingly, Gen 1 though. Even though I consider many individual starters to be better than any of the Genwunners, there are no glaring flaws holding them back, no one Pokémon that’s a clear least favorite.
@@LeviathanGamer799 I agree that turning them to characters gives them more personality. I also find some of their concepts clever, but I am not a fan of the way some of them are done. Take Incineroar and Cinderace. I like their concepts, but the final cut for each makes them look unbelievable. It's like I'm staring at people in costumes. It's why I lean more towards the first six generations, where they look more realistic to me.

I've seen many people blame gen 6 typhlosion model but Pokémon colosseum is the model and effects they used in X and Y, so if you wanna blame his 3d model blame Pokémon colosseum
For my personal rankings: (Incoming wall of text) 9) Johto -- This trio is overall quite bland, unfortunately. Typhlosion is overrated and I'm not a fan of it's Hisuian form, and it's not great in battle, either. Meganium is cute, but otherwise the textbook definition of underwhelming. Feraligatr is the one that carries this line far and away, being not only the best in-game, even with all the other possible water types to pick from, and it's kit is the best competitively as well. 8) Galar -- What do you know -- another trio of starters without secondary typings! I don't hate any of them, but Inteleon is weird (though it is good in the trading card game), Cinderace is solid because of libero, and Rillaboom is pretty cool, but they all could've benefited from having a second typing. 7) Paldea -- This trio is definitely a very strong one competitively, as all 3 have their good points: Meowscarada is cool, but would've been broken if protean wasn't nerfed this generation, Skeledirge is a bulky fire type, which is rare (probably because fire is a surprisingly bad defensive type despite having the second most resistances of any single type), and Quaquaval is cooler than I think most people give it credit for, especially since if it can get the ball rolling, it can become just about unstoppable. 6) Unova -- This trio is definitely a mixed bag in my opinion: Serperior is literally only good because of contrary -- it's one of the worst picks for an in-game playthrough otherwise, having poor offensive stats and little type coverage to round it out -- but give it contrary and leaf storm and it suddenly becomes OP. Emboar is a cooler design than I think most people give it credit for -- I'm still not a huge fan of it, and the other fire/fighting types before it are undoubtedly better, but it's still not that bad -- especially if you're one of the few people who are actually aware of it's inspiration being a character from Journey to the West. Samurott is awesome, and while it's stat spread could be much better, it has a great design -- even if is very different from it's previous stages -- and is the best pick if you want a good water type on your in-game team; it's Hisuian form is overall an upgrade, too. 5) Kalos -- Unfortunately, this trio has the issue of 2 of these starters being extremely overshadowed by Greninja: while it is a popular and cool Pokemon, I do think it's a bit overrated -- especially in the anime, where it's entire personality centered around it becoming stronger and little else, and I don't think it had as much of an emotional payoff as some previous starters did. Delphox I actually kinda like, and I think people hate on it for it's design too much -- it's only really the ear hair that bothers me. Chesnaught is cool, but it doesn't stand out to me that much, for better or for worse. 4) Kanto -- I can definitely agree that this trio has been too overexposed, especially Charizard, which is the closest thing to a second mascot we got other than Eevee; that said, I still do like Charizard, and I believe it's a big part of the reason why Pokemon was able to become so popular back in the day, and I think it's popular for a good reason, rather you like it or not. Venusaur is just overall quite solid, and has never really been bad: the other 2 have had their ups and downs, but Venusaur has remained fairly consistent, and it's grown on me more and more with time. Blastoise, being as defensively inclined as it is, is the one that holds this trio back for me personally, and I'm not a fan of it's mega evolution design-wise, either. 3) Sinnoh -- For my top 3 starter trios, I don't think you can really go wrong, and they all have something for everyone, and the gen4 starters are no exception to this. Empoleon is probably my least favorite of the 3, but it's still cool in a somewhat odd way, and water/steel is a great typing that I believe is still unique to it. Torterra may have been done dirty in the anime, but that was mostly because Ash's Torterra was too focused on speed; Paul's Torterra, on the other hand, was consistently great -- it's also worth noting that it got some major buffs this generation with shell smash and loaded dice to abuse bullet seed and rock blast with. As for Infernape, it's my favorite fire type starter, and seeing it in the anime is a huge part of why that is; though it should also be mentioned that it's arguably the best for an in-game playthrough, and not just because you don't really get other good fire type options. 2) Hoenn -- Gen3 is one of my favorite generations ever, and the starter are a big part of that: although not my favorite of the trio, Sceptile is my personal favorite grass starter because it's just plain cool, although I do wish it was a bit better in battle. Blazekin is a bit overrated in my opinion, but it's still a cool Pokemon, but if I'm being completely honest, speed boost is the main reason why it is anywhere near as good as it is today -- it would be pretty middling at best without it. As for Swampert, it's the best starter in-game, and it's consistently been solid in OU since it debuted; but while it's mega evolution is definitely a powerhouse on rain teams, I never personally was a fan of it's design. 1) Alola -- This trio is one that has some of my favorites for each type consistently: Decidueye may be the one I personally like the least, but it still has a cool design and I like archery, so it appeals to me, though I'm fairly indifferent to it's Hisuian form. Incineroar I've always thought was cool, and it's definitely FAR better in VGC than in singles; that said, I think they dropped the ball after Ash's Torracat evolved into Incineroar in the anime, since we unfortunately never really got to see much of what it was like afterwards. And as was said in this video, Primarina is a very underrated starter Pokemon: she's beautiful, good competitively, great in-game being the best pick for Alola (who would've guessed a water starter would be optimal for a region that's an island chain?), and as my personal favorite water type starter Pokemon, I always put in a good word for her in comment sections whenever I get the chance to talk about her. I fell in love with the Popplio line from the moment I first saw it revealed, but all 3 are great in their own regards and deserve recognition
@@thatboyminus 1. johto starters are bland 2. I like the signature move sparkling aria and i LOVE that primarina sings when it uses the OP z-move ocianic operetta
And sparking aria... primarina is my fav starter 100% i know a lot of people like Greninja more but ye!

