There are few, if any, miracles in the history of football greater than the work Brian Clough & Peter Taylor did at Nottingham Forest. The duo took a second division side and turned them not just into champions of England, but two-times champions of Europe. Such a miracle is unlikely to ever happen again.

Agree with you that it is highly unlikely his accomplishments with Forest will ever be duplicated. Sad for him that he was unable to reconcile with Taylor. Great shame. Great story as always Finners.
No club has ever become Champions of England in their first season after Promotion without finishing as Champions of the 2nd Division the season before (something Ispwich achieved in 1962) - Forest scrapped into 3rd in 1977 (by 1 point) and so got promoted......and then won Six Trophies in the following 3 seasons ( I include becoming European SuperCup winners in 1980) They also went 42 games unbeaten ....a record that stood for over 25 years till Arsenal bettered it with 46 games under Wenger. Forest was already an interesting club with 2 FA Cups to their name 50 years ago, but Clough & Taylor made us a real NAME in the English and European Game. They cannot be thanked enough.

At 5 minutes, actually Revie said Leeds lost only 2 games in the season and Clough said I will try to win it only losing 1 and Revie replied that is impossible.
Between 1980 and 1989, Forest were trophyless but then he managed to put 2 on the mantlepiece within the space of a month. Only Cloughie could do that.
