What’s some of the biggest ways you think you or your life has changed since 2019/2022? ❤

I feel like everyone was and is redesigning their life now. Upgrading it, going remote, getting healthier, being more independent and on and on. They feel like they have urgency and permission to do the things they did not before. I certainly am working on improving my health and life holistically.
On a different personal note I was looking at moving to another country at some point and had not chosen where to move when the clown event happened. Now there are countries that I thought were lovely that have driven themselves right off a cliff into authoritarianism and crazy in a manner I had never seen in the West. I had only seen it in China before and now my instincts scream to flee anywhere this is infested which is many places. I cannot express just how terrifying it is to see things that I saw in communist dictatorships become acceptable. It has shaken me and derailed my life plans.

I found post Covid, I took less things for granted and started putting myself first for once - I am a people pleaser. I also found I stopped idolising things I thought mattered, deleted social media and started a Nursing Degree. I love your channel so much. Much love from a fellow Australian ❤️

I stopped taking my antidepressants right before the pandemic hit so that was tough. I was already working remotely way before Covid but being trapped in the home with my family really tested my mental health. As much as I love them I had to work as well as make sure my son was signing in for school and doing his work. I really neglected myself and in doing so I’ve gained the most weight I’ve been even more so than when I was pregnant 😅 post Covid has made me realize how much I love time to myself and caring less about the things I thought I liked…which was shopping. I would shop out of boredom or when I was stress. I am so much more aware and mindful of my spending. I also rediscovered minimalism and how I adopted the mindset which has helped so much with my depression.

I feel like Covid increased loneliness among many. People are less spontaneous to go out and tend to stay more at home. Many have become more introverted. Everything social seems more like a challenge.

I find I actually like in person shopping more now. I like to touch and feel the items, something I cared less about before. Also, I am lucky to be in the cheap travel haven that is Europe & I took that for granted before but now I really try to be intentional with travel & appreciate it. Also, I just find I’m less apologetic about stuff, I just do stuff & not worry as much about how it’s perceived

I also noticed that I’m starting to enjoy in person shopping again. I like to see and touch items, feel the material and quality. So tired of getting things that are of terrible quality, don’t fit well, inconsistent sizing, etc. I especially enjoy outdoor malls now where I can see people, shop but also be outdoors.

It made me miss human connections. I am super introvert but even I get SO EXCITED to go out and be around people now. It makes me sad that more stuff is going virtual. I work at home all day so doing errands in person is a special treat for me. It’s important to still feel connected to other humans, or especially we become more selfish which is bad for the world.

I bought an age in place home early 2021 and retired in 2022. The decision was prompted by Covid for sure. Working from home I realized that I didn’t want to work anymore. Time and health are more important than accumulating more money. I have enough to live on so I stopped working. I haven’t done much except learning to swim in the past year. I dropped 25lb and sculpted my body like a swimmer.

During the pandemic, I started sewing seriously. It has become my favorite hobby. Creative activities really helped me through the lockdowns and continue to do good for my mental health today. I was creative before (I've knitted for a long time), but since my teenage years, I had not taken the time to learn a new hobby.

For me personally, it got worse before it got slightly better. I was stuck in quarantine without a basic necessities (shower gel, body lotion ect. body lotion was incredibly triggering cause I have extremely dry skin that flakes and itches and I can't use just any product) so when stores started opening up I went INSANE not just with cosmetics (but cosmetics was the worst) but with other stuff too. I would buy backup for backup just so it wouldn't happen again. It was bad before panini but got even worse during. At one point tho, I just became overwhelmed with stuff. I used to dust my room every week but now it's down to once or twice a month cause I can't deal with amount of stuff I accumulated. It takes me an HOUR just to dust my small room(3x4.5m I'm not joking it's SMALL)!! That's double the time it used to. I managed to reduce cosmetics to just one thing but I'm still overwhelmed with other stuff. I still shop although much more consciously and with intention and less impulsevly, just getting the things I really need. I'm glad online shopping is still not as available here as it is in other places so I have to physically go to the store or it would be even worse with my poor impulse control. But yeah, my relationship with shopping definitely changed and I'd say for the better since pre/during panini