Hoenn is my favorite region!! Thank you for putting them at #1!! 😄
Unova cant be that low, especially when galerian and paldea starters exist!
Why?
Galar is far and away the worst. It's the only gen where I dump the starter. Only Hisui gave me as much trouble when picking a starter, but because they were all 3 too good. Went with that epic fire/ghost typing. Hisui I couldn't pick because they were too good, Galar I couldn't pick because they were so bad. Still don't like them. Still don't use them. If they had secondary typings, it could have saved them, but the mono typing ultimately sealed their fates as the worst starter trio

Naaw bruh Sinnoh starters should have been higher up. Hoan goated tho
From worst to best, in my opinion:
Paldea- They look very unnatural.
Great breakdown!
@@thatboyminus Thanks. I'm just not a fan of how they go from looking like animals to characters throughout the franchise's existence.

I've seen many people blame gen 6 typhlosion model but Pokémon colosseum is the model and effects they used in X and Y, so if you wanna blame his 3d model blame Pokémon colosseum
For my personal rankings:
(Incoming wall of text)
9) Johto -- This trio is overall quite bland, unfortunately.
My favourite grass starter :-Rillaboom
Fire :-Blaziken
Water:- hisuian Samurott
i agree with some of your choices but you have some awful takes
What do you mean?
@@thatboyminus 1. johto starters are bland
2. Cinderace doesn't look natural BECAUSE of its gimmick.(i agree he doesnt look natural, but that's not because his design is based on being a soccer player)
also making this complaint about cinderace and not incineroar and primarina
3. Gen 8 and 9 are better than gen 5, and gen 7 being so high
I don't really care to argue taste but having incineroar and primarina so high when you complain about "not looking natural" seems a little hypocritical
My personal opinion:
9. Johto (I’m sorry but the generic “get bigger” design philosophy does not appeal to me for a starter line. Thankfully Typhlosion got fixed for me in PLA.)
8. Kanto (They are iconic and I respect that but none of them are top favorite tier for me)
7. Kalos (The Fennekin line is the only one I really love these days. Froakie is cool, although overrated and I hate Ash Greninja, and Chespin just kind of… exists)
6. Sinnoh (Really solid trio all around, what can I say?)
5. Unova (I really love the Snivy and Oshawott lines, Tepig line is okay)
4. Galar (Kinda similar to the Unova starters, I love the Scorbunny and Sobble lines, not too huge on the Grookey line personally, but it is good in battle so…)
3. Hoenn starters (Just a really great trio all around from beginning to end)
2. Paldea (One of the two goated starter trios, all three starters start off adorable, have cool themes to their lines and are utilized really well in their final stages. Though both the Fuecoco and Quaxly lines are great, the Sprigatito line is the shining star here. Also Sprigatito had far more potential with a cool biped evo than the bland ass quadruped evos people kept on asking for, just sayin’.)
1. Alola (This starter trio is the shining star of perfectly designed starters for me. Three great first stages, middle stages that are either cool or tolerable, and awesome final stages with cool themes. Though the Popplio line is easily my favorite out of the three, I think both Rowlet and Litten are top tier as well. Also same thing I said about Sprigatito being biped applies to Litten too.)

6. Johto
7. Galar
8. Kalos
9. Paldea
Sceptile Greninja infernape Best starters
The top 3 for me are 1. Hoean, 2. Kanto 3. Sinnoh
My guy really put Alola, Galar and Paldea starters, undeniably the worst designed starters ever, other than Incineror and Decidueye, above Unova starts, who are undeniably better designed than even Kanto and Johto. Wild.
Heres my top, Sinnoh, Hoenn, Unova, Johto, Kalos, Kanto, and the. I dont care about the others. Literally garbage.
Best of each type:
Water- Sampert, Samurrot, Empoleon, Greninja, Blastoise, Ferraligator
Fire- Infernape, Blaziken, Typhlosion, Emboar, Charizaed, Delphox
Grass- Torterra, Serperior, Sceptile, Venasaur, Chestnaught, Meganium.
Imo
Unova
Jhoto (never liked them)
Alola (rowlet carry)
Hoenn (i feel Like they r overused)
Galar (too much cinderace and too less other eventho they r better)
Paldea (i LOVE those guys i never liked this Duck)
Kalos (chesnut and delfox ar underrated imo)
Kanto (venusaur and overused charizard blastoise in my hearth)
And my boy sinnoh (i dont Like only grotler here)
Me personally Blaziken is a cause in a phone it almost helped me beta the elite and solo with it but it bc of the ghost type elite four because I used flamethrower one of the strongest of the fire type moves
