Fascinating character. Unique. He was right about managers still working at 60 - he never got that far and couldn't have got that far even if he'd wanted to as it turned out.
Legend has it Cloughie was always handing in his resignation at Derby, then one day Sam Longson accepted it and Clough was out of work..... deep down he always regretted leaving which is sad.
Clough always gave credit and more to Peter Taylor. I know they fell out but Clough knew the success they had was as much due to Peter as well as himself. Both LEGENDS!!?
Truth is that it’s the owners and managers who make the teams, not the geolocation, and it was Sam Longson that gave us Brian Clough and financed the success. I remember watching Derby before Brian Clough arrived and the ground was hardly bursting at the seams with passion and expectation. Same with Forest, their Chairman took a huge gamble on Clough and it paid off. Forest got a better Brian Clough than we had. He’d got a bit more humility after the Leeds/ Brighton fiascos and was a better manager for it. His time at Derby was traumatic, his time at Forest was far calmer. I love to see Derby giving Forest a good thrashing but don’t do the hate thing and certainly don’t begrudge any team outside the big spending clubs a bit of success. That gives us all hope.
Being in that crowd at the Ossie End when there was 40k + attending was more than a bit scary. Crushes trying to get in, people being passed down unconscious in the hot Summer months and then the FA fenced us in. Genious!
Clough and Taylor. What a team!
A great video. A demonstration of articulate, expressive speech. Up there with Ali.
Almost a different language to the present day cliche ridden media speak.

An inspirational man. If you find one in your professional life, listen to them and learn.

He also handed in Peter Taylor's resignation as well. Without telling Taylor!

Tremendous manager and character. When football was football
Thanks for the upload. I don't think I've ever seen this video before, and it was great to watch. 👍
Great memories🐏👌👍
Top man
Given his scoring record at Sunderland, there should be a statue of him there. H`way the lads
this is great! When it was made no one had idea what would happen at Derby and Nottingham Forest.
Peter Taylor never gets any credit,Brian needed his 2nd in command. Rip Brian Clough and Peter Taylor
Clough said he was "the shop window" and Taylor was "the goods in the back". Such a shame they fell out, for the game and for them as people.

God I miss the great man 😭😭😭 ! Derby is a football town , Snottingham isn’t ! DTID 💪🖤🐏🐏🐏🐏

12k - 40k crazy Sad seeing the football ground.