As an essential worker, I also got more conscious of personal space, mostly due to concern that I would pass things along, while I was the only one I knew, going to work just like always, but it stuck. I felt like a walking vector, and it wasn’t unfounded. And like you, at Barbie and Oppenheimer, people sat too close to me, and I was surprised how much it dampened my enthusiasm for both movies. As for shopping, I always try to go to a line, with a person at the register, but I shop less, buy less, etc. for me, shopping for clothing and things, was always linked with travel, and I still haven’t had the time to get that part of my life back. I’ll see what happens next time I’m staying in a good shopping district. I have made a quite a few fitness and lifestyle purchases, a paddle board, exercise equipment, etc, holidays have been replaced by day trips, and hiking or being on the water.

I shopped my way through the pandemic. It was my survival mechanism. Browse, choose, order, anticipate delivery, open box - repeat, repeat, repeat. I'm still breaking out of that habit. I agree with you about bricks and mortar shops, if we don't use them they will go bust. The QR codes and so many things being primarily online is a problem for me now, I don't like to live that way and a lot of the time I can't live that way, but increasingly there's no other option and so I end up going without. The pandemic has changed people socially. In the UK there's much less manners or respect for others and much more selfishness. It saddens me. Friendships are becoming a rare commodity, online really doesn't count and isn't the same thing at all. The art of conversation is dying and with many people, rudeness reigns.

I used to be obsessed with shopping-I’m talking, seriously always buying things from anywhere and accumulating in my room, only using things once or maybe even never at all. I would have a bunch of clothing with tags on them, and makeup that I would just hoard. It was unreal lol now, after paying all of my school debt in one sweep after quarantine,I realized that excessive shopping is just a waste of hot time and money. There’s nothing wrong with finding enjoyment in buying nice things, but my habits aren’t as extreme as before the pandemic. Now,I want to spend time with ppl I like and spend $$ on experiences like a fancy restaurant dinner or a concert or spa day instead.

  • @Off_the_clock_astrophysicist

During the lockdowns, I both needed a reason to spend time outside (for the sake of my quality of sleep), and I was home more. That gave me the time I needed to straighten up my yard and indeed, grow veggies. I had always thought my yard was a mess because I was lazy, but I realized that it was simply because it takes time to care for a yard, and I was spending that time commuting and working away from my house. You can't care for your home if you are not in your home. I still work partly from home and so I am better able to care for my yard and my home. It's taken away a source of anxiety in my life. I don't live very far from work, but that's still one hour a day freed up by not commuting (I am counting the getting ready to go outside and the packing up at the office at the end of the day). Those are disruptions I don't experience on a daily basis anymore. That's another thing that's happened. I used to think nothing of that 1 hour a day, but now it feels a lot longer and like a lot more trouble. I have colleagues who live an hour and half away. I don't know how they do it.

For me, I do shop more online. But what has really changed is what I buy and what I need. My organization went from in person to virtual first forever as of 2022. We have eliminated our offices and I work 95% at home. I am live on camera teaching all day. What looks good on camera isn't what looks good in real life!!!! Pastels, for instance, look good in person and wash out online. So I am replacing items that used to be staples with staples for my new lifestyle - and am doing it entirely on the used maket with Poshmark. I no longer need dressy shoes, many pants. I buy outdoorsy comfortable clothing, leggings, and sweats. I also no longer shop in person for fun. It doesn't occur to me to go to a mall unless I have a purpose. But with more buying opportunities in my pocket, I find the temptation to buy has shifted but is still there.

giiiiirl, I got so unapologetically antisocial... I had the perfect excuse to not meet anyone. I have gotten SO selective with my time. My work luckily went remote for the panini years, but now there is an expectation to show up at the office more. I genuinely feel like I am getting punished for past sins when I have to go to the office. I DO NOT WANT TO! Everyone is so starved for interaction, there are constant interruptions. Everyone wants to catch up and I'm thinking like "babe, just let me work in peace so I can get TF out of here ASAP" Any time I have to go more than once per week I am completely exhausted.
Another thing that happened during the panini is that I invested time and money in my apartment. As did so many people. I was able to pay off ALL of my debt. I am blissfully debt free now. Love it. Even though I spiraled into shopping compulsively in the beginning. I have stopped that now.
Big crowds were never my favourite thing, but now I literally can't stand it. My distaste for people is much more prominent now. I have even less tolerance for small talk....

