@@DharshM0Nah, that's fine, if a capture exposes the enemy king, it's still a capture. I also believe Simps primary goal was to deliver checkmate by moving the Queen next to enemy King, where Queen is protected by another piece. Thus it can be captured, yet still checkmate.

It was pretty funny, but I feel like that's within the spirit of the rules. Like the only way to give checkmate was with a piece that's attacked by a pinned piece, or with a piece that's attacked by the king but defended.

3:59 His knight cannot capture because he is pinned to his king by your queen. You blundered your video.

3:59 technically he can't, since he's pinned by the queen

@@kingyodah5415the challenge says “Chess, but you can only move pieces (not pawns) to a square where they can be captured by your opponent.”
And last time I checked, a piece can’t be captured by a pinned piece.

@@wittingcave5591thats why i said the challenge doesnt say WHEN your opponent has to capture. The challenge doesnt say if it has to be in next move or 10 moves later. Your job is to keep a piece on a square where it can be captured. Once a piece is unpinned it can capture and THAT matters.

@@kingyodah5415 I understand the sentiment, but by that reasoning every single square on the chess-board is OK. Because in the future there can be a position where the square you want to go to is attacked.
What I mean is this. The knight is pinned, so it cannot capture on that move. You argue that once the king moves the knight could capture, so it's OK.
Now imagine a different situation. Play knight h6 on the first move. I argue that once the pawn on d2 moves, the bishop could capture, so it's OK by the same reasoning.
Anyhow, I personally am completely okay with Simp loosening up on the rules there in this case, but it did contradict the original phrasing. There's been plenty of times where he interpreted challenges harder than they were worded.

What a fool, ending your own video -- you could have taken the queen and continued the game.

That was literally Impossible unless oponent resigns. I mean you cannot get checkmate in a square where you can be captured

I feel as though you should make the transphobic argument of that was a pawn not a piece just because it calls itself a queen it is still a pawn and therefor mission accomplished.

I fully support simp being allowed to make an "illegal" move if it literally wins him the game because even though the video ends he already won so I always say it's fair game especially for challenges so impossible as this one that if you can get to a mate in one position then I think he deserves the win
