See what winter is like at the University of Alberta (in Edmonton, AB, Canada)!
Winter is a great time to explore and try new things like skating, sledding, skiing, and snowboarding. It's also a great time to enjoy the outdoors in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada! Even when there is snow on the ground, you can enjoy bright blue skies and sunshine. If you want to stay indoors, then there are many cozy cafes around campus, as well as recreational classes, fitness centres, great study spaces, and more.

For having lived in Edmonton five years, only one word would describe winters in Edmonton: BRUTAL
🤣🤣🤣
Amen! It's one thing to watch the snow in front of a screen but when you're there the wind is what really kills you...literally.
I’ve lived in Edmonton my whole life. I’m 49. Trust me when I say you don’t feel like going on a walk, or to a festival when it’s -25 outside but with windchill, -40
I wish it was -25c right now. Instead it’s -35c with -45c wind chill 🥲
Not exactly, depends on the person.
After living in Vancouver for college one thing I really missed and made me quite homesick was winter. I used to complain about the winters here, but now that winter is approaching I have an intense feeling of nostalgia and joy!
Another thing is that there’s hardly any sunlight during the winter up there. A lot of people probably get diagnosed with seasonal effective disorder. Yet during the summer it doesn’t get dark until 11:00 PM. As a New Yorker that would be a difficult adjustment if I lived in Edmonton.
we use to get 320 sunny days a year, now its more like 20 days a year, less rain less snow but more grey misty sky's. lived here 25 years, use to be great place now its depressing. lack of sun and worm climate really has a toll on the soul.
"Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow".
Is there snowfall in Vancover B.C.?
I really want to go to Edmonton Canada so badly.
Edmonton looks nice, but I'm just not a winter person. Will just have to be content with visiting sometime.
Is it cold yet in the month of April next year because we'll be going there just to be sure so we can be ready!!!
i hav sunusities...can i study there without prblms
pablum ... the winters are brutal. SO cold, so long and just torture.
Very interested for me ☺️👍 greetings from Germany 🙋♀️🇩🇪🌹🎵🍀 with support 👉❤️🔔

I really love to study in your university 😮❤
they have a fun mall
Question still remains unanswered, how are the winters in Edmonton?
-20C most of the winter, usually hitting -30C at some point in January or February for a few days or maybe a week sometimes. A good amount of winter sun, although it seems like less than it used to be. Not gloomy all the time like Vancouver. In recorded weather history, it has actually snowed in Edmonton every month of the year. Fortunately it usually only snows between halloween, and the end of April. Usually.
Better than those in Winnipeg, Manitoba!
I live in Edmonton
*Trust me as a life long Edmontonian, we do not get 320 sunny days a year.*
Trust me as an edmonton we do.
The guy who says 'we do not get 320 sunny days a year' got 27 likes. The guy who says 'we do' got none. Who is right?!
Carlos Vipe I’ve lived in Edmonton whole life. Trust me, we don’t. Mind you it can be -40 with windchill outside but the sun is out
How long does the snow last?
@@a.v.2491 wow that's a long winter over there. Yeah is it still snowing right now? My bf didn't tell me about the winter over there the winter too much.
How cold is it usually? I want to know if it's colder there or here in Finland :D
The average high for January is -4 degrees Celsius. The average low is -15 degrees Celsius.
+Sayed hassan but this years winter was the driest and there it is..... the fire DUNDUNDUDND
“Average temperatures” in Alberta winters are almost misleading - the range of monthly temperature in the winter in Alberta and surrounding areas are the largest on Earth.
Fort Vermillion ranged from an Antarctic -58˚C to a bare-arms 18˚C in three Decembers from 1911 to 1913, and in Edmonton February 1931 averaged -0.2˚C and February 1936 -27.2˚C! It would be wonderful to see comparative pictures of the two months on the ground - it would have been different worlds, 1931 thawed and bare, 1936 frozen and covered in solid ice!
I've lived in Edmonton my entire life. The low temperatures usually hover around -25 in the middle of winter. However, occasionally the temperature can go as low as -30 or even very rarely -40. Another thing to take in to account is a lovely thing known as windchill which means a -25 day can FEEL like -35 and a -32 day can feel like -40. So if you are coming here in winter be prepared for worst case scenario.
Between -25°c and -33°c with wind chill without -16°c to -19°c
Nice
Its my great dream to study there😗😍😗😍
What are winters like in Edmonton? Long, cold, and dark. The sun will come up at 8 and go down at 4. On the plus side, it's not damp, so you can dress up and be warm. No bone-chilling damp like in Toronto. Winter skies will often be sunny, but it'll be -25. Expect the first snow by the end of September. Snow is quite possible up until the end of April. I have even seen it snow in early June in Edmonton. Eight years living in Edmonton, never again.
How the univ of alberta?
I live in YEG and it's -30 right now...
but it gets warm.. not like Phil's tho..lol..welcome to yeg!
It was plus 30 last week 😂

Cold..... snow..... Nasty, just plain nasty! But, better than Saskatchewan.
U of A engineering is impossible to get into
Wokan Goman why?
The program is really good and admission is competitive. However I doubt that it is 'impossible' because a good amount of people I know with a 85 ish average got in.
I wanna move from Ontario to Edmonton
Why
Canada is the greatest country in the world. It's the most freest most living and accepting country in the world. In Canada you're so free and loved and accepted and cared for seriously you couldn't be any more freer and loved and accepted in Canada it's way more freer than USA and richer and bigger than USA. Canada has the richest middle class than any other country in the world the cost of living is cheaper in Canada than USA and they pay lower taxes and get more money. They have every American thing as well as their own stuff and much more! It has free healthcare. Canada is literally the greatest country in the world. Canada is heaven!
it used to be
@@jumpman925 Isn't everything I said about Canada true?