I don’t want to work onsite period. I went to work on site and lasted about 6 months. The lights are too bright, the commute is nerve wracking, too many distractions, it’s cold af and I’m not productive. I also don’t like shopping in person. I discovered that I don’t like people standing less than 6 feet from me. Pre pandemic I noticed but I tolerated it, now I go during senior citizens hours or I have my groceries delivered. I also shop less. I think the pandemic changed me in a good way 😂

On the non shopping thing and consuming less. There was already a movement before Corona.
It just sealed the deal for me. I hate online shopping so I stopped, for about three years and my savings account skyrocketed.
Others went the other way and just shopped because it’s one of the few things they could do. But I think people in the last category are realizing now that no matter the amount of items you are getting for that momentary rush, it’s not lasting.
I’m glad the buy less movement is getting bigger

  • @Off_the_clock_astrophysicist

One thing that I was expecting during the lockdowns was for people to buy more groceries and learn how to make meals at home. Instead, it was an explosion of delivery of already made food, and as soon as the lockdowns ended, regardless of the true safety of the situation, people flocked into restaurants again. That was a missed opportunity for improving the nations' health (I am talking about the US).

Pre-covid, I was a full on extrovert. Now, I could care less if I interact much with other people, keep your distance folks! E-commerce has been great for me, I had a major knee injury, surgery earlier this year, and without it, I'm not sure how I would have been able to get the things I needed. Plus it goes well with my new introvert status LOL! I don't know that I'll ever go back to full on shopping in store, I've gotten so used to it and I actually think I spend less because there is less impulse purchasing. I probably did buy more over the past couple of years than I would have normally, being stuck at home both from the pandemic and the injury didn't help. I enjoyed the dopamine hit. However, I am being much more intentional and I've done a lot of cleaning/purging during my surgery recovery.

I totally agree with all your observations. As for the slowdown of purchases, I think it’ll slow down further on the second market thanks to the super fake market and all the recent scandals. As for shopping I find people in the luxe community buy a lot less often, less logos, and much slower (and everyone is trying to sell /“curate”).
(On my end, I’ve bought only three bags and two SLGs, all Chanel or Hermes, since 2020, whereas I bought 8 bags and four SLGs in 2018-2019 alone).

I live in the US, and while the messaging early in the pandemic was lacking, communications have now almost ceased (since that infamous day a year back or whatever when Biden dropped his mask in a factory and declared the pandemic over - before he and his family caught Covid). It's gotten a lot harder to find out how prevalent Covid is at any given time. The CDC website is completely inscrutable and I deal with data as a living. And even once one finds useful data, it would be really good to have guidance, rated by one's level of comfort with catching that disease. I've had to make my own decisions and of course, I have to err on the safe side. The only thing we ever hear is get vaccinated. Well, OK, but what if I want to minimize the number of times I catch Covid (every instance increases the chance for long Covid - or so we know through research that is not being disseminated to the public, and so I don't know if that's still what the research says, and to what measure). But again, if you don't know err on the safe side. Not knowing is the hardest. I know very well that science is hard, but I would like regular status updates. Even with vaccines, we find information through the grapevines. I stumbled upon the rollout of Novavax in the US from a posting on FB by a friend. I don't know if I can still get my Covid vaccine for free. I think we are doing free tests again in the US, but I am not positive. We are still living with this dangerous virus roaming around and are given zero information or support. We are expected to figure it out on our own. Most people I know have decided that the best course of action was to put their head deep in the sand and hope for the best. As if this was the middle ages and there were nothing we could do against disease.

Great subject , Caitlin🙌 So you are correct on many points. I am happy that ppl finally slow down and started thinking, so yes with all mandates, and so much information on social media, ppl started realizing, that maybe so called conspiracies, are actually true. So its good that so many ppl changed sheeple mentality. Now personally, my life wasnt so much affected. I am awaken and long before pandemic ,i knew about agendas, i knew about all scam, what governments are using on us…. I actually knew that something is going to happen, because of the war going on…, no i did not imagine that it would be virus/ biological attack. Now i live in US, in South Florida,so we never got experienced what other countries or states were experienced. We did not have lockdown. While everyone had to sit at home, we were able to sip Pina-coladas on the beach 😜 . And again our state gov, did not made mandatory vaccines, so it was freedom of choice, as should be in free society. Again i knew how dangerous v was, tried to warn as many as i could. I did my research, i showed patents ( on government websites) . Anyways we didnt do much social distancing. Yes my husband’s family and friends, had different opinion, but since my husband became paralyzed, in 2010, we already were more at home, or hospitals, well our life slowed down. So it wasnt such a big difference. Now movie theaters, i stopped going, long before pandemic, because of shooting that happened in quite a few US theaters, i never was comfortable to be in that space, after those events. Now in US shopping online was kind of popular before pandemic. And we always had big resale market shopping as well. Now yes the resale markets are over loaded. Its really hard to sell anything right now, but thats more because of the economic crisis. Ppl more aware these days what is going on, and we are heading in deep recession worldwide….. now i never really care for the mall shoppings. Some boutiques ok, but all these big shopping centers, not my cup of tea. Although , here , in US they still popular. Grocery stores , we have sales ppl. We do have some self checkout lines, but nothing more than before pandemic, at least here in SF . Now qr codes and self checkouts, its not just because pandemic, its part of one world government agenda, to know where you are at all times, social distancing was as well, and of course their goal complete control of humanity, cashless society are part of their Deep reset agenda. And God forbid, if they succeed, the pandemic would look like children games, to compare, what are they preparing. Now they will not win, and opposite Gesara/ Nesara, is returning earth back to humanity🙏 So between these two there is a huge fight, this war is going on since Greatest Prez JFK…. actually even before him. Anyways yes pandemic showed us, we the people, that our lives are fragile, and we do need to slow down, and actually watch what our gov are doing…. And learn to take care of ourselves, get in touch with Mother Nature, and dont trust anyone, just because they have degree…. So i think , that this tragedy, this attack on us, thought us a lot. And i truly believe, if they try to pull something like that, once again, the ppl will not succumb anymore, well i think the majority🙏🙏🙏 Have a blessed day🙏❤️

Genuinely wondering: why didn’t you get the flu shot? I trust the government and systems way less as well, but that wasn’t how my feelings manifested.

I’m in Canada and everything you said is almost identical here. QR code at the restaurant, lots of people now working from home, people avoiding store to order online. People buy less now because prices for food and housing as increased a lot. Lots of people cook now instead of going to restaurant.
I’m also on the same page as you… i avoid way more people… i’m way less tolerant!!! I get quickly irritated having too much people around me! 😅 So i order mostly everything online. One specific reason is the suddenly shortage of people to work… they now have to hire younger kids in store and usually they don’t have any experience and are not very useful! So way simpler to order online and to returned things by mail if you want a refund. Definitely, the pandemic changed drastically our life.

E-commerce is not my thing, as a lot of things doesn't sit well on my body, and I need to try things, and to pay extra money to send back all those stuff is not really good for my wallet, so I am still a shopping mall girl=) even before pandemic I found shopping exhausting, you come back home with low batteries=) and I really like to go to office, and don't enjoy working from home, home for me is place for relaxation, hobbies and so on, and I fell less productive when working from home.

The crime in Atlanta has become so bad that it isn’t worth it to shop at the high end stores there anymore. I shop online for those things.

omg! yes! i dont get why people want to sit next to one another. it doesnt matter to me. its not like you can talk during it. i dont like people around me/my space. i make sure i now go to places where i know less people will be around. i cant stand the sound. i dont like the pleasantries anymore. I DONT CARE WHAT YOU DID ON THE WKND! the little trust i did have went out the window. ive always been a conspiracy theorist, but now ive just accepted im psychic lol. lux shopping has decreased because day to day things have become from expensive
